Legal Harborside - Floor 1 Restaurant and Market
Here you'll enjoy an all-day menu of seafood favorites with a twist as well as shareable plates, pastas and pizzas made to order in an open kitchen. Choose to eat at one of the picnic tables for an authentic throwback experience or grab a seat at the oyster bar and watch our shuckers at work (up to 14 varieties of oysters are offered daily). A large elliptical bar offers both wine and local beers on tap. Patio seating, along Boston's HarborWalk, affords a clear view of the Boston Fish Pier, the oldest working fish pier in the country, and the city skyline.
Our waiter Charlie, was fantastic, and accommodating!
This is our fifth visit to the place and our goto restaurant when up in Boston area
Food was mediocre, service was average at best. Value for cost not there.
the server was all over the place she seem like she wasnt sure we was her table
Great place for Valentine’s Day dinner, food was amazing.
Loved the Portuguese seafood stew, shrimp cocktail and grilled salmon!
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston! Our table had the coconut shrimp, shrimp tacos, and of course the lobster rolls. AMAZING!
Was greeted at the table by an outgoing gentlemen that was extremely passionate about his job and and extremely knowledgeable when it came to the menu. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to serve us.
The food was excellent, the service was speedy and the view was awesome! Our table was ready when we arrived. The drinks and the food were fairly priced for the area. The restaurant was a bit loud, but we were there at prime time and the place was packed. Great Experience and we hope to return in the summer to dine with that view again!
Reliable fresh fish if a bit boring.
We had a large (8) family group for lunch that included 3 youngsters 6 and under. Sage, server was great, very patient, very professional. She offered to bring the kids meals with our apps which worked well. One thing. They had run out of crayons for the kids. Seems like something that shouldn’t happen. But Sage offered one of her pens. Food was very good as always. Overall very enjoyable lunch for both adults and kids.
I wasn’t impressed with the food. Overpriced and not as expected. Great water view but clam chowder was average and the sides were mushy. I won’t rush back.
I have never had a bad meal at Legal in the 36 years that I have been going to their restaurants! I take all my friends and family to Legal Harborside when they fly into Logan. My absolute favorite meal is the Faroe Island Salmon. YUMMY!!!
My husband, daughter and I were in town for a dance conference and the kick off of her 11th birthday celebration. Service was excellent from the host, manager and serving team. They even sang happy birthday and served her with the most decadent piece of chocolate torte we’ve ever had! The food was incredible- the only disappointment was I ordered the salmon salad - it was a new preparation so the server went over the description with me as on the menu it only stated kale and quinoa. The salmon was cooked perfectly but there was a hearty amount of kalamata olives tossed in the kale and quinoa. Yuck! I must be the only Italian alive that doesn’t like olives! I did mention it to our server so they might consider adding that distinctive ingredient to the menu description. He was very gracious and as we were leaving saw that he was speaking with his manager about it.
Great dinner on the water. Love Legal Harborside!
Great night with visitors from out of town (Ireland and NC)!
Legal Harborside is part of the Legal Sea Food chain. It has 3 floors, each with a different menu. The first floor plays tribute to the original Legal Sea Foods located at Inman Square in Boston. The menu has everything you would expect from LSF, especially the famed New England Clam Chowder. I also had fish & chips which was very well prepared and tasty. The service is friendly. The restaurant is busy during lunchtime so reservations are strongly advised. The views of Boston Harbor are also very nice. I highly recommend Legal Harborside.
I can't rate the food as we didn't get a chance to sample any. My wife and I were visiting the seaport area and decided to try Legal Seafoods Harborside. We booked on Opentable at last minute - had not realized that each floor of the Harborside is a separate restaurant with different menus and ambiance. We were shown to a table downstairs where it can generously be described as "rustic" - loud, open plan, and a basic menu much as you'd find in the Outback or similar. Not at all what we were looking for - table next to us had folks who had their feet up on the bench style seats....It took around 15mins to get the attention of our server, and we asked if the whole restaurant was like this. We were told that if we wanted fine dining we should have booked upstairs - well, that's great if you know already but not obvious to people who have never been before. We asked if we could move, and were told she'd have to check with the manager. After about 10mins he came over and said we could move upstairs but only high tops were available. That was fine with us - we went upstairs and got a high top table. There was only a drinks menu at the table, and when my wife asked for a food menu, was told "oh no, there's no eating at the high tops dear" in an incredibly patronizing way. Needless to say that this point we left - on our way out we told the front of house staff what had transpired but they gave no indication of caring. Crossed the street to LTK and had a very dinner there instead with very friendly staff. Won't be back.
