Legal Harborside – Floor 2 Dining Room

Come on open table. You know I didn’t go to legal harborside. Restaurants are closed. Maybe quit the automatic emails? This can’t be that hard of a change.

Unbelievable food!! Great atmosphere! Immensely enjoyed my evening.

The Chilean sea bass was outstanding and the salmon was great. The free birthday cake and waterside view made for a very romantic and memorable night, capped with coffee. The service was wonderful, starting with the maitre’d and the the serving staff. This is our go-to restaurant for special events like this.

We totally enjoyed our dining experience at Legals Harborside 2nd floor. The decor and ambiance combined for a lovely atmosphere, with magnificent views of Boston Harbor, which delighted our guests from Ireland. The wait staff was so knowledgeable about the selection of wines, and how each dish we were interested in was prepared. Each dish was amazing in taste and temperature. Overall, our dining exoerience was excellent.

Had one of the best lunches on the 2nd floor. Kim was outstanding and view awesome. Can’t wait to go back!!

The restaurant was extremely quiet, perhaps due to fears of coronavirus, but the experience was great. A very appropriately attentive server, great view by the window, superb food!

Came for their Leap Day special and it was amazing! Not sure if I would come otherwise, a little pricey. But maybe worth coming once or once in a blue moon.

Expect better on food...lobster overcooked. Asked for medium steak but cane out like medium well. Salmon is kind of too sweet & beans came with it were very hard in texture like undercooked rice. Halibut was on the plain side... not the usual Legal Seafood quality I expected.
Other than that, services was great, great setting & view. Great atmosphere.

We LOVED our experience here! We usually go to the rooftop, but it’s apparently not open during the winter (lol). The upstairs is fancier, having a dress code (no hats). The dining & food was fantastic! Twin lobsters had a ton of meat. I’ll be back again!

My experience was exactly what I wanted. A quiet, low lit table with an overlook of the harbor. Amazing seafood (the Chilean sea bass was melt in your mouth incredible, as were the oysters--perfectly fresh), extremely well balanced wine, a finishing drink that that was the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and strong, and a waiter that was courteous, respectful, and informative. The three friends I went with absolutely loved their food, whether it was surf (scallops, sushi, shrimp) or turf (New York strip). Though they did not have the 20oz. swordfish when my friend ordered, to be fair, they only had 3 steaks available that night. Early bird catches the worm, and all that. That did not make them enjoy their second pick any less.

I will be visiting them again, and I recommend everyone else to do the same. Though the cost of the dinner was up there for us lower-middles, going to Boston for PAX East once a year is something we save for, and we wanted the best of the best. That is exactly what we got.

Legal Harborside offers people a premier dining experience, but at a cost. However, when you realize the high quality of the ingredients plus the stunning view it still seems like a bit of a bargain compared to some of the other higher priced restaurants in Boston and Seaport. I highly recommend the colossal lobster roll despite it's colossal price... it's a ton of food and meat and the price is just about right for what you get (at $55).

The food wasnt good, the atmosphere of the restaurant was ok but it was too loud. Service was not too bad.I will never recommend this restaurant to any of my friend.

Food was good, but not outstanding. Portion size was smaller than expected. Staff was excellent, view of Boston Harbor nice. Felt that the price exceeded the quality of the food.

We take Legal for granted in Boston because it’s been around for so long, but the relatively new Harborside location is truly spectacular, especially the second floor dining. We got reservations upstairs for a Valentines Day dinner (a few nights after Valentines) and couldn’t have been more impressed. We were seated in a very comfortable table directly on the windows overlooking the Harbor, which was still and beautiful at night. The food more than matched the ambiance. If you’re looking for the classics (chowder, oysters, lobster) Legal has them all, but their specials and creative full plates are not to be underestimated. They put a unique twist on all that they do to make the meals stand out a bit more than just the fish. I enjoyed a New Zealand salmon on top of an excellent Lobster risotto, while my wife had a lobster tagliatelle with a touch of marscapone cheese that gave it a unique creaminess. I had the grilled octopus as an app (tender and tasty), while my wife had the blue crab, a generous portion with a zingy orange sauce along with it. The wine list is extensive with something at all price points, and the service was attentive. All in all just a nice, relaxed and pleasant experience.

Delightful! Great night after long day at Boston boat show...perfect way to upwind..we were last to leave and never felt rushed...

very disappointed, what fish restaurant does not even have haddock on their menu. Swordfish which was asked to be Cajun or blackened was awful.

Love all locations of Legal Seafood. The food and service are historically always exceptional. My experience the other evening for the service was one word: DEPLORABLE. Lots of training and support needed.

Business colleagues

We have been many times but usually sit at the bare. This time we went with friends and sat in the dining room. We always enjoy Legals Floor 2, the food is excellent and the setting fabulous. Service was a little slow this time which is unusual at Legals.

On a cold night, we were cozy sitting next to the fireplace with a view of the night sky over the harbor. Two people had scallops and raved about them. One person had the vegetarian entree (a butternut squash steak with quinoa, garlic spinach and other adornments). This was an amazingly creative and tasty dish. The ora king salmon with farro and greens was also amazing with a interesting presentation. I should have ordered it medium rare, as the medium preparation was a little dry.

I noted on the reservation that this was a birthday celebration, and a birthday card hand written by the Legal staff was waiting for the birthday guest as he arrived at the table.

Be sure to ask about the flourless chocolate cake or ice cream bonbons if you crave these desserts. They are available, but not on the dessert menu.

The noise level was a bit much for us, particularly since our reservation was on a Tuesday night and the restaurant seemed barely half full.

Aside from the food and ambiance, the big score of the night was our waiter, Mike. He was extremely attentive, provided interesting conversation, and contributed to the enjoyment of our celebration.

As usual the seafood was fresh and delicious. We ate at the bar and experienced incredible service from Sara. All her recommendations were spot on.

We had wonderful meal, the only complaints we had were with our drink orders. The first drink was incorrect and it took forever to get another.

I'm not sure if the 2nd floor of this restaurant is different from the bottom but prices were higher than the usual Legal Seafood and the menu was much shorter than what I've experienced elsewhere. The Cod was a great texture but flavorless and there was no salt or pepper on the table. My chowder and crab cake was yummy as was the bread served. Staff very attentive and lovely location. Not even sure this is part of the Legal Sea food chain? Though it appears on their site- Just felt like a very different dining experience and the main dish was underwhelming.
