Bay scallops, sushi and Dicer Sole were amazing!
Outstanding service by Scott. Jonathan and Danielle could not be nicer and the food was excellent.
Can’t wait to go back !!
I’ve been going to Legal’s since Inman Sq days so it wasn’t my first choice for a business dinner for 8 of us. But we had non shellfish diners who wanted fish and we needed to be on the waterfront. What a joy it was! Great food reasonable prices excellent service. Everyone (all out of towners) were thrilled. As the organizer, so was I. Enjoy cocktails, extensive menu with a huge variety of fresh seafood, salads, and even handling of unusual allergies. Tuna, fish and chips, all enjoyed
The Osterville oysters were perfect. We also had the sole stuffed with crabmeat. And of course they have a wonderful wine list. Our server Devon couldn’t be more knowledgeable or nicer.
The greeter had placed us at a table right where we had requested. Being that the people were from out of town, wanted them to sit right near the water to see the waterline with lights!
The waiter was really nice and informative! He brought a sample of wine and had great knowledge on the beers. Always kept the water glasses filled. Nice touch and cleared food away when plates were finished.
Ordered oysters. Heard they were fresh and yummy. Cocktail sauce has just the right of horseradish!
We ordered clam chowder,( of course the thing someone has to experience when in New England!) Did not disappoint! Thick, tasty, with good amount of clams and potatoes! Fried clams, nicely coated seasoned and fried. Steamers! Broth was with garlic and I think thyme. Preferred the old way they used to serve with just water and a little salt, but these were tender and good. Butter is so creamy and good to dunk them in. When in Boston, you have to have these things prepped in different ways to get the full flare of clams!
Ordered 3 Lobsters rolls. Each with either butter or mayo. Prob a 5 oz portion, chunks very tasty. Rolls were fresh had with the right amount of butter and the ones with mayo not gobbed with it. We prefer the less mix in is best and that’s how it came
Ordered the Special sole of the day. It was delicious with a cream sauce and stuffed with a green veggie. Did not ask person eating it what was, but thoroughly enjoyed the ample portion.
Salad with crabmeat on it was also a good portion. Just enough mayo in it. Could have put a little more greens in the salad, but overall delicious and fresh.
We were celebrating a birthday, so an incredible flourless chocolate cake was brought out. Moist and chocolaty.
All in all a great place to bring out of towners. Love this place during the day and night for the view of the harbor! Will definitely be returning! Thank you providing such a fun dining experience.
The service was wonderful and they even brought a celebratory birthday dessert based on what I said we were celebrating on open table!
Wanted a casual seafood restaurant in the seaport and this was perfect! Food was good, lively atmosphere, and nice to see the water (even on a wintry night). Would definitely recommend.
Great location with valet parking for Seaport tree lighting. Seafood was great but they had a bad night with potato’s. Fries were cold as part of fish and chips. Mashed potato’s with wife’s haddock was watery.
Food was excellent, celebrated my cousin's Bachelor Party and everything was perfect.
We were at the Harborside location. It has an outstanding view of the harbor. My husband tried some fresh oysters, he said they were the best he ever had. Then we ordered mussels in broth for an appetizer, it was amazing. I had the stuffed sole for dinner, great but very rich.. The only letdown was another main course, the swordfish. It was overdone. The restaurant was extremely busy with holiday parties. Overall really good. I would come back and assume the overdone swordfish was a hiccup.
We had a great time at Legal Harborside. When I moved to Boston for school my dad raved about the seafood at Jimmys Harborside when he went there as a child. Despite the change in ownership I wanted to take my Dad to the old Jimmys and get some seafood and the whole experience was wonderful. The food service was amazing and the quality was fantastic, and my dad was very happy overall.
Always a great experience. Food and service was top notch. Thank you for a delightful family dinner.
It felt a little cramped, but the food was good. Always a good place to go on the harbor.
Oysters were delicious!! Also, great spot for a lobster roll!!
Service was amazing, the food was out quick and delicious.
Great food and fun atmosphere. A bit pricey for eating on picnic tables but the quality of the food is consistent and always good. Service was very good as well.
My husband and I had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and service outstanding.
A great Thanksgiving experience!
The food was delicious and abundant. I had enough for another meal to take home.
Most importantly, they easily accommodated my request for a gluten free meal. They bake the gluten free bread while you wait, not long. The only things with gluten were the stuffing and the gravy. I got extra mashed potatoes and no gravy. It was perfect!
The place is a little noisy. We sat side by side at the table to hear each other better. That worked fine.
Will probably go back next year!
