Nice place nice service great food
We had a 615 reservation- we arrived early and asked if we could be seated. The host said “ well we are expecting you at 615 I have to see if I have staff to take care of you” the restaurant was VERY QUIET AND MULTIPLE TABLES OPEN. Then the host carried some of our food out- asked who had the lobster mac and cheese my brother and I both said himself and my daughter- he then rolled his eyes s and said “well if I had more hands I could of brought them both out- geez have patience” SO RUDE
WILL NEVER RETURN. I understand you are short staffed but everyone still needs to be nice. Especially when paying a $400 tab. Our waiter was great. I would fire the host
This is our umpteenth time eating at Legal Seafoods. But our first since covid outbreak ! We were over the moon to be back and as per usual both the food & service were A++. We ate at the Copley place location - would have preferred Seaport or Harborside but couldn’t get a reservation at either. This the ONLY downside of LS....that those 2 locations are next to impossible to get a reservation same day....we are only ever in Boston to travel, and as a family we find it hard to plan too far ahead so that we can have some spontaneity in our vacation. But at least we could easily get a reso at Copley place. We LOVE the tuna tataki and crab cakes. Those are our staples but we love it all !!
A bit dingy and dark, very tourist-oriented. Service was poor but expected given July 2021 labor market and it was sunday. Food was decent.
Reunion yay yay yay
Our waiter was terrible. We watched him be attentive to other patrons while we were left waiting and having to flag him down when we needed him. The food runner was excellent! If it weren't for him our food would've gotten cold because we needed new plates and our waiter did not check in on us. It's bad when you wish another table's server was your server.
The dinner was terrible! I’ve been to multiple Legal Seafoods pre-pandemic and they were good. The crab cakes tasted like they got dropped out of a freezer and burned in a fryer. All of the seafood was frozen and dry. The waitress we had was super nice but service overall was slow and sloppy. It’s like an exorbitantly expensive Applebee’s. Don’t go.
We dined at Legal Seafood 2 evenings in a row.....from the receptionist through to dessert everything was deliciously lovely. Great Tattinger Brut and IPA Harpoon on draft, yummy clam chowder....the best haddock anywhere, loved the yukon smashed and grilled asparagus as well.....topped it off with the ice cream bon bons.....only regret that we've left the area and can't go back tonight ! Can't forget the rolls....crusty round scrumptiousness. Professional staff, superlative service with a smile.....Can't wait to go back.
Excellent gluten free options!!! Our waiter was fantastic.
We wanted to sample the city's best seafood but most of the Legal Sea Food outlets were sold out all weekend. Then we found this one in the Copley Place shopping mall that had some openings. It's tucked upstairs between the Coach handbags and the J.Crew sweaters, which could be a little off-putting to serious foodies. But the food is great, and the view is wonderful. But instead of paying the hefty parking fees in the mall or circling the blocks searching for spaces open to non-residents, seriously think about walking here or taking the T to Back Bay.
The Berkowitz’s would be ashamed. The menu is greatly reduced with favorite dishes removed, pollock substituted for cod, and when you try to order coffee after your meal, you’re told they only have espresso (what?). Been going to Legal for over 30 years, but won’t be back. Shockingly disappointing.
Went for my daughter's 15th birthday. The service was great, waitress was very attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, all 3 kiddos enjoyed their meals as did both my wife and I. Restaurant felt a little bit cold temperature wise, but it was still ok. Would've been nice to have sat closer to the window, but with the weather and temperature outside, was probably better to be sat in a booth. Overall a great experience.
The only negative was not against the restaurant itself, but the building. In parking in the garage downstairs, the elevators were down, which required walking up the parking garage ramp and through some of the mall to find the restaurant (not marked on any of the fixed signs until you got close). In calling the restaurant to get further guidance on how to get to the restaurant through this route, I was on hold for a while. It would be good if there was some instructions available to help guide guests up in the event of elevator failure. Other than this, it was a good experience where everyone was happy with their meal. And the prices felt very on point for the quality and portion size of the food.
Also, don't forget to bring your parking slip up and asking about validating parking. With the validation the parking was only $10 for parking right under the restaurant. Really good deal for Boston parking in a garage.
Menu was very disappointing. No fresh fish or even a fish selection. Would have expected a better seafood menu.
The food was delicious!!! Try the crabcake, the warm lobster roll with melted butter, and/or grilled haddock. If you like sweet, bubbly drinks, try their Moscato D'Asti.
It had no ambiance, the salad was overdressed and the crab cake was sort of cold.
Food was great and wait staff was very friendly
Excessive air conditioning, loud contemporary background music, insufficient staff, lukewarm chowder and food. Poor value given the conditions. Tabletops in poor condition (finish), should have tablecloths. Hostesses show overworked attitude.
As always, great seafood.
The stuffed baked lobster is the BEST in Boston
(Bring back the lobster picks please).
Only one comment: Sticky tables - apparently from the use of
disinfectant. Please put on a paper tablecloth,
the old placemats or redo the surface please.
This should not be part of the conversation - this restaurant is too wonderful.
Great location. Brought friends from out of town. Knew it would be great!
Everything was perfect 👍🏽
Was visiting my son in Boston. Went for dinner.
Food was excellent. Great gluten free options. Excellent service.
Sticky tables (varnish warn off due to COVID).
Perhaps this is more a shell fish place. Seemed to be a nothing more than a marginal step above Red Lobster.
Had salmon, asparagus, and broccoli with cheese. Entire meal was greasy and less than mediocre. Server was lovely and attentive. Not worth the money.
The place needs an update .. despite being in a very fancy mall it looks rundown. The food was just ok , service was very good
Nothing like what Legal use to be. Felt like we were at a cafeteria. Everything was mediocre at best.
This was our second time eating at Legal Seafoods in three days. I was delighted with this restaurant
Our service and food was excellent! We will return soon.
Despedida de una hija al campamento
Great food, waitress was very nice. Manager was grumpy and not friendly, got an attitude with a waitress in front of us
We had the best server. I have some dietary restrictions and she was very helpful. My salmon was delicious. My mother enjoyed the crab cake plate. This was our first night in Boston and we started with the right restaurant. It was recommended by our hotel. Didn’t disappoint.
Boston Cream Pie was an incredible end to a wonderful meal. They did it a great job helping my youngest put a small seafood meal together, it made her night!
Excellent seafood. The clam chowder is an award winner, for sure. But this Legal Seafood is located in Copley Mall, which has a lot of vacant stores, and is depressing to walk through in order to get to the restaurant.
Food was fine, server was great, not much of an atmosphere.
Well-prepared seafood, and very good at accommodating a shellfish allergy
The seafood was very tasty, hot and arrived guickly. The waitress was very helpful, responsive and we were able to substitute some meal sides to stay within our diet. Overall, a very good experience.
Food was great, not too salty. I ordered crap cake and it was fresh and great. Looking forward visiting here again!
Service was great, and people were kind. Recommended.
Excellent haddock and scallops. Loved the gluten free calamari and ribs.
Great location within the Copley Place mall. Very convenient to the shops and hotels in the area. Always love bringing visitors here. Clam Chowder is my all time favorite.
