Legal Harborside – Floor 2 Dining Room
Excellent food, beautiful views and very attentive service
Our server was great! We were there for an Anniversary dinner and she made it very special. The views of the Harbor were great and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion!
Great service. But in desperate need of a changing table. Its amazing they don’t have one on the second floor dining area.
Terrific food, fantastic service. Great view, too!!
The food was delicious but the prices were extroadinarly high even given the quality. The views were outstanding as was the extremely helpful, amusing and efficient waiter. The only problem was the acoustics (due to the number of people eating) which meant that you could only hear the people beside you and voices had to be raised constantly.
The Grilled Swordfish was Excellent!
I recommend the meal - however the service was not optimal - my suggestion go for the meal and enjoy!
Dinner, service and ambiance were terrific! We plan to return on a future trip to Boston.
Stiff unfriendly service. Some food items arrived cold.
Invited 3 friends from work to join me at Legal Harborside Floor 2 They asked why floor 2? I said wait and see. We had cocktails first then appetizers that were outstanding including the Octopus and Tuna Trio. Then with our fabulous and very reasonably priced White wine we enjoyed main courses of Bass, Salmon and swordfish, all cooked perfectly. Desert and cordials finished off a perfect meal. We can’t wait to go back!
My guests were from Europe and they were extremely impressed. The food was excellent, the atmosphere and view was great and the waitstaff was awesome! A great experience. Highly recommend.
Very limited lunch menu and we swatted fruit flies all throughout lunch. Very disappointing.
The view was awesome! The food was even better! The best oysters were wonderful as was the fish we had. The staff was very friendly!
The table was elegant. The food presentation was creative. The meal was superbly delicious. The service was Downton Abbey revisited. The view was grand. Overall, the experience was extremely exceptional!!!
Great view, great service, great food. What more do you want?
Great place for lunch with friends
Excellent dining experience. Kudos to waiter Mike!
Two of the three entrees were good, but the bouillabaisse was uninspiring and overpriced for what it was. We enjoy many of the other Legal locations, but disappointed with this one.
This is the most upscale of the Legal chain. Service was excellent. Preparation and presentation was also great. My only reservation is that their menu is more limited than the sister locations. For example, there was no tuna on the menu. I would recommend it without reservation, no pun intended.
It's always a pleasure to dine here the service the food is omg amazing
The lighting was perfect for reading the menu and for enjoying the view of the harbor. Very nicely appointed. Food excellent. Very helpful servers. My sister and I shared a salad and enjoyed apps for dinner.
The food and view were excellent. Our server Nina was very cordial and knowledgeable about the food and the wines. She was very pleasant to work with.
The view was spectacular and the service was great. However, my meal was terrible. And nobody left saying their meal was great. The prices are equivalent to a top of the line restaurant but the meals were not!
I was seated and then .....ignored for 25 minutes !
The waitress ignored me
This is the first time I have ever left a restaurant before food !
We knew Legal Seafood offered one of the better Boston seafood dinners, and the Floor 2 Dining Room adds elegance to the experience. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday, and Legal gave us a nice standalone table one row removed from the windows overlooking the Boston harbor (the Floor 2 Dining Room offers several long "shared" tables as well, so best to request your preferred type of table). Our table setting included a handwritten birthday greeting for our daughter, and our meal included a free slice of chocolate cake with candle and edible card. Our waiter - Edward - was outstanding in every respect. He (and the maitre d') accommodated my wife's mild food allergies with recommendations and modifications, and checked on the progress of our meal regularly (but not too much). He kept our wine and water glasses full, and the wine bottle on ice throughout the meal. He answered several questions about the menu that required an in-depth knowledge of the offerings. Afterwards, Edward made sure we had our valet ticket validated (I wouldn't have thought to ask). I cannot think of any aspect of our Legal experience that could have been better. We were surrounded by what appeared to be important business/social gatherings of people, but our modest birthday celebration was given no less respect. That statement in itself may be what sets Legal Seafood apart from the competition.
I had a reservation and was seated a half an hour later even though there were tables open. I sat at the bar and waited with my husband and my son. The view is nice if you get there and sit by the window which I requested and did not get .
Be advise at the menu on floor two is very different than any other level. They did accommodate my husband when he requested clam shouter. But there was only one shrimp dish on the menu and it was very unusual. I asked for a piece of swordfish without the salsa and just to have potato and asparagus instead and the weather said no he couldn't do that. So he just put in the order with a plain piece of swordfish and I asked for at least some mashed potatoes on the side which I got. But the piece of swordfish was just that on a plain white plate nothing extra no sauce nothing !! no substitutes he told me. Needless to say, we did not have another drink nor did we have coffee or dessert.
The chowder I tasted was very good the swordfish was fresh he's just confuse little extra something I don't think I will die in there again .I would suggest if you want something with more choices on the menu go to the first floor and if you want to just have a drink with a beautiful view then go to the second floor. Maybe just have an app at the bar on the second floor.
Our server, Nikki was very informative and funny. Joel, the sommelier knew what we would like better than we did!
Lobster was undercooked. Roe was still black and bloody.
GM offered us dessert. We said could we have latté instead. He said sure no problem. Still lattés were charged. Had to get that fixed as well.
The table behind us left for problems with their lobsters as well. At market price and reputation of this restaurant, I think the person at the pass should have checked more thoroughly.
It's a shame because I had been to this location 3 years ago and was very pleased. We flew from Montreal, me and my girlfriend for this meal to Boston. High expectations for this diner were definatley not met. It saddens me because I know this restaurant can do so much better.
Great place with a wonderful view. Food and service were just ok.
This was an amazing experience! My mum and I were visiting Boston from Vancouver, Canada for her 60th birthday. When we got to our table there was a happy birthday note waiting for us. It was such a thoughtful touch! The service was wonderful and the food was exceptional. Every bite was an amazing experience. Thank you Legal Seafood Harbourside for a fantastic birthday dinner - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The Lobster Roll was horrible - no real lobster pieces just scraps cuts from the claw meat tips. The WORST!
The location and view was amazing however I do wish that I was closer to the window which is not the staff’s fault as the booths by the window were already taken. The waiter seemed to not pay much attention to us where we were sitting and waiting quite a few times and even put empty plates at the edge in hopes to get attention. As someone who has serving experience we didn’t feel very welcomed. The food was good, not the most excellent but still quite good.
This is a remarkable and unique location with remarkable food and excellent service--it is not to be missed. I had the best piece of swordfish I have ever tasted--an 18oz. swordfish chop--wow! My wife's grilled halibut surrounded by lobster chunks also was wonderful, as was my lobster bisque. It was the gastronomic highlight of our trip to Boston.
Delicious food and beautiful view
If you are looking for perfection, Legal Harborside Floor 2 is it! My husband and I ate here on a recent trip, celebrating his birthday. The experience was top-notch from start to finish. The atmosphere is upscale and refined; the service was seamless and the food: superb. We started with the octopus appetizer. For our main courses, I had the salmon and my husband had the swordfish. Both were cooked perfectly and everything was plated very artistically. Cocktails are generous and the wine list is ample and interesting.
A solid and reliable “go to” fo a business lunch with a sea view and without much hustle bustle.
Wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail and some delicious seafood! We enjoyed handcrafted cocktails while we waited for our window table.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere but not too noisy, staff lovely and views great. We'll definitely go back
Great Servive, food and the view. Only downside was the parking in that area.
Service was superb.
Great food and great service.