We ordered a dozen oysters and half dozen cherrystone clams which were delicious and very fresh. Legal Harborside provided our large group of nine for Thanksgiving lunch with great service and delicious food. The servings of turkey were very generous. The meals came quickly, were nice and hot and very well prepared. Great job!
Terrific service, food and location by the water!!
I had lunch at this restaurant for Thanksgiving but did not have their thanksgiving special. I saw it a couple times as the servers walked by to bring the orders to other tables and it looked amazing! Everything about this restaurant was very nice and the noise level was only a little high because it was packed with people and toddlers. Overall, 5/5!
My dinner (Lobster roll) was excellent. It may have been the BEST lobster roll I have ever eaten. Unfortunately, my companion's Fried Clams were not excellent, not even very good. I tasted a few clams because my friend ate only a few. The clams had an unpleasant after taste. I had a wicked stomach ache later that night - obviously, cannot say the clams caused it. However, my friend also had a stomach problem.
Service was excellent. Legal Harborside continues to be a beautiful restaurant with a magnificent view of Boston Harbor. Unfortunately, the night we were dining, the weather was very cold, very dark and raining heavily. Obviously, Legal has no control over the weather.
This is my favorite Legal Seafood with a walk of windows open in summer to the harbor. The food is consistently good as is the service. Order anything.
We arrived from the Uk for my son’s 21st birthday celebration. I hadn’t seen my son for 4 months - he’s here studying in the USA for a year. We sat down and were confronted with his age regarding drinking. He presented his Uk drivers licence, then we were told that they couldn’t accept that or a passport. Go figure. We sat there for a few minutes feeling rather deflated and then my son said he would go and get his passport from the hotel, a 15 minute walk. I asked the staff whether they would accept an international passport for proof and was told that they would go and check - unbelieveable. At this point we decided that we would leave the restaurant. Since, we have visited several restaurants in Boston and have not had the rudeness we received that night. The manager was extremely rude. Their loss - we could have spent a few hundred dollars. I would never return. I believe that there is a way of delivering a service and I understand that they have to check ID but the manager was rude and dismissive. We will never return and never recommend.
It would be hard to find a restaurant that is as consistently excellent as Legal Seafoods. The service, the ambiance, and of course, the food, all top notch
Ordered blackened. Came back grilled. Told lobster was 59. Charged 89. But. Was excellent.
Enjoyed a bday dinner with girlfriends— delicious food— we had the lobster roll, fried shrimp, and crab cake. Also love the warm rolls. Great cocktails. Excellent service by Jose. Especially love this location for visitors because of the amazing views of the water! I always choose Floor 1 because we prefer casual dining, but it’s fun to go upstairs and see the view up there. The Christmas decor was already up and so beautifully done!
Another excellent meal at legal Harborside. Our waiter (Francisco) was awesome! Refilled water in a timely manner but left us alone to chat - great balance! The food as always was awesome. Definitely go back and hope we see our waiter again - he was great!!
No complaints - food was generous & delicious . Waiter was excellent
Great service. The view was amazing. It caught the attention of my girlfriend heart !!! She fall in love with the restaurant, immediately we arrived. Overall, the server was really excellent. She helped us on so many things.
The Surf and Turf was terrible because of the sauce.
Waitress made me feel so
Rushed. I felt hovered over and it wasn’t busy at all. Food is great so I’ll be back.
Our service was great. The Lobster Bisque was tasteless, 3 pieces of lobster and very thick. Too pricey with lack of taste and lobster. Seasonal salad lack taste. Dressing was weak. Disappointed after hearing good things about Legal Seafood. Traveled from Dallas and was looking forward to a good meal.
Our dinner was DELICIOUS! I was a little put off by having a reservation then having to wait 20 minutes for a table but once we were seated, everything was perfect. We had a wonderful waiter. I had the special-a crab cake, a skewer of shrimp and a skewer of scallops on a bed of greens. Everything was cooked perfectly and it was perfectly delicious.
Wait staff was terrible, rude to our out of country guests. Messed up the orders brining you table. Then came over several times to ask us if we were done. Clearly she could see we had a discussion going on. Very disappointed our out of country guests requested going their for their only meal while in Mass. Very sad
Seafood tower was amazing, shrimp cocktail was a little overcooked. Overall though amazing experience.
Outstanding service by Jose. We both had the swordfish that was amazing.
Wonderful options for gluten free patrons.
All the food was spectacular. Our server, Eddie, was great. The Host also was great, talking all our bags from the table and checking them for us. Highly recommend.
We requested a window seat on the open table app, we were not offered until we were directed to the "original" table and I said something. Being seated with a reservation was 20 delayed, but no biggie. We both had the lobster , it was delicious! The view is spectacular! Highly recommend!
