Food came out cold. Waiter was nowhere to be found.
First off, let me start off by saying that I’m truly not one to write negative reviews but this was one of worst dining experiences.
My family and I have always loved Legal Seafood. Sadly this is not the Legal Seafood of old or that I remember. The service was unbelievably slow. Although the waiter really was a nice guy, he was so slow and inattentive. We kept having to wave him or someone else down for more water, drinks, etc. Although the appetizers were pretty good, all our meals were just OK at best. Finally the ambience was disappointing, no more fish tanks for the kids to look at and poor overall restaurant configuration.
Not high quality seafood and comparable to an average seafood chain. That explains why I was able to get a reservation last minute on a Sat night in Boston. Overall very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it.
The steamed lobster is great as always, Legal is a go to place for lobster!
The holiday season seemed to impact the service. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time. Otherwise, wonderful as usual.
One of the people in our party was very disappointed with how cold her meal was when it arrived. Another person felt uncomfortable and sick after eating, ending up in the emergency room at Beth Israel. We left a concert as her symptoms were immediate. Legal Seafoods has always been extremely good in the past and we have eaten at most locations. Sorry to say that this was a bad experience.
What a great place to meet visitors from out of town. It is an easy drive for me from Duxbury AND the coupon for parking is greatly appreciated. Would be even nicer if you had senior discounts...the average age at our table was 75!
Our servers were great....helpful and fun!
Thanksgiving Dinner was great!
Service was incredible, but the food was just so so... Not the Legal experience I've had many times before. Was definitely not impressed. The service was, as always, fantastic though.
The lobster ravioli with pan seared shrimp was to die for. We had the Rhode Island Style Calimari for an appetizer. It was excellent but would have been better with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce. My son had the Atlantic Scallops which he said was great but he was dipping them in my lobster ravioli sauce lol. Deserts were the Boston Creme Pie and Bread Pudding. Both were huge portions and delicious. Phenomenal service by Cellistina?
Good food, great service, but very loud atmosphere
The staff here are among the best: friendly, considerate and very accommodating. Our waiter name is Jame and he helps us with a surprised birthday night. We had a great time. Great food and value!
Awesome! Love the grilled assorted dish the most!
A bit pricey, but the trout was well prepared and an adequate serving size. Legal venues are always a bit loud, and this was similar to others we have visited. A disabled person would have a long set of stairs to navigate to reach the bathrooms. Same for a person with a few cocktails on board.
We were treated very well and it was a fabulous meal!
We arrived at 5:30 with a reservation on a Saturday night. We were fortunate to be seated in Kenny's section. We had tickets for an 8:00 show in the Theatre District and wanted to be done by 7:30. Kenny was fantastic! He asked why we were visiting and made our experience special. We had everything from appetizer to dessert and knowing we were not in a rush, he allowed us time to finish each course and enjoy before bringing the next. Everything was delicious, we had a crab cake appetizer, I had the lobster ravioli with seared shrimp and we shared a key lime pie for dessert. Everyone who goes here should try the lobster ravioli!! Everything was delicious and it was the perfect stop for my boyfriends 50th birthday before enjoying a show!
I had switched about 2 years ago and was only going to dinner at Legal Crossing- the atmosphere is so cool. I was going for a late lunch with a friend, and the lunch menu there was awful, so I decided to go back to my original Legal. i am so glad I did! The baked scrod and lobster roll were absolutely fabulous! Unfortunately, the waiter was not too friendly but the food made up for it.
I cannot wait to go back now!
My dinner was very good. I highly recommend the clam chowder. The restaurant is large but very welcoming with a nice decor. The waitress did a great job.
It was my birthday and I put that in my reservation notes
We had limited time because we were going to a show
We were seated by the door and it was chilly from the breeze coming in
My food arrived cold and undercooked
The manager brought it out and didn’t even acknowledge the errors. It took so long to come back out that I didn’t have time to eat it. Our appetizer came out right before we were leaving
My sangria drink was horrible
Not worth the money at all!!
Although the wait staff was excellent, nothing else about this restaurant was. I left feeling depressed about how far this chain has fallen. I ordered the crab cake and steamed shrimp wontons. Both arrived at room temperature and both were stuffed heavily with filler rather than the fresh lump crab or diced fresh shrimp of the past. In another recent experience at this particular Legals, I ordered the Dover sole and received a thoroughly fried, dried-out piece of fish. If it was ever actually sole, that delicate fish was totally destroyed. I will not be returning to Legal Seafoods.
