New England Clam Chowder
colossal naked shrimp, sea scallops, local catch & calamari
Food remains very good despite the change in ownership. Service was slow, but I think there was a shortage of servers. Can't go wrong if you are in the mood for fish.
A lovely restaurant with fabulous service. The only complaint is that the swordfish was rather dry. But, that didn’t stop me from eating it all!
Had fried fish. Too bland. Cole slaw tasted awful. Potatoes ok. I wanted the shrimp scampi but the recipe was changed. Cream sauce not good with it. Three friends had the shrimp linguine and did not like it. Pasta was not cooked.
clam chowder was bland, sushi was great, oysters were great, crab cake appetizer was mostly a salad, waitress was not attentive, at time of reservation I stated it was my wife's 59th birthday but no recognition of same at dinner time.
The food was horrible but my waiter was great took it off the bill the piece of fish that was service to me they should be ashamed to be called a seafood restaurant
Easter Holiday. Legal took some main dishes off the menu like the seafood casserole. Not much to choose from. The Ana’s scrod changed. I guess it’s Haddock & they put lemon all over the stuffing! Horrible. Go back to the way Ana’s was cooked before & bring back the seafood casserole!
We loved the chowder; my husband really enjoyed his swordfish and I, the salmon.
Bonbons for desert made for a delightful Easter meal.
Shrimp was amazing!!
It was a wonderful dinner and the food was amazing. A little expensive for 3 but I guess that is a place to go for just a special occasion.
great food , great price , great atmosphere. Have never had a bad meal or experience as any Legal's location.
We didn't like the food, it was badly cooked and nothing good.
The vibe was reminiscent of the days before the pandemic with folks celebrating being out and about. Our server, Mary Beth was really great! She was very attentive, engaging and her suggestions lead us to making the perfect choices for our meal! Lots of fun. Great night!
A special thank you for setting up and serving us outside. Apparently open table was wrong and allowed us to book outside even though the restaurant had not planned to serve there. The manager promptly turned the situation around by cleaning off tables and setting us up. Our waiter was attentive and the food was great. Although they do not have heaters, the patio is lovely for outdoor dining if you pick a mild evening and come prepared. Thank you.
The specials they have that started last week and last through this Friday are exceptional.
Service was great,
Food was delivered hot and and steaming.
Legal Seafoods now has a new owner and if he is the one who creates the future Legal Seafoods I will be thrilled.
I am 71. I used o go to Legal Seafood with my Father. It was a fish store only with 2 picnic benches on the sidewalk.
From there it just kept getting better.
Would I recommend Legal Sea Foods? ABSOLUTELY!
Attractive and nice spaces and our favorites.. oysters, muscles sushi. The best!!
Had an enjoyable evening, the food was excellent and the service good. Would definitely do it again
Horrible indifference and Lazy servive. I have always loved Legal Seafood and was going to shut up on this but you asked and I’m honest. Who ever the manager was they were not paying attention. The staff was slow, indifferent and lazy.
Food was superb as usual, baked haddock was is always a good take.
Went out for a date night with my spouse and decided to try LS as we had not been in a couple of years. Food was ok. Had baked stuffed shrimp that was rubbery. Asparagus was either overcast one’d or undercooked based on the bite. Wine selection was very good. MaryBeth, our server, was awesome. With so many amazing restaurants on the North Shore, we will probably not be back.
Great service and the swordfish was fantastic.
Fresh tuna and lobster. The music was not too loud, which I appreciate very much.
Let’s say it was ok. The service was slow. The lobster tasted like it was frozen and heated up again. A lot of water came out and it did not taste that great. They oysters were great.
Excellent as usual!
Mary Beth is an excellent server and the food was great!
Our server was very nice. The manager was very rude and had an attitude with my party. I will not be returning
We were pleased to see that they got rid of the limited menu they've had sine reopening after the COVID shutdown and have added some new things to the menu, although some items are missing, like the Choppino which was always so excellent. One of their big improvements is the shrimp cocktail. Before, the shrimp were not very large and they were placed on a plate rather than in the traditional shrimp cocktail presentation. Now, the shrimp are jumbo size and served traditionally. Sides have been improved as well. My husband had the baked stuffed lobster which was stuffed with a buttery cracker stuffing with large chunks of scallops and shrimp in the stuffing. We also shared a fried clam appetizer which was excellent. Not greasy with a light, crisp batter. The French fries were great as well. They stayed crispy throughout the entire meal. The dessert menu needs an overhaul, though, with more items added to it. Only 4 items offered and they weren't exciting choices. We got the Boston Cream Pie and it was nothing like the traditional Boston Cream pie. We didn't care for it at all. Hopefully, now that Legal's is owned by a different company more improvements will be coming. Service was excellent as it always is at this location.
Jim our server was attentive and super helpful! It was a fantastic experience.
I had an amazing night. Love their drinks and food
Food was average. Service was ehh. Ambiance is ok. Disappointed overall.
Excellent fresh food...love my go to fish and salad. Outstanding staff!
Everything was excellent, a little pricy, but overall a nice evening
I made a reservation here to avoid going into Boston. The experience was OK but not outstanding. Serves me right but I thought the food would be as good. The tuna appetizer WAS outstanding, as was my husband's scallops. My grilled fish on the other hand was just ok. I could have gotten it anywhere
We've been going to LSF in Peabody on weekends for lunch because its EMPTY. Bad for them but good for us. Incredible safety measures are being taken. Food quality is superb as is service.
Very expensive from the time before. Menu changed a little. Couldn’t order what I really wanted.
This is the second time we have dined at this location since they reopened after being shut down from the COVID virus last year. Dining here is not the same and I do understand there are restrictions they have to follow but I feel with some things they are taking it too far. Salt and pepper brought to you in little packets? Other restaurants do not do this so I'm assuming they just don't want to bother wiping down the salt and pepper shakers after each use. And paper napkins? No reason for them not to go back to cloth napkins at this point unless they don't want to spend the money to have them cleaned which isn't impressive. Food quality is also not the same. My fish was dry and overcooked. Salad was smaller than it used to be. Menu options are limited and they need to amp up their dessert menu. They also don't offer brewed decaf coffee. They use decaf espresso and water it down with hot water which is totally unacceptable. Tastes like instant coffee. Legal's used to be one of our favorite restaurants but no longer. I doubt we will dine here very much in the future, if at all.
We had no issues. Food was tasty and reasonable priced. Waiter was friendly and helpful. overall good experience.
Lyndsey was our server and made sure we were treated royally well and the food was outstanding.
My husband’s fish was overcooked. The waitress, Kim, cheerfully replaced it.
Excellent Fish always! We had the tuna and sword fish...so delicious.
Best place for a nice dinner! Great food and service.