The food and service was good. Our table location was terrible , at the kitchen exit and restroom entrance. I asked for a different table but they could not accommodate us
Food did not live up to Legals standards
Food is always good. Great service. Good wines by the glass.
Honestly, we were really disappointed with our experience at this location. The saving grace was a beautiful waterfront view, but there are a couple other restaurants along this strip with a similar view. The food was fine (nothing special) and the service was fine, but disorganized. The restaurant's system lost our entire order so we had to reorder 20 minutes in and when we received our order, half of the orders came out incorrect or missing items. We ended up being late to our appointment due to these errors and feeling fed, but not really happy. Hopefully this was an anomaly, but I'll likely never come back to find out.
Great seafood , very fresh and service was great!
As in previous visits, you cannot beat Legal Harborside for seafood.
Oysters, Lobster rolls, and steamed live Lobsters were great.
Service was excellent on a freezing cold January 2019 visit.
The spicy calamari hit the spot! So good! (Sides of the spicy mayo and lemon-mustard sauces go well with it)! We ended up splitting a Caesar Salad with Grilled Swordfish on the side... waiter brought both already separated - so thoughtful! I’m also gluten-free, so gluten-free rolls and gluten-free fried anything is a rarity at many restaurants. Legals is guilty of not conforming to sub-standard gluten-free options! (Gluten-free croutons! Though too hard to bite, it’s the thought that counts...) We left there sufficiently surrencified!
The ambiance and food were excellent. The staff was congenial and very helpful. Service was slow and from the looks of things that was because the bar, and probably the kitchen, was understaffed. We did enjoy the evening and will certainly be back again.
Food was outstanding as usual and our server was great. We hung out long after the bill came and she didnt push us. We then got coffee but she was pleasant and attentive.
Very disappointed. I ordered a lobster roll at the market rate of $30. The roll had very, very little lobster which was over cooked. It was accompanied by a small cup of Cole slaw & French fries. In all, a very expensive mediocre dinner.
We loved the service, fresh seafood, and the views! Will be coming back here often!
Food and service was great!! Great ambience and view of the water!! Will definitely come back!
Had a little birthday dinner for my mother food was great! Really enjoyed trying alllt he different local raw oysters
Cute date night
Legal is typically well organized from it’s service to the food. We were there twice this past week.
First time the Lobster rolls were great, however, the second time they seems over prepared and somewhat drier.
The first time they were served cold as ordered and the second time they were ordered warm. The fries the second time were over cooked to very dry as well.
Cold or warm, they should not be dry tasting. So, someone who prepared the second meal just did not follow the company’s script.
Nonetheless , Legals is generally a great place to dine.
It was pretty average. Nice setting but I was expecting a lot more. After a nice front of house greeting our server was not that attentive and the price did not fit the food, which was more TGIF that fisherman’s wharf.
Food and service were fantastic! It was my daughter’s birthday so I noted that in my OpenTable reservation. They actually read the reservation and the waiter wished my daughter a happy birthday the first time he came to the table!
Place is very nice. Food was excellent!
As always, we had a great lunch at Legal. I think I have been to all the Legal Seafood locations in the Greater Boston area and some beyond. This one is one of my favorites because it's right on the water and the views are amazing. Oysters were delicious! They sometimes have the Welfleet Oysters, which are my favorite and they had them today. Parking is pricey in the Seaport District but they validate for Valet and a garage nearby for about $21. Better than the 30+ prices in the garages around there. And, it's a very quick walk from the train Station.
Great lobsters and steamers! Always enjoy coming here. Service
Is incredible too.
Everything was fine here except the service. I dont know what I did to make our server angry, but when I got my sushi to go she squished it all into a tiny little box, and it looked like someone had stomped on it.
Legal's is always great...but this location is special!
