New England Clam Chowder
crispy local whitefish, pickled red cabbage, avocado crema, pico de gallo
very very very good. ty for the service! kids loved it. allergies more than accommodated
This was chowder day, a bowl of chowder only 2 bucks. That went well with fried clams.
Outstanding in every way!
Great service. Amazing, fresh Oysters.
The baked Haddock was incredible.
Food was bountiful
Took home leftovers
We had a great meal: started with a dozen oysters, half Pemaquid and half Wellfleet. We really enjoyed the large, flavorful oysters. Then we each had Clam Chowder, which we have enjoyed many times before, and it was still as good. My wife had Cioppino, and I had a grilled Swordfish. The Cioppino was outstanding. I was a bit taken aback by the music playing, but it wasn't too loud, so that was OK.
Service was great but food was mediocre. Scallops were over cooked, coleslaw was not edible. Overall food was a disappointment. Not sure we’d go back.
Great New Year’s Eve dinner with friends
Food was excellent
Not understanding of or receptive to any dietary required accommodations.
Short staffed but great place! The bartender and one waitress did the best they could.
Host nicely accommodated our request for a table far from any others. Service was excellent and as usual, meals were served in a timely manner and excellently prepared
We have been away from Boston for almost 4 years and we could see that Legal has changed in some ways in our absence, which is to be expected - particularly with new ownership. The biggest change is addition of beef to the menu as well as fewer fish dishes. The old standbys we had were just as tasty as we remembered them.
We usually have a great experience at Legal but this time quality of food was sub par. Lobster Mac and cheese was inedible and $46!! Lobster roll was not good quality either. Very disappointing. Will not head back there anymore. Too expensive for risking poor quality.
Good food, crab cake was very small, but the ciopino was excellent, the service was excellent. The restaurant seems a bit 'worn', perhaps a renovation is overdue.
Seated right away , good food and service
Service was good but the food was just ok. Fish was dry and overcooked and didn't taste that fresh but the vegetables were barely cooked.
Never disappoints. Always pleasant. Great food and great service.
Best clam chowder in Boston! We went for dinner on our first night in Boston, and everything was so good that we went back again for lunch (at a different location) the next day.
Copley is a wonderful location, with a beautiful interior and a wall of windows letting in lots of light. Always a great waitstaff. Enjoyed the clam chowder and a selection of fresh oysters.
Definitely a good choice for fresh seafood.
Lots of gluten-free options as well.
Everything came out quickly and hot.
Good sized calamari appetizer potions.
Our favorite restaurant for reliable fish. Fresh always; prompt service. So good. Miss the sides of yesteryear, but oh well..
It was our first time dining here and our server Christian was fantastic. Our drinks and food came out quickly. We will definitely be back when we are in Boston!
We usually find LSF consistent. However, we were not real pleased with tonight. The scallops were really small and overcooked. We also had the mahi mahi which I thought was overcooked as well. I know restaurants are struggling right now, so I give them a bit of a pass, but we were just not very satisfied.
Awful. Food covered in butter, appetizers over cooked, service was weak
Be careful with the clients specifications.
It was excellent as usual!
lobster bisque; mahi done the chef's way with curry and jasmine rice. All very good!
Everything was good
Good place for everyday dinner or special occasions. Very good and knowledgeable with food allergies; highly recommended for those with celiac.
It was my boyfriends birthday and our waiter was somewhat cheerful. You could tell he did not want to be there. The food was not appealing .Same food. Should change the menu up.
Delicious per usual!
The rolls were stale, which was disappointing because they're a signature item.
The green bean side dish was delish & interesting.
The Christmas Carols vocals were really bad. Background music is one thing, constant lyrics insisting you listen instead of leaving you to enjoy your companion's conversation is annoying & intrusive.
Very friendly service with great food. Continues to have one of the best clam chowders in town!
There was no wait when we arrived, our reservations were good. Great table with a good view of the city.
Outstanding young waitress who took care of us like family.
Well as you can expect less for more! Clearly the Berkowitz don’t own this New England treasure any more. 1/2 full bucket of steamers for $20. The used to be full. No mixed seafood grill either which was awesome! Still really good seafood, not running back there any time soon. Bummed!
Quality seafood with excellent service and a nice view of Back Bay Boston.
It is in a high end mall though and butter could be used more judiciously with Marthas Vineyard bay scallops.
our waiter was awesome
Nice, fresh seafood as usual. I had cioppino, which had delicious calamari, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and a chunk of cod in a well seasoned tomato broth. Only disappointment was the lobster claw on top, which had been over cooked to the point where the flesh was mushy. First time I recall not eating all of the lobster I’m served. Despite that, the cioppino was great- I wouldn’t expect lobster in it anyhow. Paired well with a nice Sancerre; pricy by the glass, but that’s become the norm. Service was so-so. Our server was clearly overworked- often the case in restaurants these days. I’ll always go back to Legal.
