Legal Sea Bar - Cranston
We were regulars at Legal Seafood’s in Warwick. Naturally when they became Legal Bar we dined there. Disappointed with the menu, I wrote plenty of reviews and had expressed my views to management. Thursday’s paper announced the change in menu, name and some interior alterations. We dined the following night and had the shrimp with garlic leek brown rice and butternut squash. Absolutely delicious! The menu has changed back to a traditional Legal Sea Food and has ample selections for my 87 year old mother. We sat in the newly added booth on the other side of the bar. Very comfortable! I am so happy Roger listened to his customers. We will be dining more often because of these changes! Thank you!
The waitress wasn’t very friendly, looked like we were bothering her, would stand with the menu on her hips like to say hurry up and let me know what you want, even when we asked about the menu just her attitude was terrible, was very disappointed with the service, but food was great.
Everything was perfect!
When making a reservation online you are asked if you prefer a standard table or a high top. You are not asked if you have a preference for a booth. I requested a "standard" table. Upon arrival at the restaurant...multiple booths were open. I asked the hostess to be seated in a booth and was told they were for people with reservations only. I told her I did have a reservation. She checked with another girl at the hostess stand and came back and said sorry they were not available. The majority of those booths remained empty during the entire time we were in the restaurant. I pointed that out to her as we left the restaurant and again all she had to say was sorry. I also had a hair in my food and let our server know. It was handled very efficiently as the manager prompty returned with a replacement meal. I thanked him for his handling of this issue on the way out of the restaurant as well. A giftcard brought us into the restaurant...it was my first time dining here. I don't think I will return as I found it to be overpriced for the quality and ambiance of the restaurant. I feel there are so many better options for good seafood. This place is good option if you are shopping in Garden City and want to take a break for a drink or quick seafood/sushi...just know in advance it will not be inexpensive.
We had a great experience celebrating my friends birthday. The service was excellent, manager brought out the gluten free food himself for one of us, our waitress was top notch. The food was delicious.
First of all Brittany was fantastic. Sociable, accommodating and at times funny. Three of us had the Salmon and two had the Swordfish. It was DELICIOUS.
Some of the best ribs(appetizer) I’ve ever had! The food was outstanding!!
Nice place to eat after shopping.
Excellent flavorful food, great service- one of our favorites!
Very good food but still slightly overpriced which maybe indicative of why the place was only 30% full on a Saturday evening.
Loved it-I have Celiac and was so happy with the GF options . Staff were wonderful ! Food was delish , fish and chips was great not oily/greasy. Calamari was great, I’d definitely go back!
Food was good as expected. Server was terrific. From out of town, and a visitor to the old airport location whenever we came to town. New setup seems much more geared to bar trade than intimate dining. Rather slow night for bar trade, so not an issue
Great experience. Very bright and open with great food and friendly servers. Fun atmosphere.
Food was excellent and also the wait still
From greeters to waitstaff, service is great, and the food was wonderful...even my drink was one of the best I've had. An all around terrific experience and we'll be back soon.
First time at this location. Brand new, Open Layout and Great Service. Menu was different than Legal Seafood but the food was excellent.
As always, as we eat here frequently, the food and Keith, our waiter, are the best.
Same poor management as the old Legals. Only Legals have eaten in that is consistently inconsistent with chefs and quality of food. Also has a poor menu compared to others.
This is a smaller & more informal member of the Legal Seafood family. Located in a mall, their sign is very small, so it can be a bit hard to find if you've never been there before. Still, all the quality you associate with the name Legal shines through. There is a good sized bar area, but there are plenty of tables & booths, which are well enough spaced to permit conversation. Service was good. Ample raw seafood offerings, especially oysters & clams. I had a crab cake combo, including luscious scallops & jumbo shrimp- the crab cake itself was great, with barely any breading & very tasty crab meat. My wife said her trout was excellent. Most fish on hand can be ordered grilled, broiled, baked, or blackened. Clam chowder, either creamy New England or red Rhode Island variety, was excellent. Wine list small, but adequate. I did enjoy my dessert of chocolate mousse cake.
