Service was very good. I thought the menu wd have more fish dinner choices. Cocktails on the deck are the best part.
Great service but the special entree of swordfish was disappointing as it was a little over cooked and had no sauce or flavor, the wine by the glass is a little bit too expensive. I’ll keep coming back but will specify not to overcook the swordfish and ask about the marinade.
We love going to the Harborside when we are in Boston. Always a lot going on in the Harbor. We valet park It is worth it with the validation. Love the crab pizza the tuna was so great!
Unparalleled in consistent excellence and high quality
Great table....amazing food.....excellent service!
Traveling to Legal Harborside has become a Father's Day tradition, though often it's just the two of us as it was this year. Lunch at Legal can be just about perfect. They have floor to ceiling doors that were open as well as some outside seating; all right on the water and a perfect day. This trip they weren't too busy at first so we were able to chat with some of the staff we have gotten to know; our regular server Chad who we've known since Legal Harborside opened is heading to San Diego soon so we were pleased to be able to have his service one more time. We enjoyed it when Aung took the time to come by and say hello before things got busier. Because the day was so nice I chose to start with some bubbly. Unfortunately they had just sold the last bottle of my first choice, Chad brought two others, both vintage Veuve; we started with the rose. One thing about Legal, they is they are willing to work with you. Julie loves their crab salad but was going with the fish tacos so I suggested getting the Caesar salad with crab to share as a starter. Chad instead suggested the crab cake, and switch the side salad for a Caesar; what a great combination. The last time we were in Chad had suggested I change my fish and chips to cod and chips, it was so good I had the same again. With the meals we had a grand cru Chablis; perfect with the meals. For a lunch, not a quick lunch (though you can probably get one here), this is what we love, it was a perfect day, we were open to the sea, excellent food, wine and service. The only caveat, the first floor is 'heritage Legal', it's relaxed, if you want more formal and more 'serious' menu options, try the second floor. We love the first floor and it's worth the hour drive from NH once or twice a month. Thanks Chad, safe travels. Bill and Julie
Fantastic food, incredible setting, friendly staff, an all-round great experience.
Amazing location! Highly recommend sitting outside. Delicious food, nice service, everything is good. Will come back many times!
We had a great outdoor table - perfect view, great ambience, yummy drinks, fantastic lobster rolls and super service.
From start to finish the service and food was excellent. Our table was ready on time as promised. The wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu as expected. The food was Awesome best Lobster I ever had. The manager came to the table just to check if everything was ok. Overall great experience.
Great experience highly recommend
We used to love coming here for the great food and the wonderful atmosphere. The food was not worth the price and our table was placed in a really awkward spot where we felt like we were in the way, and had waiters hanging out right behind us the entire lunch
Great service and ambiance. I also enjoyed the seafood. Some more nutrition options for sandwiches/rolls and substitutes for French fries would be much appreciated.
Loved it. The weather was perfect for the deck. Waiter didn’t rush us. Food was phenomenal❤️👍 home run.
We had such a wonderful experience at Legal's. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere all exceeded our highest expectations.
We had a decent meal at Legal Harborside. The food was very good, nothing particularly special, but they do have great clam chowder. What I didn't like was that our server gave us our check without us asking. We had planned to gave a few more drinks after dessert before our concert. Otherwise, there is a great view and a you'll get a solid meal. Also, the restrooms were very stuffy and were in need of cleaning.
The food and service were very poor. I ordered the lobster bisque and rainbow trout salad, neither of which were properly seasoned. In fact, I didn't finish either, which is saying a lot, because I love lobster bisque. I'd avoid this place for anything other than a beer.
Fun atmosphere right on the water. Ordered Lobster and it did not dissapoint.
Would go back next visit to Boston
Great service service very anxious to please.
Was here 7 years ago food was fantastic. It was the only restaurant in the area that was upscale. Now the area has so many options to choose from, I think the chef needs to taste the side dishes before sending out to the customer...
One of the sides had so much rosemary that If you ate it, it would had stopped your system...
