There was a party of 3 during lunch time. I had the blackened tuna tacos. The flavor was terrific. My companions had the clam chowder. They said it was good.

I make a point of eating here every time I’m in town on business. The Salmon was superb crisp skin and meat cooked but moist as one would hope for. Great attentive service in an ideal location for the hotel I stay at in Crystal City. Has become a recurring reservation when I am in Crystal City

I tried this Legal seafood after going to the one in Boston Quincy Market area many years ago. This one is an ok sort of neighborhood bar/restaurant. It was loud place as you would expect at a place like that. I was not expecting this. Waiter was excellent and his recommendations of the scallops and rice pudding on special menu were on the mark. Shrimp dish was poor and the seafood casserole was poor too.

Always enjoy the food here! But they had run out of the special (scallops) by 7:30 pm. Still plenty of great options, though.

This was one of our annual visits to Legal Seafood. I don't visit DC without stopping in one or two times. I enjoy the crab cakes and the snapper. Don't forget the clam chowder. It may be the best I've ever eaten. I'll be back before I leave town.

I eat here every time I’m in town on business. Great, fresh food with attentive service in an ideal location. Perfect for business meals...walking distance from many hotels in Crystal City. Has become appointment dining when I’m in the area.

Outstanding seafood. Service great as well. Can be noisy but worth the visit. Quality of food matches the slightly higher price point. Recommend highly.

Food was good. My kids love the calamari. Early Sunday evening reservations. Place was not heavily packed. Service was a bit slow for the amount of patrons but overall Legal Sea Food was good

It was close to the hotel and seafood is our go-to. It was just okay. Nothing special or memorable. Have been to other Legal Seafoods and were much happier.

The restaurant was great. I have to say I made the reservation for Saturday in error and I went there on Sunday. The hostess told me she corrected it in her system.

Great ambiance and incredible food! I had the Chef's Assortment. The various fish filets were amazingly flavorful. The scallops were a little bit of a disappointment. Not enough of an issue to outweigh a great meal.

Food was good. Crab soup was amazing. Bread was a bit hard and cold when provided, but may be the type of rolls and not served warm. Fish was all cooked well, so were the shrimp.

Lump crab dip was entirely on point.
Again, crab soup was amazing.

We were first timers and very hopeful after reading the great reviews. We were seated quickly and the server took a bit before coming to our table....but it’s New Years Eve, so understandable. We ordered drinks and appetizers. They sure did not skimp on the booze in the mai tai or endless summer. The calamari was decent and the shrimp cocktail was a decent portion. No complaints. My husband and I ordered surf and turf (one lobster, one with crab cake). Crab cake and lobster were amazing. The steaks, though cooked medium, were very dry. Slightly disappointed, but the flavor was average. The sides (spinach and rice) were also average in flavor...but cooked well.
Our 6 year old had the kids cheese pizza and 97% of it was left on the plate. Our other daughter had Nutty Hidden Fjord Faroe Island salmon. She didn’t care for it because she said the nut flavor overpowered the taste of the salmon.
Our desserts were very good and Kevin was terrific. Will definitely try again

I have celiac’s, and can’t eat gluten. This place is extremely friendly for those with GF diets. They even have gf rolls that were great! I recommend the side dish of baked potato stuffed with crab. It was like a twice baked potato, but better!

The Jasmine Rice is not very good. Too dry and just tastes like cheap Uncle Ben's. I expect more flavor from a higher priced restaurant. There are ways to make a side of rice taste delicious. Your bread has no taste, either; there are a lot of good breads out there. Also, we were seated in the middle of the restaurant with barely anyone there and would have preferred a table in the back or the side.

Overall, we had a nice time and the majority of the food was good.

the service makes the experience. Hats off to Halima, the perceptive, receptive heart and soul of so much. Staff is usually good, but she stands out even under pressure of big tables of diners.
we are stalwarts of the place and typically the food is quite good, sometimes great. wines are great but selection of white French wines is being trimmed back to a huge extent and sadly the prices have risen on those remaining at an alarming rate. So, the experience has become even more focused on the great staff, in particular Team Halima. She is intelligent, engaging, and knows the value of long time faithful diners. The oysters are super, the shrimp great, wines still doable but she is a key reason we return so often. Keep up the good work.

Food was quite good and well prepared. We both enjoyed what we ordered. The only down side is that it is quite noisy inside, really tough to have a normal conversation. Too many hard surfaces that just reflect the sound around. We’ll eat there again with hesitation.

Went to Legal Sea Food Saturday and all was good. Weather was awful in DC but the food was good, the drinks were fine and the guys behind the bar, I ate at the bar, were friendly and knew what was the best stuff to order off the menu. If you are stuck in DC waiting for a flight the next day this is not a bad option if you are staying in Crystal City, it's close to the hotels and the food is good and it's not crazy expensive or a real zany bar scene like Georgetown or Old Town.

The manager was omnipresent; attentive to the details. He jumped in to introduce a cognac & then exchanged a dessert for one of my guests. If he is not an owner, he acts like one already.
