I came in 45 minutes before my official reservation, but was able to get a seat at the bar. Great food!
We ate outside so I didn't get to see how lovely the inside of your location is. The waitress was awesome and the food was fabulous as I expected. I'm handicapped and the outside eating area was ok....but this is also my first time out to dinner since right before the pandemic. I did feel like I was having a nice meal and could tune out most of the noise from the street. I'm not sure what they are allowed to do and not do as far as decor but nothing sticks out in my head one way or the other, which I consider ok. It was a birthday I wasn't supposed to have so it was pretty awesome overall.
Excellent good and great service
So good. Great food, drinks, staff. Love the design. We’ll be back!
Legal Crossing is the best place for me to because it is less then a block from the AMC movie theater. As always the menu is so inviting it is hard to pick and choose. My favorite is the 1 pound lobster roll I get mine with the house salad instead of the fries and coleslaw. The ambiance is so comfortable causes single or group eating enjoyable. If you love seafood or indoor or outdoor dining this is the place.
Food cooked to perfection! Service was attentive. I’ll be back soon.
I was looking for good seafood for my guests visiting from the Midwest who know little about seafood except something frozen.
Previously this summer, I visited Cape Cod expecting the freshest seafood literally off the boat. Nothing was decent. That said, I couldn't disappoint my guests this time. If the item is not listed on the menu that afternoon, it validates my hunch that it wouldn't be fresh AND it failed to pass Legal Seafood's rigorous inspection.
So, I hosted my guests at the "go to" Legal Seafood, where I have confidence the meal and service is consistent. Prompt service as always in a very cosy setting.
Pre game celebration to support Miami Dolphins playing in Foxborough, MA.
This was my first time in Boston, my son is going to Tufts University. For our last night here before heading home, I wanted to get some seafood. The presentation of the food was great, but the scallops were over cooked and not seasoned well. I tasted everyone’s food at the table and the best thing to me was the fisherman’s platter. My youngest had the shrimp scampi, it was not seasoned that well.. I have had better shrimp scampi at the Cheesecake Factory. My husband had the stuffed shrimp, I was not impressed at all! Needless to say, when I come back I will not be dining here again!!
I went specifically out of my way to try the warm lobster roll at Downtown Crossing. Arrived on time for my 12:30pm reservation. Restaurant was 60% full. Told the waitress I had a 2pm train. She could not predict how long it would take the kitchen for the warm lobster roll, and suggested the cold lobster roll, as it was faster, so I ordered it. 15 minutes later it came out. It had little to no flavor. What a disappointment!
IT was good food delivered hot and as ordered. Im not a big seafood fan, and as such it was ok.
Great personalized touches. The manager went the extra mile to make sure client happiness.
The lobster roll was excellent . It was a nice location - close to the Hyatt where we were staying. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there.
This is not a great restaurant the service was slow , the food was just ok. The oysters were not very big poor quality, we got the lobster it was good and the clam chowder was ok. This is a poorly run chain restaurant if you have no where else to go it will do but steer clear if you can
What a disaster this dinner was. I’d probably give the food 4-5 stars had 3 out of 4 meals not been under a warmer for 15 minutes. My filet actually was seasoned well, and was a nice cut of steak, but was very over cooked. I’m almost positive the 3 meals were done by the time our server came back to tell my husband that they were out of lobster and he needed to order something else. 3 of the plates were scalding-hot to the touch; my med-rare filet was gray and medium-well, and the fish in the fish tacos were so overdone and hard, it was inedible.
We would have complained, but our server never came back. Someone else had delivered our plates. About 40 minutes later, our server quietly slipped our bill (not even in a cc folder) at the edge of the table and told us to have a nice night.
Never checked on us, never refilled water or drinks after she took the order, never cleared plates, no offer dessert menu.
She just dropped the tab and slunk away.
We left cash, and walked out. Won’t be back.
(There was no host or manager to address our concerns as we left at 9:30 either.)
Food was good. But not great. The waiter was distracted. Missed my order for a glass of wine with my entree. No specials or recommendations. The swordfish was good. The scallops were over cooked.
Once the best meals in a long time. Oysters, Crabcakes, and Half Pound Maine Lobster Roll. Absolutely everything was prepared to Perfection highly recommend this establishment especially if you have a Celiac speech you they provide gluten free buns for the lobster roll outstanding
Great food but very dark. Need to use your phone flashlight to read the menu. Otherwise wonderful
Great food service and amiance
The food was great the menu order changed a little. Used to be lobster mac & cheese in a casserole with melted cheese on top but it was in a split whole lobster.
It was a typical legal seafood experience. They have good quality seafood and a nice selection. Not sure why, but I do love the calamari there. They had people spaced out, staff had masks and they had hand sanitizers.
I really enjoyed it here. Our waiter, Rayan, was very attentive. I highly recommend the stuffiest appetizer and the lobster roll. I would definitely go again when in Boston.
The wait staff was extremely attentive and the food was really good.
Amazing!!! This is our first visit to Boston as a family and this was our first meal. We were blown away by every single item we ordered. We heard this restaurant was amazing, and amazing it was! Excellent service too!! Just all around a great experience!!
The food was great but the service was just okay.
Muy muy rica la comida !!! Me gustaría repetirlo !! Felicidades !!!
The salads at lunch are very tasty. I had the Greek salad with steak tips.
Our dinner was excellent. I added lobster salad to my house salad. The salad was very fresh and large. The lobster was a generous portion with a very light dressing. It was perfect for me. The chowder was rich and delicious and the lobster Mac and cheese was decadent with lots of lobster and served on a lobster shell. Impressive.
Friendly, attentive service but we were disappointed when the waitress told us they were out of oysters, fried clams, swordfish and large lobsters. The table nextdoor remarked this had been going on for a bit. If that’s the case, I suggest they mention this when reservations are made. I understand things are tough and different with COVID but this is a seafood place. Have seafood!
The food and service were good. However, the "New" menu is uninspiring. They no longer offer dishes that reflect their location in Boston. Their menu can be found in any generic restaurant in the country. Not much imagination. This new ownership has revealed why we will miss the old Legals.
The lobster roll was excellent! And the clam chowder was delicious!
Renee Dinocco went above and beyond. We were not at one of her tables, but she knew our server was not yet available, so she took our drink and appetizer orders to get us started until he arrived.
Service and food were outstanding. We are at the bar and had a great time before the big game between the Sox & Yankees.
Everything’s good there except we’ve always hated the black black black decor.
We ordered Tuna Steaks from Test Kitchen (2 of the 4 meals). There were three medallion pieces, which was not enough for an entree.
Also there was no bread provided and no spoon provided for coconut liquid.
We enjoyed the lively, casual setting and the appetizers, especially the littlenecks on the half shell and the clam stuffies. The dinner portion of fried clams was a bit tasteless and greasy. Would probably try something else next time.
Nice dinner...great martini's and fresh oysters.
Excellent food, attentive service, a little pricey but that's the cost of freshness!
Great service, great food and great place. My wife and I hand a wonderful time.
