Legal Sea Foods - Chestnut Hill
Food was usual high quality. Didn’t have the best server this time.
The often eat at the Logan airport Legals. This was a great test to have the full menu, great service and an amazing view. We will plan to eat at the chestnut Hill location again!
We had the nicest server, she was so patient with us all! Our food was delicious- everyone was happy. And they are always so accommodating to my wanting vegetables, in place of the rice or potato.
Thank you for another great meal and relaxing time!!
Great seafood in a wonderful suburban location. I love the selection of oysters. Had the rainbow trout which was bland, but a little salt did the trick. Spouse had the tuna steak and he really like that.
love this restaurant, staff is very nice and we come here often
One of the worst meals out that I can remember. Scallops were overcooked, as were the vegetables. Too much grease on everything, even on the grilled food.
We were on vacation and we’re looking for a nice place to eat. The food was outstanding the bar was excellent and the service was excellent ! could not of been better
Menu hasn't changed for a long time but the recipes seem to have been changed for the worse. The service was terribly slow, 10-12 minutes to be offered water/rolls and another 10 minutes to receive. Kids meals were overtaken by the spicy breading used (not good for kids). French fries taste like cardboard! What happened to the quality?
Waiter excellent. Food always excellent.
Noise level challenging.
Enjoyed the food service and ambience
Delicious food, excellent service, and comfy booth seating that was great for conversation.
Food over all this time was much better than the last time we were here.we started with the lobster bisque and the Rhode island style calamari. Both were very good. They seem to be changing some of the ingredients a little. The bisque wild quite good did have more flavor reminiscent of a canned bisque. Being in the food industry it's pretty easy to tell when something's no longer made from scratch! There was enough Sherry and also added lobster, but the lobster flavor was not really that evident I think they need to use a better stock rather than buying it elsewhere. The calamari was good. Fresh & crispy just enough.they seem to be using less batter which is a good thing because that tended to get quite soggy and greasy. For our mains we had Gray sole, and Anne's baked cod which was very good. Portions were very decently sized and there just wasn't quite enough room for dessert! Price came out to about $90 which was about right. Overall a very decent meal.
The shrimp taco was served on a grilled, hard tortilla. The texture is unpleasant. I didn't send it back because the portion was large enough for me to just eat around it. Rethink that taco.
I had the cod, squash and spinach and it was outstanding. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with describing menu.
Lobster dinner 2 for $29 special for leap day great deal but though slaw was a bit oniony and corn over cooked but the place was packed and line at the door
Prefer lobster roll but lobsters were delicious !
Nine of us had a terrific time. Many of us took advantage of the double lobster special and were not disappointed. One member of our party is a vegetarian and needs to be on a gluten-free diet so had a nice salad and veggie sides. Another member of our party does not eat fish so had chicken and roasted vegetables. Those who drank enjoyed our drinks as well. Our server was friendly and very efficient.
The lobster night should become an annual event rather than every four years.
We would like to see the original smoke salmon app return to the menu as not all of us want the avocado.
Thank you for placing us in the back room - it is much quieter and easier to have a conversation.
We came for the extra day/extra lobster special. The advertisement stated a choice of two sides. We were informed by our server that there was no choice—cole slaw and corn on the cob only. Disappointed, we paid extra for fries and onion strings, both of which were lukewarm. The calamari and cauliflower apps were tasty.
Our server was not having a cheery day. He asked if he could bring anything else and then seemed annoyed when we said yes —lemon and mayo. And extra napkins! Nothing difficult or untoward.
Cocktails were good—especially the Tito’s cranberry burst!
We did not stay for coffee and dessert, preferring a more relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing lobster and chowder ... enjoyed the wine flight too!
You excellent deal. 2 lobsters for$29. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the evening. Service a little rocky. Not enough attention when needed but otherwise ok
Our reservation was on 2/29 where we took advantage of the special--2 lobsters for $29.00. As one can imagine, it was pretty crazy! We enjoyed the lobsters and are grateful for the special offer. Legal is consistently good in its offerings.
It was a nice expensive
I love Legal Sea Foods!
It was twin lobster leap year day and fabulous. Service was fabulous. Food delish. Best cocktails.
The bartenders in Chestnut Hill are the best !
We had a great table and came for the lobster specials. All the food served was Luke warm. My friends lobster did not look like the other 3 at the table but the waitress argued with us and didn’t do anything. We had 4 guest and got two butters we had to ask for more it took a while. Fries and rice were on the house but the rice was as old as the day is long and cold. It was mediocre at best.
A culinary must for anyone, when visiting Boston in 2020.
The service was excellent and the food delish. Will come back in a month or so.
The leap day offer was great, two lobster es two sides for $29. The food was delicious, the ambiance lively. We had a nice half bottle of Albariño. Totally enjoyable
We love sitting at the bar; service is great and the bartenders are very friendly.
On a cold day we sat in the glass enclosed area next to the window--found it perfectly warm and inviting despite reading complaints about that room being cold in the winter.
We are never disappointed by eating at Legal Seafood.
Had not been to Legal’s for 3 weeks....
It was too long and needed !
Lovely waitress new what I liked and how I liked it
We come here often, usually for family get-togethers. This time the food was good however our server missed a few things during our experience.
I have never been in this legal seafood location, and it didn’t disappoint, nice ambiance, the food was excellent and the service great! We ordered lobster roll, clam roll and crab cakes.
A Birthday lunch between old friends! The food was great and we had a good time.
Meh. Legal has lost its touch. It’s too bad. I was once a big fan. It’s gone corporate and nothing is special about it anymore. Just mediocre commercial food.
Very good food, a bit overpriced, but a special place anyway. Super service! Very friendly and timely.
Over all, a satisfying experience. Plusses include excellent steamers and well-prepared Ana-Cod. Excellent rainbow trout (although a bit salty). Service was a bit choppy, with uneven spacing between courses. On the other hand, dinner for 2, with only one glass of Merlot for my companion came to $115 (excluding tip).
Highly recommended if you're part of the '1%' or on Expense Account.
You can always count on Legal Sea Foods to provide quality meals. The blackened swordfish is usually my go to meal and I have never been disappointed. The clam chowder to me is the best chowder in the country, it is the benchmark for all other clam chowders where ever I travel. The Chestnut Hill location is a very spacious, comfortable location, the staff was friendly and upbeat.
