New England Clam Chowder
Half Pound Maine Lobster Roll
warm butter-poached or traditional with lemon mayo, french fries & coleslaw
Excellent food and cocktails and excellent service!
We tried two of the meals under the heading that the chefs were testing these. They were very, very, very good. Fantastic portions of Maine scallops and swordfish and so well prepared!
Great waiter, hostess, and great meals & drinks.
Indifferent bartender was miffed we only ordered clams and bisque and that we took up his valuable real estate at the bar.
Forgot request for extra cocktail sauce and was steamed he had to actually walk to the kitchen when politely reminded him again.
At $70 for some apps and 1 glass of wine we really don’t need a rude tude on the side. Management needs to have a meaningful chat with this detrimental server.
Bartenders are the best!
Great food at a fair price as always. Service is quality and consistent
We had a terrific lunch after a Duck Tour and before heading to the aquarium! Food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was so nice. Group of 7 had a great round table booth!
Kinda funny that our kids love to go-to Legal Seafood, but the kids love their food too!
Visiting in Boston for the weekend and was told to hit up Legal Sea Foods while I was in town. It DID NOT disappoint. Peter, our server, was fantastic. Great personality and VERY attentive. Started with a hibiscus mule, the clam chowder, and fish tacos, big hits. Delicious. Hubby got the lobster roll which he thoroughly enjoyed, and I got the sole on the test kitchen menu. Portions were HUGE and well worth the value. Not to mention the food was OUTSTANDING. Finished by taking a piece of Boston cream pie to the hotel room, and devoured it. Would 10000% dine here again.
The food was great, location in Boston at Long Wharf is awesome; however, the service was appalling. The waitress was rude and literally needed to be loudly flagged down for service…for a party of six!!! I will be heading to other seafood restaurants when in Boston the next time. Shame on Legal Seafood for such HORRIBLE staff and service.
Dinner at Legal Sea Food was excellent. The cup of New England Clam Chowder exceeded my expectations. However, because the restaurant closes at 9pm, we felt a little rushed to finish dinner and leave.
We had a great dinner and the food was really good. We were prepared for longer waits but it was very long at times…..20-30 minutes before we got a drink and over an hour for dinners. But, we did enjoy the dinner and the waiter was very nice. I would go again.
Waited 15 minutes past reservation time. Then waited 10 minutes at the table just to get water. Staff was not helpful. When I asked to see my waiter, I was told I’d only waited for 8 minutes.
Excellent server, great food and drinks. We were satisfied
The food was amazing... We got calamari as an appetizer and it tasted awesome.. I got shrimp scampi and it was very good. I've had better but it wasn't bad either.. Husband got steak tips and he loved it. The drinks was also very good.
Lobster Rolls are to die for! Was so good came back the next night
We haven’t had dinner here in quite awhile. Tonight’s dinner experience was everything we could have wanted. The service was outstanding, the food great! Our waiter made suggestions for our meal that made our dinner even better. Thanks!
The food was fast, delicious and the staff was great. Will be going back on next trip.
A great experience, as always.
Our waitress, Jocelyn, was beyond phenomenal. She gave a couple recommendations that were spot on. The seafood was very fresh and good. Had a dish off the test kitchen menu; OMG. When I return to Boston, I will definitely visit again.
We made a reservation so we were seated quickly at a high top great table. Our waiter was attentive and always had water refills coming. He got busier at the end of our dinner and check out was a tiny bit slow. Dinner was delicious. We had-Lobster Mac (1-10 solid 10), Filet & Scallops (10 as well), Crusted Salmon (Another 10!!!).
Great family weekend spot for lunch or dinner!
My wife had crab cakes and they were excellent! I had grilled haddock and not to impressed with it. Very oily plate. Nothing like I usually have with that meal when we go. Kids meal was grilled cheese and looked really good. Till the next time we go back!
The food is excellent. I recommend the Oysters Rockefeller. The scallops and lobster were excellent! The service at the bar and our waitress were excellent and made sure we had a great experience. Can’t wait to go back.
So disappointed in our dining experience. Fish tacos were soggy and cold, taco shell burnt. Half chicken was overcooked, tasted like it had been sitting for hours, green beans limp and cold.
‘Blah’ Nothing ‘Special’, certainly ‘Forgetable’
The food was good overall. Meets the Legal standards over the years. The place has gotten pretty run down given the high traffic it gets. Service was friendly but not that attentive.
We have to eat here when we are in town. Never disappoints. Food delicious. Staff attentive. Lively ambiance!
We had a table of 6 on a Saturday night. We were served quickly and efficiently. The server was knowledgeable and helped one of our party navigate gluten free options with ease. The food was scrumptious! Legal Sea Food at Long Wharf is and has been one of our family favorites for years. They certainly met all of our expectations.
Had a great time celebrating moms birthday. Service was great and food was delicious. Clam chowder was so good.
Had a great meal at the legal Seafood at Long Wharf.
Our server made a good night great.
A must visit if your in Boston
Food was not great. Wait staff was not very attentive. Our table was right next to the kitchen and do to kitchen noise was very difficult to have a conversation. There has to be a better seafood place in Boston, unfortunately we didn't find it.
Great location.. cozy and relaxing
The food was fresh and absolutley delicious. The staff were all super nice and very attentive. Hand the steamed lobster, lobster roll, clam chowder, and the crab cakes. I have to say everything really was on point. I will definitely be coming here again next time I'm in boston
A bit touristy, but you can't beat their lobster rolls!
We were sat right in front of the doors with a 5:00 pm reservation. Because people were coming in it was freezing and we immediately asked to be moved. The manager said he would move us…. The waiter came and said might as well order a drink while we wait. The manager never came back and we finally asked our waiter to ask him if he found something . He just blew us off. Very rude. He never apologized or returned at all. I Would never go back. Treated like you don’t matter is unforgivable.
The service was unreliable at best. Waiter didn’t know the market price of an item. Change over as we were eating our meal. New waiter never brought the dessert that we ordered and never brought our bill. We left money on the table.
Very good, but my crab roll was a bit dry with just crab and a roll, no dressing. All good, but not quite as wonderful as I'd remembered from 60 years ago!!
Great food and friendly service. Unfortunately, a fire alarm, apparently connected to an adjacent building, went off early in our meal and lasted for several minutes until turned off by firefighters arriving at the other building. Since we were sitting right next to one of the alarms, we were not able to have any conversation over that noise for several minutes. The manager stopped by twice to apologize and I am not sure there is anything else they could have done
One note on the menu. The crab cake starter for $12 and the crab cake sampler for $39 were virtually identical except the sampler had a few grilled shrimp and scallops plus a small bowl of rice. In the future, I would get just the crab cake starter as a much better value, and if needed, add some small side to that
Our table was really dark due to lightbulb burned out overhead. Fire alarm went off and took awhile to turn off. Food was ok, nothing great. Dessert menu was weak.