Would not tell a friend for the food
But good for calamari, the view and a drink!!
Overall the meal was good. Our waiter was sub par. Didn't realize they gave complimentary bread and butter until i paid the bill and walked out to see every table with it. Maybe she was having a bad day but today service was horrible.
I really like Legal, and Legal Harborside, but Sunday was a giant fail. Service was awful - maybe there were understaffed, and they were out of food options. I ordered oysters - they were out of several types. Ok. That happens. I ordered Rainbow Trout - they came back to tell me that they were out of it. Portugese Seafood Stew was meh at best, which was my second choice, and even though I think it used to come on a bed of rice, that was missing. Tiny piece of fish, two shrimp, two mussels, lots of stew. We had to ask for rolls, and we had to ask twice for our drinks. I'll think twice before bringing friends from out of town back to the restaurant. There are many more options for good seafood in town these days.
52 minutes to take order and receive rolls
Our waitress was lovely inside and out - very attentive and friendly; nice table and great food.
The service was very slow. The server never stopped back to check on us or offer us another drink. It was a 2 hour lunch when we were planning on a one hour lunch
great food, appetizer came late with entree, long wait for food, had to ask for bread
My waitress Katie is excellent. I’ll come back just for her service.
Great atmosphere, great scenery and great food! The outdoor dining on the porch was perfect for our anniversary.
Can't beat it for Lobster and Steamers in Boston, we will be back
Great food, great view, excellent staff! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
We had a great meal, friendly table service, and enjoyed the view.
Very good swordfish, cooked perfectly. Fryer is gluten free, my meal was great!
Legal seafood handles large groups well. Our party of 12 was seated by the window, as we requested but we know is hard to do. Very friendly waiters and quick service. Fantastic for gluten free, especially the rolls. Sometimes the food quality can be mixed, seems better on a weekday over weekend? But overall good consistent experience.
Fantastic water views are available from virtually every table in this seaport restaurant renowned for it's fresh seafood. The service is friendly, professional and swift. We began with fried calamari/lemons/peppers which were lightly battered and perfect. Second courses were baked cod, fish tacos and salmon all delicious and well prepared. The bar is well stocked and generous. On days with a soft sea breeze there is no better spot to contemplate Boston Harbor.
Oyster, tattinger were awesome
The food was cold and even after telling the stafff nobody seemed to care
The waitress was pleasant but not skilled and/or trained. We ordered a bottle of white wine. She poured the initial taste and the wine glass was warm. She countered that it was just cleaned and didn’t quite understand why that was problematic. Given her response we told her it was fine. However, after the Initial pour she never refilled the glasses throughout the meal! She refilled water. I noticed a dish on a neighboring table and she described it and I ordered it. I assumed I missed it on the menu. No, it apparently was a special and hence she never told us about the specials. It was a delicious salmon filet over pesto with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. The other dishes were very good, though the first order of fried clams was not hot. Worried that the birthday dessert would come without a candle I went to the hostess to express my concern. As I was leaving a gentleman asked about the meal and I mentioned the flawed service. He promptly took my information and stated I would be contacted with a gift card. I do appreciate the effort to encourage customers to return after a less than desirable experience.
In Boston on vacation and this restaurant was recommended to us by someone from Boston. It was excellent and we would recommend everything we had in our group...fried clams, clam chowder, lobster and California rolls. Server was excellent, attentive and helpful to us with our questions! If warmer weather this would be even better to eat outside by the water! Would definitely eat here again - hands down!!
Good tasty food well prepared. Bit noisy but super busy night.
We came after a graduation, and we lucky to have reserved a space ahead of time. We initially had a reservation for 10, we knocked it down to 6 at the last minute, and we were accommodated without question. Even with having a reservation, it was on a busy Sunday (which I know is usual), and we were still able to get a table with a great view of the water! All of the food was delicious as well. Our waitress, Justine, did an amazing job (especially considering that we had several requests). She did everything promptly, and with a smile. Thanks again for everything and we will certainly be back soon!
