Legal Sea Foods - Long Wharf
We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “#1 Best Seafood Restaurant” (USA Today, 2013), “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
They ran out of shrimp! :(
Great food! The broth for the steamers could be more flavorful but otherwise amazing.
Food was good and our waiter was super friendly and attentive.
Sides werent as good. Nor the appetizers. The only thing good was the lobster. Soda wasn't great neither.
Always a favorite. The food is always amazing. Each time we dare to order something we've not had before, we're never disappointed. The staff was considerate and friendly, even for a group of 8 with 4 kids. Great place.
We were seated promptly and the server came over and introduced himself. The food was timely served and the one dish that was specially prepared because of food allergy’s was served by a manager. Their consideration of the food allergy issues was much appreciated and all the food was done as ordered. Great meal as usual from Legal’s.
Food and service were great. Waitress Cindy was awesome!
Great view, great staff, wait time is reasonable and overall a perfect night.
Tables were on top of each other, booths definitely better but the times I have been here the food is always consistent and good.
Great food and service. Reservation was required, we were seated immediately
It was a quiet afternoon due to an impending snow storm.
If there is one thing I'd request of Legal Seafoods, it's to bring back the tortilla/goat cheese/apple salad. Always a favorite. It went off the menu, then back on, and is now off again. PLEASE bring it back and keep it!
Excellent food and location
Our table for 2 was in the worst location. The dining area was very cramped and tables too close together. Had a lot of close foot traffic in front of our table from staff and customers coming and going. Table was bumped during our visit. Not an enjoyable lunch. Too many young children at this location. If you go, request a booth. Menu items different from other Legal locations. Will not be returning to the Legal's Long Wharf in the future.
My wife and I each got some chowder and split the fish and chips which made for a really enjoyable lunch before our aquarium visit.
I am a huge seafood person and I am totally shocked by this place. The best seafood I have ever had. Quality and quantity
The food is outstanding. I always get the surf and turf, with the lobster, steak is so tender and flavorful, you do not need steak sauce with it. My boyfriend always gets the haddock Recommend asa nice date night out.
You can’t have just one dozen!
I’ve been to Legal Seafoods many times and in many location including this one. It is consistently very good quality... you know what to expect when you come. I will highlight that the server (I wish I could remember his name) was exceptional the night we were there. Very attentive and informative.
As ALWAYS, the food was awesome. I had grilled haddock, broccoli and jasmine rice. Everything was perfect. Our waiter John was friendly knowledgable and happy to serve us.
Fried Haddock was too well done. Shrimp
Dinners were good. No alcohol and a $117 tab was a
Bit high in my opinion, 3 entrees and 1 app.
I was in a party of 8 from out of town and we wanted to enjoy some seafood. Not Only did we enjoy it, the service was out of this world. Our waiter, Richard was phenomenal. He took great care of us, shared laughs, and made us feel right at home. Service was professional, personable, and I would highly recommend Legal Seafoods at Long Wharf to everyone, especially if Richard is working!
Had a friend in from Kansas City who had to have a Legal Lobster. He was not disappointed. The server carefully "dismantled" it making it easy for my friend. The crabcake, grilled shrimp and scallop combo was perfect as well as the potato side with the lobster ( I had to eat it as he was full with the 2.5 pound lobster). As usual, the food was consistent quality.
It was cold in the bar and resturant - I had requested a table in the bar at a window, but wow, the chill from the window (it was snowing outside) was nippy. The waiter kindly turned up the heating, and it did warm up a bit; but in reality I shouldn’t have had to ask! Great food and service
our server seemed to be pushing us out the door the moment we arrived. The food was good. The environment is fine. Service was poor
Great food the friendliest waitress. Fun time
Service was great, as usual. My waitress was awesome and really catered to me, my guest and the experience itself. HOWEVER, the young girl who seated us, not even a smile. The young man who I first spoke to, didn’t greet or ask how I was until I asked him. These are things I’m looking for immediately from folks who are supposed to be customer service-based. The bread rolls were hard and not warm. Seemed stale, like from the day before. I had my toddler w me and she had one roll. I didn’t send them back bc it was a quick lunch and we had to get going. I ordered a fish sandwich for lunch and the sandwich itself seemed thrown together. Huge piece of lettuce and a huge slice of tomato and not a big piece of fish. Bread wasn’t as soft as it usually is. Why cut the veggies so big? To mask the tiny piece of fried fish inside? The fries were already cold when it got to me. The baby’s meal, a simple cheese ravioli. ALL of the raviolis were opened from overboiling and the pasta itself was hard to cut which means they were clearly over cooked. This is TOTALLY unacceptable! Did the cooks not care as much about my meal as they did the patrons next to me whose sandwich was so lovely? I frequent LEGAL sea food all over Boston, usually for dinner w my family. This was a less than stellar lunch and that isn’t good. It isn’t legal. I didn’t have time to have a do-over, send food back and reorder. I left feeling unsatisfied w my meal. The only thing that was good was my red sangria but not the best I’ve had at legals. I’ve had better ones. Just Do Better.
Excelente calidad de preparación de Mariscos, puede mejorar limpieza del salón y mejorar un poco atención al cliente.
Excellent overall. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Not rushed at all. Very nice night.
Some feedback on the meals was marginal and when asked one of my guests said they wouldn't order it again
Great food ideas could not expect anything more. Our server Anthony was awesome
We had an awesome waitress, Vladia. Her great customer service mad our evening very special.
Excellent service and wonderful food. Perfect spot for a nice meal with friends.
We were looking for a quiet place and found a man a room away from us very loud. We ordered the fishermen's platter to split and had 4 small scallops. We have liked this in the past but found the portion size very small. The waitress was pleasant but didn't seem knowledgeable about the menu. The location is great but the food average and overpriced.
Lobster bisque was tepid, Lobster linguine was tasty.
Wonderful lobster dinner. Perfectly prepared. Seated promptly. Service adequate.
A great place for dinner. Food was above par as expected and the reason we went to Legal Sea Food! Service was very good, food came quickly and everything was better than expected.
Excellent service and great food. NE Clam Chowder is excellent.
Always great food and kid friendly at this location across from the New England aquarium. I asked for my favorite dish which was not on the menu and the chef graciously made it for me! You never feel rushed and the service is excellent.
Great quality seafood, they make an excellent maple old fashion and the service is outstanding
Legal has great quality fish, but then they drown it in rich but bland sauces. Simpler would be much better.