This is a good place to go for a high quality meal with a very casual & relaxed ambience.
Been to this chain before and loved it. But this location was subpar. Much smaller venue and limited menu in comparison. The food was excellent but the real flaw was the horrible seating arrangement. All the 2 person tables are small and packed against the wall. Such a shame since Ive had such excellent experiences elsewhere.
Its a hit or a miss with Legal Seafood. Today was a miss. Although this location is new, the food was not good. For example, the coconut shrimp appetizer was as hard as cement, my main dish, the fisherman basket, consisted of deep fried bread rather than any seafood. We actually couldn't eat our food. The best thing was the soup. I suggest going somewhere else.
Had a lovely pre-Waterfire dinner here with hubby and daughter. Service was just excellent; our waiter was fun and knowledgeable. This is the third time we have been to Legal Sea Bar and have not been disappointed with the food. Everything fresh and perfect quantity. Tuna shashimi app was delicious as were the sushi rolls. Daughter had the salmon, kale salad and mashed sweet potatoes-delicious. Would recc this stop on the way to PVD. Parking is easy, plentiful, and free.
everything was exceptional I can't wait to go back.
I’m usually always happy. This time my Ma asked abt crab cake appetizer and dinner. Waitress upsold to the lunch crab cake meal. What she got was a small, appetizer size single crab cake, a bowl of absolutely tasteless white rice and 40 pounds of greenery. You could barely see the crab cake for the mountain of greens. Was her birthday and she was disappointed.
The crab cake itself was delicious, what very little there was of it.
So gotta say, THIS time, I’m pretty unhappy about that. Also, bring back the key lime pie and clear chowder.
Great seafood nice ambiance
Though too pricey to visit often, I think it's worthy of a periodic visit. Top quality products I am sure, but simply too pricey for "regular folk" to keep in their dining out rotation.
Table was SUPER wobbly, didn't think to ask to move, but was frustrating the whole meal.
Server was kind of lost in the back somewhere, had to ask another server to find her. Was not impressed that the bartender had nothing to do but check his cell phone. Restaurant was very quiet, and appeared to almost be over staffed with servers.
Did NOT enjoy the coated/pre seasoned french fries with the fried clams. You pride yourself on FRESH, that should include ALL your food offerings.
For the positive, the lemonade was awesome and the fried clams were big and a plentiful portion size.
I love the new location. The new added oldies, nuttey salmon
You would think a restaurant with Seafood in its name would have fresh fish from the dock. The salmon I had tasted like it came from a freezer in Colorado. This was my second try in a month. Both were the same.
I will not go back. If this was Applebee's and had their prices it would have been OK.
All the food was great except the edge of wasn't very flavorful. Waitress did her job but not very friendly. Beautiful restaurant, hostess was great.
Service was Great, waiter was very helpful in answering any questions we had as well as some good recommendations.
Everything about our experience was mediocre. We chose the prix fixe for Providence restaurant week & were disappointed in the quality of the food & the service. Our dinner was not worth the price we paid. This was our first time dining at this restaurant. We will not be back.
Calamari was mushy, fried fish was all batter with very little fish.
Restaurant week lunch menu was such a great value!
My husband and I often dined enjoyably at Legal Seafood in Warwick before it closed. I like the menu at Legal Bar, but the food is uneven. We have been there twice when it was good (never great), but other times it has been mediocre: clam cakes that were dark and overdone; fish sandwich in which the fish was too heavily bread crumbed; even bonbons where my husband got 3 flavors and I only got only chocolate and vanilla.
Nice menu, tasty food, and airy and bright dining space. Not-too-noisy to have a normal conversation and friendly service.
Was disappointed in food
Mussels had no taste
Salmon was dry
Tiramisu was way too sweet
Service was excellent
Awesome food, service and atmosphere! Gary the manager was very accommodating, really took care of us as a big group.
food was good.. planning to go back. i brought my son there for his birthday and the stuffed lobster was good
Great food and drinks in a fun (but not too loud), bar atmosphere. Loved the sangria!
