The menu showcases the freshness and purity of our seafood. Tried-and-true favorites from all the Legal Sea Foods concepts (Legal Sea Foods, Legal Test Kitchen, Legal C Bar and Legal Harborside, Floor 1 and 2) - evolved by preparation and/or presentation - along with exclusive offerings, comprise the menu mix. At the same time, we’re shaking things up with our cocktails. Many of them are a playful nod to Downtown Crossing’s colorful past, while the influence of Chinatown is seen in some of the exotic ingredients used.
Legal crossing is well located in downtown theatre district. Has best of all the Legal Seafood restaurants. Service was great, food creative and noise subsided when theatre crowd thins out. .
Legal always has great service. Perfect for a family meal before a show.
We love this restaurant. Legal never disappoints and we love the Asian accents to the food. Wonderful all-around experience.
The waitress was extraordinary. That's why I left a 25% tip. Ambience is super. The cost was a little two high.
Lovely atmosphere. Sat at the bar and had small plates and sharers crispy salmon was very good and also crab cakes staff very efficient and polite
Great server, great location but the food was cold and bland.
Great after performance meal with family of 4.
Great food! Great Service!
Great dinner with efficient service and delicious food!
Went to Legal Crossing with family and kids before the theater. Service was great, food was wonderful and we can't wait to go back!
I was thrilled to find so many vegetarian choices offered on the menu. Finally! Delicious meal. I trust Legal for having clean kitchens.
This is a pleasant restaurant especially suitable for before/after theater/movie. The food is good with nice small/full dinner options and service is friendly and efficient.
Our go to place after a performance at the Opera House.
Convenient and we enjoy the selection of small plates for sharing.
Our waiter was great - we had a lot of questions about the menu this trip and he did a great job providing a response to each of our inquiries.
Decent food especially..... seafood Cobb salad. Cesar salad had some problems... the yogurt dressing was wrong for the mix....not tasty. No garlic flavor and too thick. It did not coat the greens, rather weighed them down. Not sure what the small round seed/bread ingredient was in the salad....like a corn nut? It did not add to salad texture or flavor and was not listed as an ingredient. Finally, an overabundance of tough romaine rib was used and too little dark green leaf.
This restaurant is so conveniently located to the Boston Opera House that it is our go-to place before or after a show. The food is reliable but never outstanding, very much in the Legal Seafoods tradition. Fish is fresh and cooked nicely, but your meal is never super memorable. The non-meat items are really pedestrian: overly sweet Bang Bang Cauliflower, for example, and a truly inexplicable kale caesar salad with way too much creamy dressing. Legal Seafoods could do much, much better in developing appealing vegetable-centered dishes that complement their fish and shellfish menu and that would make dining there much more fun for groups of people with diverse needs. This location has good bartenders.
One thing we noticed this time around is that they did not have several items on the menu. The server explained that they will change menus next week, so they are not preparing large amounts of any item. That suggest poor planning, which is surprising for this particular company.
Legal Crossing is our go to place when we have ballet or theatre across the street and it never disappoints. Service is attentive, food comes promptly, the food is very good, the atmosphere has a buzz. All in all a good meal at a reasonable price.
Most of the food was as solid as always. One of our group of 4 had a meal that had to be re-cooked as it was very different than the description on the menu.
Had a lovely dinner prior to the theater. Waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing - and food was delicious. Atmosphere was busy but could still easily hold a conversation. All in all enjoyed our meals.
Legal Crossing (Washington St) has a slightly more ambitious menu than other locations. This time it was very good. Oysterfest special baked oysters with lobster and spinach were great. My tuna with sweet potato special was good, if a little underseasoned. Service was perfect and friendly. A good place to eat before or after the movies or a show downtown. People still coming in when we left at 10:30 PM.
Great food and great service
Interesting menu. Everything was tasty. Lots of inexpensive options
Lovely dinner. My other guest was late and they were very pleasant about it . Wonderful meal , terrific service and so convenient to the opera house .
Good: Waitress / hostess were nice, fish cake was good and drinks were good. Bad: entrees were terrible and were over thirty dollars. Not opposed to paying for a good meal but have had better (and less greasy) cod at chain fast food places and halibut dish was too salty to enjoy at all.
Fabulous dinner and wine prior to opening night at the Ballet. We shared 5 small plates and had a wonderful french white wine- a perfect selection.
Just a little dark in there but otherwise very, very good experience. Can't wait to go back.
The staff looked overworked and exhausted but the food was pleasantly surprising. Regardless, the staff indifference and ambience would not draw us to eat here again.
Sat at the bar and Rewell made for a very pleasant experience. Thorough knowledge of the food menu and the wine list and makes an awesome cocktail. Not our first time at Legal Crossing and not our first time being treated by Rewell. We will continue to come back!
Great atmosphere and food - Nick was great and did a great job!
I often invite friends for lunch at Legal Crossing. The food is always very good. We tend to have the lovely seafood salads and they are fresh and delicious. But for some reason the service there is always spotty. Takes a while to get someone to recognize you've been seated and waiting to order. On this particular visit we watched everyone around us getting rolls and had to finally ask for some. That's why I think service is unreliable. But I still go back.
Menu is horrible, and food tasted terrible will never go back here
Everyone is so accommodating! From the moment we walk in the door there are warm welcomes all around. We enjoy dining at the bar. Rewell is the best and over the top bartender! He definitely knows how to please. This is our go to place and are never disappointed. Thank you!
I usually love this place, but my meal was bad. Never a good thing, but really frustrating when it’s expensive. I don’t mind paying for quality. My salmon was too rare in the middle but burnt on the outside. The Caesar salad dressing was bland. Maybe the main chef’s day off???
Food was excellent. Well prepared and delicious. Exceeded our expectations
The food was good but not great. Not a lot of flavor.
Legal Crossing is a perfect setting for business luncheon and dinner. The atmosphere is relaxed yet professional, it has become the go-to place to entertain our clients.
Excellent service. Shared ‘ small plates ‘ - always fun
Our server, Chris, was great. He made wonderful recommendations and provided great service.
Food at Legal Crossing is consistently excellent. For the first time, the coffee was so bitter it was undrinkable. I know that if I had said something they would have replaced it with a freshly made cup. Otherwise wonderful as ever!
This is a very good restaurant which is part of the Legal Seafood chain and located in the theater district. The food uniformly very good and the sides are decent. Everything is pricey but that's the city. It's a good choice before the theater.
Legal Crossing is a great option for dinner before a show at the Opera House. The menu is varied, the food good and the waiters understand we have a deadline and so ensure that service is prompt
