Legal Sea Foods - Peabody Ratings and Reviews
Legal's has been a "go to" restaurant for us so I am sad to say that this was a poor experience. We were very pleasantly greeted at the hostess stand. We waited 20 minutes for our reserved table. The restaurant was very busy and there was insufficient waitstaff. We waited about 10 minutes before a very harried waiter came with water, and since we knew what we wanted, we both ordered the crab cake combo entree. Server was very quick to bring bread service, and about 20 minutes later someone else brought our entrees. The crab cake was cold and dry; the shrimp was cold and overcooked; and the scallops although cold were very good. Very disappointing.
The food and service as well as the ambiance were all very good and pleasant. It was an enjoyable evening and would appeal to different age groups and different occasions. I have gone to Legal for both casual dining and celebratory dinners. Both have been pleasant and satisfying experiences.
The Peabody location is our favorite. Always excellent service and top quality food there. Dined here on Christmas Day. This is our third year dining at Legals on either Christmas Day or Christmas Eve and we look forward to it as it's always an enjoyable experience. I had the twin lobster special which was fantastic. Two decent sized lobsters served with a side of roasted vegetables. My wife had the filet which was cooked to perfection. She has ordered the filet on three different occasions at this Legals and each time it's cooked perfectly and delicious. Obviously, the cooks are trained extremely well here. Wine and cocktails were excellent as was the dessert....Bananas Foster, which came with three scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. Our server Aaron was very attentive and pleasant and willing to accommodate our requests. All in all we were so pleased with our Christmas meal at Legal's in Peabody and look forward to returning soon. It's really our favorite place to dine!
The food was good. I made a reservation for 4 and received a confirmation from Open Table. When we arrived I was told that there was no reservation. We were seated but it was a small table for 4 and there was no space to put our coats. The food and service was good.
First time I've had a 'fair' meal at a Legal's. I ordered the fish sandwich lunch and selected jasmine rice and broccoli in place of french fries. The rice was cold and hard and the broccoli was undercooked. The bun for the fish was rather stale. Overall, a big disappointment. Also unfortunate that they did not offer swordfish on their menu. I would have preferred this to a fish filet sandwich.
Parking situation is a horrible issue. Because of construction, one cannot park easily and access from the shopping center is nil. One has to go outside in order to enter Legal Seafoods. Even though we had a reservation and there were no people in the restaurant, we were taken to a very undesirable booth. We asked for a larger booth and got seated next to an utility table. The waitress while pleasant seemed a bit disjointed. Having said these comments, the meal was good though I had to ask for my "doggie bag twice.
We had a 9:30 reservation, which was accepted by the restaurant, but we were rushed and treated shabbily by the waitress and host. We definitely felt that they wanted us to leave. If the restaurant didn't want to stay open for later diners than they shouldn't accept reservations at that time.
We have been fairly regular customers for 20 years, enjoying consistently good food. However our last visit will be our last! The food was very poor I ordered a medium rare tuna steak, and was very disappointed as the steak was very fatty and tough. The side dishes were poor also. You pay top dollar at this place and you would expect a lot more.
This Legal location continues to be our favorite. The quality and consistency of the food at this location never fails.
The fish is expertly prepared and supremely fresh.
Wonderful salads, vegis, apps, sides - everything is superb!
Treat yourself to a Rhode Island stuffie - yum!
Drinks need a bit of work...sometimes seem watered down...not sure if that's due to it sitting on ice too long before poured.
I imagine a restaurant of this caliber wouldn't water down a drink.
The wine selection, already expansive, continues to grow.
Guaranteed delicious meal for seafood lovers, but the other non seafood options are delicious as well!
This location has been renovated and is beautiful.
I gave it only 3 stars for ambience this visit because we were seated, again, next to a servers' station, so it's busy and a bit distracting.
Seems this restaurant has specific table for Open Table diners and I'm not sure they are the best.
Also gave only 3 stars for service because, on this night, we had a very confused and distracted server, yet polite.
Service varies from exceptional to average.
The appetizer was great, but the main course needed a lot of work. I had shrimp scampi, because I'm picky with my food but the sauce and pasta itself wasn't edible. the pasta was sticking all together, I had to peel some parts because it was bad! The sauce suppose to be simple, but not like water. If my date wasn't nice, I would've asked for something else. The service was decent, but the main course needed a lot of work.
The food was very good but the service was poor. My fish was under cooked even though I made it very clear that I wanted it well done. I never did receive my salad that I ordered and they brought my daughter the wrong salad. Clearly our waitress was not paying attention
Very convenient to be able to make reservations through open table. We were actually a little early and were gladly accommodated by the hostess. The food was excellent and the service great! Please do not ever remove the Faroe Island salmon and mushroom ravioli from the menu-it is superb!!
