Legal Sea Foods - King of Prussia Ratings and Reviews
The ambiance was great. The service was superb. The food was lackluster to say the least. For the prices that were charged, the food should be cooked as near to perfect as possible. Unfortunately, my meal was not. Would I say that I would never go there again? No, I wouldn't say that. I will say that instead of it being my first choice, now it would be a second or third choice.
This was our first time at Legal Sea Foods, it won't be our last. From the moment we entered the door, we knew we were in for a special treat. Everyone was so friendly.
The atmosphere was relaxed, our server was great and most importantly, our food was excellent.
Overall we had a wonderful time as this was our Valentine's Day dinner. The food was good and the waite staff was outstanding but I would not recomend trying to pay for your LEGAL SEAFOOD's GIFT CARD. As we were paying for our meal we were informed that the gift card we had presented had a zero balance thank God we had the register recipt with us that showed a $100.00 balance. After some investigating, the manager, ever so discreatly accused us of knowing using a empty card and then question the if purcherer knew of any problem with the Card. After the 30 min. interigation we were told that the card history showed that the card was "swiped" then 30 seconds "swiped" that took the balance off the card. I can not recommend this restaurant.
Service was average. The waitress was pleasant but not as attentive as we would expect. They missed serving the soup to one of our group, but were quite apologetic and did end up bringing out the soup after the main entree was served (as requested) without a charge to us. Overall pricey for what you get.
Great food and great service as always. Legal Seafood continues to set the standard for high quality seafood in the area. The food is always fresh and prepared as requested. The wait staff continue to be attentive and responsive to ensure patrons have a fine dining experience.
on a saturday nite i felt more like a "number" than an individual customer dining with my daughter. food was excelllent but the service significantly took away from the experience. it's a great place for kids. where else do you see lobster on the children's menu? but i've done better at legal seafood when going at lunch time when not so crowded.
i took my boyfriend here for a birthday lunch. i ordered from the raw bar-the oysters were amazing; fresh and shucked perfectly and served with a horseradish cocktail sauce and some other sauce that tasted a little like pickle, but was really good. also had the ajour pear cocktail-this i really liked. it wasn't sweet or too fruity. i ordered the scallop and mushroom ravioli and my b/f had the lobster roll. he loves his, mine was good, but not great. the sauce was a little too heavy. service was good, but nothing to write home about; they could have really stepped it up in my opinion. but we did get a free dessert since it was b/f birthday-bananas foster was awesome. i would definitely go here again.
disappointing compared to Boston. I ordered crab cake combo and received it on an 8" plate with salad without dressing. When I was in Boston I had this dish (in September) and there was more food for $28.00. The shrimp and scallops were smaller and there were less of them. I drove 45 minutes from southern New Jersey to get there.
The food is very good ... excellent even ... but when the kitchen ran out of the roasted beets that were supposed to be the side dish for my meal - it would have been nice to have been asked what I preferred as a replacement instead of being given the bland rice pilaf.
The noise level was a bit high as we were seated near the enterance to the kitchen, but it was not so terrible that it interfered with conversation.
Every so often we try a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Now I think I've eaten multiple times at around 5 different locations. I am always disappointed. For the price they charge I expect a lot more. Contrast that with Bonefish where I have never been disappointed with the food or service. Bonefish is consistently great and reasonably priced whereas I always feel I'm paying for the name at Legal Sea foods and not the food.
We do not like the tip already in the calculator starting at 15, then 18, then 22%. We think it should not be in the calculator and should be written in without the waiter standing over you.
This has been our second time with the tip situation. We liked all the times before better when we did not encouncer this.
2nd time there, but not much better than the 1st. Food better, but this time service was lacking. Waiter was cocky, made poor recommendations, forgot soup on our order (but did not charge), messed up veg, complained about their own computer system, and then said he'd take our picture in the lobby and never came back.
My wife and I love Legal. This was the first time that we have gone where the food didn't have much taste, the waiter was MIA for most of the evening. Tables on both sides of us were sat twice before we got our through our dinner. Most of the time was spent waiting for drinks, then our food. Once he brought our checks out and came to take the money and tip it was almost a half hour until he came back to the table.
I'm hoping the next time we go back it's not like that because we'll think twice about returning to the King of Prussia location again.
Great New England Clam Chowder. I am looking forward to trying the crab soup on my next visit! My hubby had the fried fish sandwich, and he said this was the very first time he had a sandwich like this and tasted more fish than the "fry." I had the crab roll sandwich which was very good.
None of the food disappoints. Very good. Very crowded but honored our reservation on time. The wait staff seemed very busy and sometimes not on top of everything, but they were very pleasant and accomodating. Overall, a very good experience and everyone loved their food.
drinks were fabulous Sangria and apricot side bar wonderful
3 of our 6 guests had chipolte sauce on their fish and it was too hot for them. None finished their meals...none took leftovers. Salmon and trout wonderful with coconut curry sauce. spinach was terrific, Next year if we come back it will be for drinks only.
