About Legal Sea Foods - Braintree – Forbes Road
Our new location in Braintree is making a splash. Designed to evoke memories of vintage seafood restaurants, the space offers as many seating options as fish in the sea. Most notable are the three bars – including an oyster bar and food bar along the exposed kitchen – to satisfy any thirst (or hunger) for fun. In warm weather, a glass wall slides back to a large patio.
Our menu includes all the Legal Sea Foods classics, but also some specialties of the house that will reel you in. And our late night menu, available Friday and Saturday, begins two hours before close.
We’re located right off of Route 93 in South Shore Place, across the street from South Shore Plaza.

Legal Sea Foods - Braintree – Forbes Road Ratings and Reviews
Had a pre-movie reservation so were time constrained. Cocktail & starter was great, but had to send back both our mains as they were absolutely terrible (one was today's special). Left hungrier than we arrived.
On the flip side, service was fantastic and we were comped the whole meal - so kudos to the restaurant manager for acknowledging the kitchen had a bad moment.
Legal in Braintree was a great place to go for a small family dinner. Food was delicious! Server could not have been more attentive. And a special shout out to hostess who seated our group and was extremely patient and gracious towards an elderly member of our group that "forgot her manners." Hostess was professional and so very kind and understanding. I will keep coming back and hope I see this beautiful hostess again to thank her in person.
The service was great! The waiter was wonderful and the 4 of us enjoyed all of our meals. My husband and I ordered a salad to share and we also shared 2 entrees. We appreciated that the meals were split in the kitchen for us. We always enjoy dining at Legal Braintree.
Love this place. Had a wonderful dinner with hubby and friends. Everyone was happy with their food. I had the crab cake combo. Crab cake, grilled scallops and shrimp with a seasonal salad. Delicious! Wrong drink was brought to one of our party but it was corrected immediately. Very nice server.
I never have a bad experience at Legal in Braintree. Waitstaff is the best. My wife and I go frequently and the staff always makes us feel at home. The food is delicious and made to order. They don't mind changing things up to make you even happier.Legal is a must try for sure!
An A+ experience from the time we were greeted by the hostess and were then quickly seated pursuant to our reservation request to the great service and food, this is a wonderful restaurant! All the food we ordered from the salads and chowder to the baked stuffed lobster, fried clam plate, baked scrod and jasmine rice special were beatifully presented and delicious! This was a Birtday celebration for my brother and he thoroughly enjoyed himself, as did we all. Thank you, Legal and Open Table.
Sat on the patio this evening. Excellent service, even with every table full.
Caesar salad was tasty -- croutons delicious. A couple of the romaine lettuce slices were starting to brown, so points off for that.
Nutty salmon entree was excellent. Salmon cooked perfectly.
Will definitely return when I'm in the area.
My boyfriend & I were on vacation and picked this place because it was raining and right by our hotel. The reviews made us want to try it. It was delicious. We were greeted with a smile, our waiter was very attentive. I had the crabcake combo & the crabcake, scallops, and shrimp were all cooked well and delicious. My boyfriend wanted to try swordfish and, based on the waiter's recommendation, tried the grilled with cajun seasoning and seaweed salad. It was cooked to perfection & he loved it!! Prices werent bad for the quality of the food, although drinks were more expensive then we are used to. Would definitely go back
Legal's in Braintree is a gem!
We took visiting family who wanted fresh seafood - we were all super impressed!
Fantastic chowder, lobster bisque, and the best baked stuffed lobster I've ever had.
Great friendly service by Nicollette made a special night unforgettable...
Worth the price -
My husband and I had the Rainbow Trout, one of the more reasonably priced items on the menu. Both of us enjoyed the meal. We had good service, our waitress was very helpful in advising my husband what beer to choose. Usually my husband is not a fan of Legal, but he said he wouldn't mind going back again. I always liked Legal, even though I think they are somewhat overpriced.
Food was really good but only downside was the service. Waitress (Tanisha) was not very attentive. Luckily I've dined enough at Legal's that the poor service this time would not deter me from future visits. Please keep in mind that if I were a first time customer, this would probably be my last time dining here due to service.
This restaurant is perfectly placed right off I93 at the Braintree split, convenient for all five of us who get together periodically. We love Legal Seafoods and cannot believe we haven't been to the Braintree one before now. We ate there for lunch and found the setting to be bright with lots of windows. And while the lunch crowd was noisy, we could still talk, a critical requirement as our group always has a lot of news to catch up on. Our waiter was fabulous, funny, and attentive, and gave us plenty of time to eat and talk. The food, as it is at all LS, is excellent. The salmon rice bowl was a particular favorite. My house salad with crabmeat was so big I could not finish it. LS clam chowder can't be beat. Key lime pie is a must-have item (because they are quite big, we ordered one tartlet with 5 forks). We plan to go back. Lunch at LS in Braintree is our new mantra - no more downtown city traffic for us, no nighttime driving to and from dinner. Instead, we'll do lunch with free parking and easy access and, of course, the unbeatable seafood menu.
We had a party of 8, including one person who is lactose intolerant. When this person ordered, it was questioned whether that was an alergy, which she said "yes". She ordered grilled salmon with broccoli, and received scallops. While they prepared her meal again, the other 7 of us sat while out meals got a little colder. When we were offered desert, we passed. The waitress came over and brought us two plates of bon bons, which are filled with ice cream. She said the manager insisted to make up for the mistake, to which we pointed out that the person who's dinner had come out wrong was lactose intolerant! So they brought out ice cream! Usually an excellent restaurant, this past Sunday was not a high point.
