Legal Sea Foods - Long Wharf
Very good food, atmosphere and service. I rated it 4 stars rather than 5 because the salad was nothing special. The sea food was very good.
Great food and great service!
The service and food were excellent. The wait for the table when several twos were empty and ready was not
My dining experience at this restaurant was very good starting with our attentive server and fine food. I will be back when I am in the area.
Overall ok and would have rated higher as compared to our hometown but this review was compared to other places we dined at in Boston. The overall experience didn’t live up to the hype
The best seafood meal we have ever had and service was SUPERB!
Excellent food and service
Great food and Michael was great
Great food and superb service - highly recommended
Our entrance to this Legal location was decidedly odd. We walked across the street from our visit to the Aquarium (yes, to dine on seafood with only a tinge of guilt), and through the revolving door. About 2 feet from the door is the host desk, where people were checking in. So we were instantly crammed into the backs of strangers as we tried to get out of the door, which was revolving behind us with more people coming in. This should be an easy fix for them. It's a stupid arrangement, and not welcoming at all.
Ah. The food. It's Legal Sea Foods. It was great. My husband had a dozen oysters, beautifully presented, and a Greek "side" salad that was too large to finish. I had baked stuffed shrimp; delicious. The only negatives might be that the rolls, usually delicious, were a bit over-baked, and we'd asked for everything to come together, and it didn't, but we forgive.
The crab cakes lived up to the hype! The chowder was good and paired well with their fresh dinner rolls. The seafood casserole was surprisingly buttery and decadent. A great meal with great service!
Good food that is consistent. Eat there every time In Boston has
Haven’t been there in a couple of years...this time it was. Ear perfection..instant seating following reservation, great Irish waiter Shaun, great food and drink....just a great experience. Congrats to Legal Seafood...👍
The main course was not worth the Price. the swordfish came with uninviting and sour sidedishes, decoreted with way too much Balsamico. My guests ordered the Chilean seabass which came with tastless beans. Overall a disappointing experience.
Good location and service. Food was tasty and served quickly. Ambiance was somewhat sterile but was okay
So many gluten free options for me! I had the Lazy Lobster and I never would have known the stuffing was gf! Plus, it was filled with large shrimp and scallops! Just perfect! Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals as well.
Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. We followed the suggestion of the waiter, and ordered a combination seafood dish. The shrimp was rubbery. The calamari was inedible. The clams were probably okay. The fish was missing. Overall, disappointing.
Everything was great, except for the Bloody Mary. I forced myself to drink mine, my wife couldn’t drink hers, but they didn’t charge us for it.
I've been eating at Legal Seafood for over 40 years. The quality has remained first rate and consistent across all of its sites. However, I mourn the loss of seafood chowder at some of its restaurants. This great culinary tradition should not be cut from the menu.
Great food, nice service, very noisy
Had a great experience at the location. Even though we had reserved a table at a certain time, we still had to wait a few minutes. They were extremely busy. It happens. Our waiter was very courteous and above all very attentive. One thing I did not like...seeing young kids sitting at the bar with their parents. I do not find that at all acceptable. But overall, we were very satisfied with our lunch.
Excellent quality food and customer service as it used to be everywhere in America but is rare these days. The service was friendly, polite, efficient, professional, timely - just the best.
Desperately needs some cleaning!
Shrimp "stuffed with crab meat" was all stuffing, no crab... and was very overcooked. Grilled trout was good, but the side of green beans, canned corn, and canned chickpeas was bland and watery. Quite disappointing for the price.
I think we all go into legal seafood knowing what it is. It’s sort of a fancy expensive version of red lobster. I don’t really have anything here to complain about. The weather was really nice, the foods exactly what I expected. I would know one thing that if you are going there for local seafood the only kind of seafood it comes in there is whitefish. Everything else is brought in. Also the waiter told me that the other ones in the city that might be more convenient have the exact same food.
We ordered two cooked lobster, but got one wrong, for a higher price.
Overall it was okay, but too expensive.
When we paid and, das usual in Germany, included tue tip, the service cheated us, by taking money off and insisting, we hadn't put enough in. Never again! Touristenfalle!!!
Highly recommend! Great food and great service in this busy restaurant in a beautiful location on the waterfront. The clam chowder, steak and lobster were all super delicious. Eat here!
Great spot in a lovely area of Boston. Well trained staff.
Fabulous! Delicious crab cakes and chowder
Fantastic food! Great location! Staff was very accommodating during a very busy time. Able to seat our party of 13 together even though we weren’t expecting that. Originally reserved 2 tables for our party. Everyone in our party had an exceptional meal and service was excellent. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Boston!
Great food, great service.
The air conditioning was extremely strong and they couldn’t help getting it off.
Lovely waitress. Lots of gluten free options. Attentive service.
Great food, lots of variety on menu. Will always choose Legal Sea Foods on our Boston trips.
Booth seating was broken and kept slamming down every time I moved on my seat. Lobster roll was overpriced for portion and the mayo was completely non existent and looked like it was melted off and was just oil. The serving was stingy and the seasoning was not good. The experience and the food was not worth what we paid and I will definitely will not be going to a legal seafood establishment again.
Great location. Close to the water and within walking distance of several hotels, seaport area and the ferry lets off right at the restaurant. Food is always reliably good.
My first time here. Yes, it is a chain restaurant but I was very happy with the quality of the food. Couldn't decide between the Striped Bass (seasonal) or the crab cakes, but my server recommended the latter since they are known for crab cakes. And yes, they were very good! Just enough filler to hold them together. Prices are in line with other restaurants that serve quality seafood. I would definitely go back.
Excellent server and great food! Thanks!
Our first time here, and food was outstanding. My wife and I both had the NE clam chowder which was great. I had tuna which was equally as good. My wife had mussels which were fine.
To accommodate our flight arrival time, I made reservations a month early for 10PM (thinking the restaurant was open until 11PM - my mistake). While waiting in the airport to depart to Boston, the restaurant called and told us the kitchen closed at 10PM and that they could not serve us. If we could arrive by 9:30, they could accommodate us. Although the call on the day of the reservation seemed late, it was appreciated as it was not my intention to arrive as a kitchen is closing. We arrived at 9:30 and were seated.
We ordered a soon as possible and the clam chowder was promptly served. However, our entrees were served soon afterwards and before we were half way finished with the chowder. It would have been nice to have had a few more minutes to finish.
The Open Table app does not allow reservations for times that are not available. It would be nice if the app did not allow reservations after a certain time to prevent someone from making a reservation as the kitchen is closing.
