Legal Sea Foods - Burlington Mall Ratings and Reviews
We came for a non-turkey Thanksgiving at noon with our autistic daughter who eats gluten free. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The gluten free lemon caper sole was served by a special allergy runner to assure that the proper meal was served. All was delicious and fresh as well as more than enough in amount.
We come here for lunch on weekends often and have never been disappointed. It is a relief to be able to eat a healthy meal at a good restaurant with gluten free options.
Enjoyable evening with delicious seafood and great service. Brought Calif guest to dine here and were not disappointed! Servers Jeff and Megan were attentive but not hovering. Very knowledgeable about the ingredients in all the dishes and they gave honest recommendations when we asked. Baked scallop special was fabulous both in quantity and spices. Loved my seafood casserole which was full of nice nice pieces of lobster, scallops, shrimp and white fish. Savory and filling. Husband enjoyed his Dover sole which was cooked perfectly as requested. Food came out piping hot on a busy evening too. Highly recommend this Burlington Mall location with plenty of parking and modern ambience.
My concern about Burlington Legal Seafood applies to Chestnut Hill as well. The menu is stale. Vegetables are mediocre. Seafood is always good , but isn’t adequately accented with tired vegetables. While the restaurant still offers sides with their entrees, ones that are interesting are all extra money, including a baked potato. The prices have continued to rise, modestly in many cases but not in all, but the quality is diminished. The restaurant needs to rethink its menu and its pricing.
As I said, great service and a very pleasant, cheerful, sincere server. Our food was quite tasty, but not particularly hot. Yes, our server did circle back and ask how our food was, but by that time, we had eaten much of it. In addition, our friend from AZ was much too polite to mention his food was on the cool side. He rarely visits the East Coast, therefore; we let him pick the restaurant which, invariably is your establishment. Cooler fried food does not make it and not able to be re-heated. So, the customers suck it up rather than speak up and have it bother someone else at the table. Hope to have better luck next time with you in Burlington.
My son wanted to dine here for his birthday and it was a nice pleasant evening. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The food took a tad bit longer than I am used to. The fish chowder was filled more with dark fish than light. Not the style I really care for. The main courses were great. A bit disappointed that lunch items were not available for dinner, like the tuna burger. I felt some of the fish prices were a bit on the pricier side, but I was not disappointed with my feel. Except for the spinach, a bit on the raw side, would have preferred a longer session being steamed.
Legal Seafood in Burlington, MA made a business dinner for 6 people into a lesson on customer service excellence and quality. One diner was allergic to a long list of foods including citrus, butter, soy, wheat, etc. the waitress listened, made notes, recommended a few menu items, then spoke to the chef. She even double checked if my guest would be concerned about lemon juice spattered on the grill. Superb. As always, the swordfish was juicy and perfectly cooked, crab cakes were excellent, chowder had folks licking their bowls, I could go on and on.
have been there many times. This time was very bad.Lady in our party ordered a cup of tea, water came out in cup ice cold.Trying to find waitress was a problem.Ordered a beer waitress came over with the cap still on.I asked why she said bartender was to busy.ordered fish & chips came out cold.Would of sent it back could not find waitress. Two in party got baked potatoes one was over cooked.Got bill $167.00 there was a extra charge for the potatoes, ask waitress she said she forgot to tell us.Very disappointed
Service was horrendous. The restaurant was busy, but that’s not an excuse for extremely slow service to the point that the manager comped one of my orders. Also, is it really that hard for a line cook to understand that when a paying customer orders Arctic Char with a request for it to be prepared well done, the paying customer really wants the Arctic Char to be cooked well done, not as the line cook sees fit. I wouldn’t recommend this Legal Sea Foods to anyone.
This is my fourth or fifth time dining at this specific location. The food has always been top shelf but given the mall location, if the service isn't great the value just isn't there. Maybe if it was waterfront they could get away with it. The quality of the service during my last two visits has dropped considerably.
We always enjoy the fresh seafood at Legal's, and our recent dinner was very good, with the halibut, tuna and salmon all very well prepared. We also enjoyed the oysters (four different kinds from Cape Cod) and the cherrystone clams, which are always good and often hard to find.
We eat at Legal's typically about once a month on average, and usually the service is also very good. Just noticed recently, though that while the Burlington Mall location is always very busy, there seems to be a major push on by the restaurant to clear tables quicker to accommodate the rush between 6:30-8PM, particularly on weekends.
While we were having a leisurely dinner conversation with our sister-in-law from out of town, our server stopped by the table no less than five times to hurry us along by asking if we wanted anything else, or whether they could "help us" with anything, often interrupting the conversation and removing dishes before we were finished.
This is very poor form for a restaurant that prides itself on its service. The server also then pushed dessert on us and generally did everything they could to hurry us along while selling more.
We also noticed that there were some personnel cruising the dining room continuously with iPads, obviously working on optimizing the table seating and table turnover. While all of this may be good for revenue and table turns, it creates a very rushed and not very pleasant atmosphere for diners, trying to enjoy a quiet and leisurely dinner (now impossible to do with the table turnover push on).
We know that Legal's is popular and that the restaurant is trying to seat everyone as soon as possible, but there are limits to how many people you can serve at once.
We like Legal's and want it to continue to be our "go to" place for seafood, but if the efficiency initiatives go too far, we will eat elsewhere where we will not be continuously interrupted and have our dishes spirited away in the middle of a meal.
