Legal Sea Foods - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
I live in Boston, so I understand this may seem unfair; however I have high expectations for Legal! To start with, there's incredibly limited signage on the street so GPS said I was there but I couldn't see it. Upon arrival, our waitress brought us water, our drinks, and was generally really great throughout the meal. 3/4 of us had clam chowder. The one bowl was full, but the two cups had a solid 1/2 inch unfilled which seems unnecessary considering you're paying $7 each. It was also warm, but certainly not hot. And, to add insult to injury, they served it with a saltine cracker! I mean, really, no oyster crackers? I just can't with this craziness. In Massachusetts it's always hot and filled to the top and always comes with oyster crackers. The menu is one page. One. Some of the best options at Legal just weren't available. Again, maybe unfair, but in Massachusetts the menu is pages! It really felt like a very limited menu. The fish and chips was big and looked delicious. Happy customer. Two of us had the Boston Cod which was great. I had the fisherman's platter. I hate calamari, so I asked if I could just have more scallops/shrimp/whitefish, whatever. I just don't eat calamari. They said no way, but I can have the meal missing 25% of the seafood. I really wanted it, so I agreed. It was still a pretty big portion, but the fries were cold and hard, like they weren't cooked enough. When we were leaving, the entry was so overcrowded that no one could get past the bar/reception area. Again, our waitress was great. Very kind and helpful. The food, however, was just not up to Legal standards.
Legal Seafood never disappoints. My wife loves it because of their extensive gluten free options. They bring her gluten free rolls straight out of the oven, nice and hot. I had clam chowder and fried oysters. Both were outstanding. My wife had fried oysters and onion strings. She was very happy. It's definitely worth the drive to downtown Atlanta.
I made a reservation for 3 for lunch today at 1 pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:55 and were told they they were too busy and would not honor our reservation. Don't bother with this place - just go somewhere else if you want to make sure you will get a seat.
Service was not great. Slow, very little attention and restaurant was not busy. Food was very lack luster. Was in a pinch because of the weather in Atlanta this weekend, but still would have expected more. The Legal Sea Foods in both the Boston and DC airports was much much better.
Only compliment was to the manager/GM that night.
We had a party of 14 for a business dinner. This restaurant was very accommodating. Service was excellent. For such a large party, we expected some delays but didn't have to wait for anything. Also, we asked the restaurant to recommend all of our appetizers- everything they suggested was delicious!
Wait staff very friendly. Not sure I like the entrance where everyone comes right in and staring at the counter with food sitting there waiting to be delivered to the table. However the food was extremely good, great atmosphere for our customer and we had a pleasurable meal. Oysters were not very good (small) but the other food was outstanding.
This was my first time dining at Legal Sea Foods and I was impressed with the taste of the food. I also enjoyed a tasty flight of three wines. The appetizer of buffalo shrimp was good although nothing really special about them. My main course of the Louisiana Catfish Matrimony was a step out of my comfort zone since I do not really like catfish all that much. However, the combination of the sauce shrimp, andouille sausage, greens and jasmine rice made the dish an absolute delight. The greens had a slightly sweet taste to them and the fish was sauteed to my liking. All in all I will return to try some of the other menu offerings. Our waitress was also a big help with the selection of the dishes and was very knowledgeable about the food (sorry, cannot remember her name).
Not as good as it was last year, not a great selection on sides, fries cold and was out of several of your deserts. Reservations was at 5:30 so not sure why they would run out of deserts so early. Guess we came on a bad night😟 The service was great, very nice server.
We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Every staff member wecame upon welcomed us and thanked us for coming. Our waitress was personable and was able to help us decide on what to order.
The Legal Sangria and the Bloody Mary were excellent. Definitely will be returning soon.
Customer service was excellent. A plate with 5 shrimp, 5 scallops & a filet mignon cut in half was $43.50. The taste was just OK it didn't match the price & portion size. I expected a full steak for the price. I prepare filet mignon for myself frequently so very disappointed.