Amazing food, amazing server!
Food was very good, chowder & side of sautéed Brussels Sprouts, then grilled shrimp. We were very satisfied, waiter was very friendly and courteous. Considering other seafood restaurants in area, this was a good value.
Always a solid, quality meal. Plenty to choose from. Great value.
Here the focus is on great food and service at a reasonable price. The ambience is consistent with that goal - nothing special, but fine.
C’était super bon niveaux qualité prix.
Good for an average meal
The staff was very nice
Food was pretty good. Service was slow. Some staff members seemed new or inexperienced. Nothing exceptional about experience.
everyone in the party had warm food and the vegetables were cold. Might have been better if it were hot.
We checked in 10 minutes before our reservation time the host went on about their business while I was still eating for them to finish their conversation with the manager who was complaining about other tables in front of me. Finally they told me to wait. I waited for about 15 minutes then noticed other people were being seated that just walked in. I asked if my table was ready and was sat right away. I couldn’t help but think that I was forgotten about. The server was amazing and made great recommendations. The oysters were out of this world and the wine was terrific. The waiter joked with us and was able to relate to us being from Texas. One person ordered clam chowder to come out before his entree but it was served at the same time. Our food was presented to the wrong table then brought over. When the food was delivered the food runner started to argue with the server and the manager. Every dish was as expected, but a bit overpriced. The best entree at the table was the scallops. Although some of the review seams like a rant I know we will be back before we go home in 2 days. I recommend coming here for a great meal. Dinner for 4 was about $200.
Our 2nd visit in as many days. Food excellent. Have to watch for Bones in Halibut Steak, more than just the main set of bones in middle of the steak. Service good but servers don't seem to be very familiar with the wines. They honored our seating preference both visits whoch we greatly appreciate.
Wonderful dinner. No skimping on portions. Loved the fish as was with no extra sauce as recommended by the server. Wine overpriced but that's typical.
I usually like Legal Sea Food - Park Square. Yesterday I went to the Georgian Wine Festival at 2 p.m. and had late lunch. The wine event was terrific -- wonderful wines, especially Qvevri wines and appetizers they served were unexpected generous and delicious. Lunch upstairs dining room was good -- I ordered my favorite Lobster roll. However, I felt I was cheated for fees parking. I was informed that the parking fee at Parking Mart was $10 on Sunday with Legal's validation. However, a man at the front desk refused to give me a validation on my parking ticket. He said that it is available after 5 p.m. Yes, he was right but that applies to during the week not the weekend. Instead of $10 I ended up paying $25, that ended my entire experience sour. I'd like them to follow the rules fairly to everyone as advertised.
Found the food mediocre for the price. Clam chowder was more potatoes than clams, and you should definitely be upgrading from the cod on fish and chips which tasted a bit chlorinated. The crab cake was great. Service was ok. Saturday night, restaurant not that busy but we found the server sporadic in her check-ins so were left waiting a few times.
I was all good! Baked stuffed shrimp was good!
We dine at Legal regularly, although the Copley location more often than Park Square, and left disappointed. We sat at the bar and waited quite a while to order drinks, had to ask them to check on our appetizers, the bread was different and seemed stale. Overall a disappointing experience.
Chowder served cold. Lobster rubbery and over cooked.
Shrimp also over cooked and tough.
Not our usual experience with this chain
We arrived on a Sunday evening and we're surprised it wasn't busy. Our waiter was so slow we didn't get our drinks for 30 minutes after ordering. Food was poor quality and not s expected.
We had a generally good experience, with the food and service quite good. However, it took a while for the Legal’s person sent by the desk to find our table, with at least three “follow me”s leading us to an unavailable table. That got annoying after the third trip to nowhere. Didn’t see a category for this problem, so I put it under “Ambiance.” Once we were seated, though, everything went fine.
We're big fans of LSF in general. The food is good and the service is always impeccable and most of the menu is available gluten-free.
This is our second visit to the Park Plaza location and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was up to Legal's usual standards.
This particular LSF has a much more extensive wine list than most of them. And if they still have it, get the seasonal pumpkin spice martini for dessert!
The experience would have been all 5 stars if restaurant management had intervened in a situation that quickly spun out of control involving roaming toddlers through the dining area. A couple let their two under age 3 kids just wander independently through the restaurant. It was an accident waiting to happen as the wait staff had to dodge them at every turn; not to mention the fact that I did not want a table visit from a dirty faced toddler who was being followed around by his equally dirty faced mother. The manager should have reigned that situation in.
