Family outing, staff most accommodating to small children with food choices and service. Legal’s food is always dependable, great experience
We had a reservation to sit in the dining area, but Janelle (bartender) was so nice, we stayed and had dinner in the bar.
Vibrant, friendly, good service, good food. Fun busy place.
Thank you for being knowledgeable and accommodating for food allergies!
Food was adequate and the service was OK,however the food was brought up far too quickly, which gave the impresssion that the restaurant was far to keen on getting covers in rather than letting people relax and enjoy the occasion.
Even asked by the waiter if we wanted to take the wine home instead of drinking up in the restaurant.
We didn’t expect “ fast food “ service at this place.
Great food and service.
Boston was very pricey and this restaurant was no exception
this is one of my favorite restaurants - although a chain in Boston, its awesome, and the Wharf is my favorite of all their locations. They are so organized and turn tables quickly - I can imagine trying to go without a reservation though..... so unless you are mid week and very early or late, Make a reservation. I tried the Haddock on Monday - it was cooked to perfection, as was the broccoli - hard to get broccoli perfect! - my favorite is the Crab Cake Combo.
Crab cakes were very good, but the fish in the fish variety selection was kind of over-cooked. Scallops a little rubbery; fish a little tough, shrimp were good. Not bad, but not great.
Nice ambiance and the wait staff was very pleasant and helpful.
A lunch visit after the New England Aquarium. Great place to bring your kids to, they are very accommodating. Made the reservation, and added the kid seats on site without any issues. Great service team, they were attentive and helpful.
Wonderful food. Halibut was excellent.
Always have excellent service and always so kind to our 2 kids!
Pricey. Food was not great. Felt like a tourist trap.
We loved our server, she was great. The food was delicious.
This is our 3rd weekend trip to Boston and we go to Legal Seafoods at least twice ea time. Crab cakes and tuna are AMAzING. As is the king crab. And service was A++. Would recommend reservations as its very popular!
Emma was great
Excellent service for our large party (11). Food was good/very good. Several loud tables close by with small, misbehaving children. Certainly not the restaurant's fault. Otherwise no complaints at all.
The gluten free rolls are fabulous.
I chose this restaurant because I read about it's allergy friendly reviews. They came through and our server was very knowledgeable about peanut and nut allergies. She also double checked with the kitchen. The food came quickly and portions were big. Standard fare but safety and trust were our top priorities. I highly recommend eating here if you have food allergies.
It was my birthday dinner. I had a lemon drop. Good. Not as sweet as other places. Refreshing.
The food was tasty. We started with buffalo popcorn chicken. It was good, but not what we were expecting. The popcorn chicken was plain and the sauce was buffalo. The sauce was a little too tart.
Also had clam chowder. Not as flavorful as I expected from the stellar reviews I read.
We had stuffed shrimp casserole and shrimp and garlic. Yummy!
We were wedged in next to a table which talked loudly, but so do we.
We had dessert. Boston cream pie and vanilla ice cream. Yummy, although a little too much chocolate sauce on the Boston cream pie. My daughter took some of the chocolate sauce and put it on her ice cream. All was eaten!
A little disappointed though that no one said Happy Birthday.
Nourriture fraîche et succulente
Food was very good but lack of light at the table. Service ok.
Would go back though.
Food and atmosphere wasn't what we expected. Reservation was for 8, we arrived 15 minutes early and still didn't get seated until 8:20. Food wasn't anything spectacular or special.
Our server was great and friendly, but atmosphere was more of a chain fast food seafood rather then a special seafood restaurant.
Never disappointed. Love the chowder and the cioppino and the raw bar is great, too!
Great food. Little pricey, but due to poor exchange rate. Ashley our waitress was very helpful.
Our dinner at legal seafood‘s was outstanding. I started with the clam chowder which was delicious and then had The king crab legs. My daughter who doesn’t eat seafood had an awesome chicken Caesar salad and a side of mashed potatoes. Don’t ask! She said that the mashed potatoes were like heaven in her mouth. The stand out was Ashley our server. Ashley was so attentive and professional. It is in a great location and I would definitely go back!
We were a difficult table due to three small children but the server knew what to do and had the kids stuff ordered and on the table quickly. Everything was well prepared and cooked perfectly. View was great of the water and boats. Also we were given a large booth that helped contain all the kids and made for an easier dinning experience. Strong work all around.
Both the food and service were very good. This is a welcome change from the last time I came. I would not have even come back except that the location is very convenient and pretty to meet someone from out of town. I was very happy that both the food and service were so much better!
The food was good and the service was great. The ambiance was nice and was bustling but on a cold night it was warm. I had the seafood cassarole which was great. The clam chowder was decent, but I’ve had much better in Cape Cod- the king of clam chowder. The only negative I would say was the lighting. It wasn’t adequate. I think candles at the table or a direct light over the table would eliminate this problem. We definitely would go back.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere nice and friendly, but the food was way below the average for this type of restaurant. We ordered grilled Haddock, rice and broccoli on the side. Both fish and rice were overcooked and very dry. I've had lunch and dinner at this restaurant many times in the past and always loved the quality of the food, but this time the experience was not very positive.
I was a little worried that Legal Seafood would be more of a chain experience. It did not matter that there are several locations. The restaurant was run with professionalism and intentional care.
The Food was exactly what I wanted for a first time Boston visitor. The waiter was patient and careful to lead us.
I highly suggest enjoying a cup of chowder and a a lobster roll. ENJOY!
Great place to have lunch and enjoy Boston !
Amazing place and great food!!!
went for my friends bday, and they organized it so well!! came singing for her too!!
francesca was our waitress and was really nice, sweet plus gave amazing suggestions! and patrick was really good too!! helped with all the requests.
After visiting Boston for the week it was a nice place to finish our holiday with fresh local seafood. Quick service by friendly staff members.
French fried and Fried seafood was overcooked, which never happened?
Services still top one with all other locations.
Changed menu - limited item choices. Bar area currently undergoing construction - should be completed end of April. Renovation sounds great - looking forward to seeing it when done,
The food was fantastic! We had the best waiter, Rick G. He was very personable & friendly. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. We will be back the next time we visit Boston!!
We were disappointed for two reasons: our entrees came out while we were half way through our salad and there were constant “patrols” through the dining room monitoring where we were in getting through our dinner. Annoying.
Everything we had was great — everything tuna, seafood casserole, crab dip, and key lime pie. We used to go all the time when we went to college in Boston, and went back for a nostalgia trip. Food was well worth it.
First time dining, and it was awesome!
Service was ah-mazing!
