Christine our server was perfect.
Our waiter was awesome and did a great job.
The food was not up to the usual legal sea food quality. Expensive meal for poor quality ☹️
Swordfish and cod were very good. Wait staff and Maitre good, pleasant, but could have been more experienced. Beautiful views and surrounding location to restaurant. Dining for couples is separated from the group dining area, has a more serene mood, which makes this an excellent location for a date.
My husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving at Legal Harborside in Boston. It was a memorable meal with the seafood tower as an appetizer and a stuffed 2 pound lobster as our entree. Everything was wonderful.
Excellent food and service and view
Delicious seafood lunch to celebrate Birthday and Thanksgiving!
Excellent food and service.
The restaurant was perfect. The problem was the with the valet parking. The attendant just handed the fob to my husband and we ended up having to walk in the pouring rain to the end of the block to retrieve our car. This was after paying him and tipping him. Kind of disappointing after a nice experience in the restaurant.
The Harborside restaurant is excellent & the staff is very attentive. Our server even mentioned that she saw that we were on a date night & wanted to enjoy ourselves. I’ll definitely be returning & will also share my experience with others.
Wonderful food and great service.
When we booked on Open Table, a question appeared if we would want to use Floor 2 Dining Room. We assumed it meant seating on 2nd level so we said yes. When we got there, we discussed Floor 2 is a fine dining area with separate menu from the downstairs Legal Seafood (and what we had expected). Floor 2 is quieter, set for fine dining and menu is more expensive and selective. The staff there were very nice to change our reservation to downstairs location where items we always love to order...the clam chowder and fish and chips are on menu (not on upstairs menu).
Therefore, I would recommend unless this is for a special occasion, people should request downstairs sitting area.
This is the place to celebrate any occasion! We enjoyed the whole experience. The host/manager made sure we had the best seat in the house for our special occasion. Waitress was lovely and friendly. The food was fresh and exactly what we were looking for in Boston. Try the clam chowder... To Die For!! We ended the evening with a warm cup of coffee which was perfect for keeping the party going! If you have a chance, reserve a table here!
The food and ambiance were phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious, and a few of the items had just been added to the menu that day. Absolutely recommend this place for a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely a great dining experience every single time we dine at your restaurant. We noticed the menu has changed a bit adding lot more interesting flavors to it which is fantastic. Christina’s recommendation and wine pairing was on the spot, she does an amazing job in a perfect professional manner.
Christina was the best server and gave us the best recommendations. The crab roll was fantastic. The view was amazing. Love it and will definitely be back!
We were celebrating a birthday which was noted on the reservation. Our waiter was a man of very few words and using hand signals to tell us what he needed. In addition a lady that was helping him pick up the dishes or pour water she was doing the same thing, hand gestures! The birthday person got her dinner , swordfish that was so overcooked that was not eatable. We brought it to their attention, it was rectified with a new dish but not after she was told that she had asked for it to be well done( I had asked for salmon cooked all the way through not her). Again not paying attention to their dinners and their requests. At the end , we were presented with the bill and 5 minutes later they brought a piece of cake to celebrate the birthday without as so much as saying “happy birthday “ or anything. It was just dropped on the table as an afterthought since we already had been given the bill. Very disappointing dinner ! Certainly not an intended celebratory dinner!
The was great ambiance and great service. The staff made sure that you were well taken care of. Perfect for a birthday celebration or special occasion.
The food was very good and the view of Boston Harbor was excellent. What brought our experience down was the poor service.
My review is more about OpenTable's use of the word "energetic" when addressing the noise level.
Too many restaurants, including very fine restaurants, are too noisy. It seems that in the restaurant industry there is this attitude that louder is better. This attitude is not held by most of the people that I've spoken with on the subject of restaurant noise. Louder is not better! It simply means that patrons have to talk louder in order to be heard by people at their own table. And I've been to many restaurants - not night clubs or bars - where sometimes you can't even hear those at your own table. And of course, the problem is worse for those with hearing limitations.
I don't know how this bad attitude will ever be changed. I do know that I can indirectly cast my vote against noisy restaurants by writing a review, and simply not returning.
