Legal Sea Foods - Park Square Ratings and Reviews
Service was very fair. The bottle of Chardonnay wine that we ordered (not inexpensive), was not cold at all. The waitress just giggled over it and offered nothing but a chiller for the table, which did nothing for the room temperature wine. We were also never visited by any sort of manager. Very disappointed!
We arrived for an early dinner before a concert. We were seated promptly. Service was good. We were not rushed and finished in time for our event. The restaurant manager stopped by our table to check in which was very nice. It was a busy night for them but the food was great and service too. You won't be disappointed.
My husband and I were on a rare date night. I expected better. The service was slow, server was complaining about "things getting screwed up" every time he picked up a shift.
Shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. Sides (veg and rice) seemed to have been slopped onto plate; not great presentation. Our other Legal experiences have been much better at other locations.
Outstanding service and commitment to excellence not only at our table but throughout the dining area. Cozy and warm dining experience yet expansive venue that created a feeling of both privacy and spaciousness. Excellent attention to request for gluten free options.
Legals is our place to go for lobster. Every time we are in Boston and we need our shellfish fix, we go to one of the Legal locations in the city. Service was great - they accommodated our request for a substitution (we are not fans of mussels) and got extra steamers. Terrific and satisfying!
It was the first snow of the year and our flight was cancelled - so we spent the day in the city and walked across the common to Legal Seafoods - great meal, cozy setting ( some of the other legals have gone loud industrial) and great service and food! Will go back!
The service was terrible -- we got the appetizer before the drinks, we didn't get any rolls until we asked for them. Then when I ordered a second glass of wine that took forever to come as well. Normally, I am a big fan of Legal, but I think they are resting on their laurels. Also the decor of this location is very dated.
The food was great but the experience was not. The restaurant was overly crowded with pre/ post theater diners. My seat was a chair added to the end of a table. Every time someone walked by, they hit my chair. At 5'2", I am not a big person. This happened at least a dozen times. I was still eating when the waitress tried to take my plate. She had taken my knife, put it into another person's plate, then returned it to my plate when I told her I had not finished. When we received the bill, we noticed that we were charged for 3 glasses of the $12.50 chardonnay when my dinner companion had specifically asked for the 9.50 variety. The waitress said that she had not heard my friend. Management made the change which took a while making arrival at the theater later than we had planned. A comedy of errors.
We have been eating at Legal Seafoods since the early 80s. This was the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant.
Service: incredibly slow. A full 10 minute wait for our first drink order. One diner had to wait 10 minutes for her entree after all others were served. Server was friendly but more chatty than service oriented.
Drinks: We ordered a bottle of white wine for 3 of us to share. Server poured the entire bottle among the three glasses. Assuming 6 glasses per bottle, would have preferred the wine chilled before our second glass was poured.
Food: well below our expectations for Legal. Tuna and bay scallops were totally overcooked. Lemon sole was mushy.
We will give Legal one more try, but not at Park Square.
Really inattentive service. Waitress preoccupied by large group. White wine not kept cold, wrong food delivered, did not comeback and see if we needed anything. Told us twice they were closing early even though they were still seating new tables and we had our food.
The buttered lobster is still wonderful though as were the clams. Food made up for the other deficits.
Joseph is a great asset to restaurant - friendly and knowledgeable. I had an excellent Cajun grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and winter squash with cranberries. Others in party enjoyed their entrees. Would have enjoyed dessert but had to get to theater. Next time.
Took our whole family out to celebrate a birthday. Great food, great service, and the atmosphere is perfect for what we needed. Also *really* appreciate that the restaurant is open until 11 on a weeknight. Waitstaff went out of their way to surprise the birthday 'boy' with an off-menu dessert he loved, and they just did a fabulous job of making everyone feel special (as they always do!) Thank you for a wonderful and memorable night!
We had a wonderful time celebrating my Mother in Laws 70th birthday. Where we were seated there was a terrible glare from the street light. It would have been fine if there was some sort of shade that could have been drawn, however that was not the case. It was extremely busy the night we were there but the staff was very nice, polite and timely.
