Did not live up to recommendations. Food oversalted, not appealing presentation.
The lobster was over cooked. The burger was under cooked. The rice was awful. The witness needs a new profession.
The only thing that was disappointing was my husband’s beer battered fish was overcooked.
The food quality did not line up with the prices. Overall, I was very disappointed. The food lacked flavor and the Fisherman platter had more batter per bite than the actual seafood. The crab cake (appetizer) was not a crab cake at all, but instead a pile of shredded crab. The food was pretty mediocre.
It had been many years since I had eaten at Legal Seafood so I was hoping things hadn't changed for the worse but I was not disappointed. I was very pleased.
The food was soooo good and our server was very attentive the time we were there! Can’t wait to go back.
Usually love legal seafoods but we were not a fan of this location because the lobster was way too over cooked, not cleaned or prepared well, and I cut myself trying to open it.
This was a new location.
Light and open, rather techy but pleasant.
Wait staff was exemplary.
Food, as in the past, was wonderful - fish and chips had very crisp crust with perfectly cooked fish inside. Clam chowder was delicious, though slightly salty. Crab cake was mostly lump meat crab. RI style calamari was perfect.
Disappointed in the service. Asked for lobster roll with butter on the side got it with Mayo a d butter on side 🤦🏻♀️. Ordered glass of wine when food arrived got after finished dinner. Sweet waitress but service not happy with.
Best seafood in the state. Guaranteed a great meal there. It is nice that gluten free seafood is available
Awesome place! I love coming here when I’m in town. Only place you can get Gluten free bellied clams. Best gluten free place I’ve ever been.
Met 2 friends for dinner at Legal Seafood Garden City and had a delightful meal, with good wine and excellent conversation. We had lots to talk about since we haven't gotten together for more than 18 months!! The waitress was attentive but didn't hover, replenished our water glasses regularly, and suggested a delicious wine for 2 of us. And we did not feel any pressure to rush through our meal. An excellent experience!
Food and service was excellent. Legal Sea Foods is always consistent, always a great exprience.
Requested standard indoor seating. Try to put us at a table with large open windows. Night temperature was cool. Saw the waitress 2 times. Waited forever for drinks. Won’t be rushing back.
Dinner was excellent as well as our service
Our waitress was very attentive and the food was excellent.
We dine at Legal Seafood in Cranston RI probably two nights per week.
Everything is better, many changes, finally Filet Mignon is on the menu! Beautiful flowers on sidewalk. Much more exciting menu! Piped in music. Excellent Steamers!
Great food, good thick asparagus and fresh Shrimp.
Attentive accommodating service with Keith.
Open windows are great!
Wondering why I’m not receiving any Open Table dining rewards with all my reservations there.
Food was delicious, as usual fish was cooked perfectly
They did such a good job with seating and had the huge windows open - this was our first time back in a restaurant since the pandemic started and it was great! Our server Sara was awesome as well!
With the sale of Legal Seafood to PPX Hospitality Brands at the end of last year, many changes have taken place. The location in Cranston, RI has struggled to find its identity since relocation from Warwick, RI about three years ago. First opened as a Legal Sea Bar, management figured out that Cranston isn't exactly young and trendy. Then revamped closer to echo its more traditional restaurants, it was acquiring some success when the pandemic hit. Now, under a new management structure, menu items have changed and atmosphere has definitely suffered. The fish we had was prepared well, but requests were not addressed. The music choice, an apparent obsession with '80s hair bands, was so loud we had to ask for it to be turned down...twice. Our wait person was courteous, but I honestly don't think he could hear us over the noise, which may explain our requests not being met. Legal Seafood was once our favorite restaurant. We deeply appreciated the consistency, the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The former space in Warwick was always excellent, upbeat without being overwhelming, and pleasant. And we always visited other locations throughout greater Boston whenever visiting with no disappointment. I ask that practices and menus from Warwick and other locations be reviewed. For the reasons cited, I cannot recommend LSF Cranston at this time.
Excellent food and excellent service. Always consistent.
It’s a shame.. we miss the ok’d legal seafood - we were hoping for the intimate feel and fine dining experience we loved a few years ago when we visited. The oysters were not as tasty, location is now in a strip mall, the ambiance was more of a dress down sports bar (which is fine if that’s the vibe you want), and overall - just too pricey for what you are getting - very disappointed. Not the Legal Seafood it once was.
Excellent service. Food fresh and tasty. Paired nicely with the DeLoach Pinot. Bon bons shared for dessert. Very nice for a first return visit post Covid! Thanks Legal!
Experience was good, except the food (shrimp scampi) was a little bland . I am definitely comparing it to what I used to have when it was located on post road.. overall it was just ok for my birthday celebration - I’m disappointed
The lobster roll was the best in RI, the service was professional and attentive without being too much in our space, the portions were generous. Overall a great dining experience.
We never got our appetizer. Server seemed stressed
Tables spaced apart during covid but with outdoor dining and windows open it was very pleasant on a nice sunny day. The RI calamari and bang bang cauliflower was outstanding. The fish and chips, with haddock, was large and tasty. The shrimp with crab stuffing was acceptable. The service was very helpful and friendly. A good value and worth a trip
Our server was awesome and the food was nice and fresh.
I always expect a good meal at legal seafood and yet it almost always exceeds my expectations by being so fresh, delicious and satisfying. The grilled swordfish was just delightful.
Our waiter was exceptional.
I had the crabmeat over salad, delicious! And so fresh.
Great server, Rose, she is an incredible server. Can’t wait to go back soon.
I was very disappointed with the fish tacos I ordered. Unfortunately, I assumed that because I was at a seafood place they would be at least good. However, the small pieces of fish were fried. The construction of the taco with the fried fish bites and toppings looked like something my kids made with Play-Doh. The French fries were at least decent.
I always love Legal Seafoods, and this visit did not disappoint. The food was incredible and just keeps getting better! Grilled haddock was delicious; broccoli and the smashed potatoes were also great. They did not have trout, however, and that was disappointing. I also wish they would bring back that Kale/yogurt/peanut side that they used to have. But overall, fantastic food and restaurant!
Our food was delicious and the presentation was absolutely stunning! The beverages were refreshing and service was with a smile and in a timely fashion. The manager, bartenders and hostesses were also very professional. We will be back
Our table was very close to the bar, which was fine. What I did not appreciate, however, was the MMA fight on the bar television -it was obnoxious and violent, and ruined the ambience of such a nice restaurant. My husband agreed.
This was the first time I have eaten at the Garden City location. Food and service were excellent! Were encouraged to take as much time as needed to enjoy our meal and catch up. Definitely will be back!
My favorite was the fish & chips. My husband loooovvves the stuffies & clam chowder. 👍👍