Seems to me that the restaurant association should do something more aggressively about it.
prefer the atmosphere over at the legal on the wharf.
The food wasn't that good. I had salmon that was uncooked and sent back to the kitchen. When returned it still wasn't cooked. The entree only came with two carrots for a vegetable. The salads were good thank God.
It's expensive, but seemed worth it for a special occasion!
We had a wonderful evening at Legal Harbourside. The food was amazing Lobster was outstanding. Nothing was too much for our lovely waiter. He was knowledgeable and lovely to boot. Thank you for a lovely evening
It was amazing. The service was impeccable, the food was exquisite and the view was beautiful!
We had an incredible dinner at Legal Harborside - Floor 2 Dining Room to celebrate my husband's graduation from law school and passing the bar exam. We've dined more casually for lunch on the first floor, which is also excellent, but we were blown away by our experience on the second floor. We had a great bottle of wine and my husband enjoyed the selection of oysters for his appetizer. I had the lobster soup, which was both delicious and presented beautifully. For entrees, my husband enjoyed his salmon while I loved the braised short rib and lobster tail. Dinner was complete with dessert and drinks. I'm still thinking about the lemon blueberry cheesecake! While the price point is a little high for a casual night out, we will definitely be back for another celebratory meal in the future!
We love Legal & frequent the Seaport restaurant.
We eat on the 1st floor often. We have been to dine on the second floor a few times too.
For a Saturday night there were no specials?? We thought that wasn’t a good idea on their part.
Then the swordfish was sold out very early & we were told only a few plates are available of this particular dish.
The only thing that caught my eye was the Salmon.
It was very good. Glad I like salmon. The menu is small & you know this going in. You also think that an optional “Special” would be a great choice.
We caught up with some friends that happened to be at the bar when we arrived. Had a nice night.
The waiter & the waitress for our table disappeared 1/2 way through & wasn’t very good.
I think I’ll stick to the 1st floor or go to the other Legal locations that we normally nine at.
For the money it’s not worth sitting on the second floor.
Legal Harborside - Floor 2 Dining Room is a fine dining experience. The food was very good and the ambience was lovely, overlooking the twinkling lights of the harbor. This is definitely not your neighborhood Legal Seafoods. Loved it!
The staff was attentive and polite. As requested, we got seated at a window booth. For an upscale atmosphere, they do not shame you into feeling below average. Food was delicious and the view is awesome!
Great place for anyone who loves good seafood and great ambiance with water views.
We were given a lousy table, in a remote section of the restaurant, with a bad view. Our requests for a better table were denied unsympathetically.
Service was slow, slipshod, inattentive, and sloppy. I don't know where our waitress' other tables were... perhaps Weymouth?
We ordered a. Kyle of white wine. After pouring each of us a glass, the bottle disappeared. It was not placed on or adjacent to the table in an ice bucket. I hope whomever got to drink the rest of our wine enjoyed it; it was too expensive to waste.
Despite all of that, the food was delicious, inventive, and delightful. We had after-dinner drinks at the rooftop bar upstairs where we got the harbor views we had been denied on the second floor. The service up there was helpful, efficient, and friendly.
Exceptional seafood. Great for special occasion
Great place for a nice dinner on the harbor. Food was amazing and very fresh.
Excellent food and service. Beautiful view, just a bit noisy.
Everything was excellent.it was our second time there.we love this place.
We enjoyed dinner at Legal Harborside. The view was outstanding, food was delicious and service was very good. Look forward to going there again soon! Definitely recommend!
My husband and I took my mum here for dinner while she was visiting us, and we all had a superb time. Our food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience was perfect. Our favourite was the homemade cracker bread and the oysters. We would definitely eat here again and will be sure to recommend Legal Harborside Floor 2 to our friends.
Amazing view. Great food and service. Really enjoyed the experience.
Legal Harborside is a must if you visit Boston. The quality of the food is outstanding. Make sure to get the clam chowder, you won't be disappointed!
Excellent food, beautiful views and very attentive service
Our server was great! We were there for an Anniversary dinner and she made it very special. The views of the Harbor were great and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion!
