The menu showcases the freshness and purity of our seafood. Tried-and-true favorites from all the Legal Sea Foods concepts (Legal Sea Foods, Legal Test Kitchen, Legal C Bar and Legal Harborside, Floor 1 and 2) - evolved by preparation and/or presentation - along with exclusive offerings, comprise the menu mix. At the same time, we’re shaking things up with our cocktails. Many of them are a playful nod to Downtown Crossing’s colorful past, while the influence of Chinatown is seen in some of the exotic ingredients used.
Good food. Good service. Great atmosphere for dining!
The only stand out was dessert.
Cocktails were insipid and watery.
Overall not was good as our last visit
Good food and service. A nice meal! Great location.
After the theatre dinner
Our server was excellent and helpful. We eat a Legal Chestnut Hill all the time. This is the first time I thought my meal at Legal X was as good as at Chestnut Hill. The Salmon with Teriyaki sauce, shitaki mushrooms was excellent. The whole experience was top rate. There were 10 people partying at the table next to us who were noisy. But this can't be helped. We will certainly return.
We went for lunch before the Ballet as it is just across the street and they accommodate you so that you can make the show time. The menu has changed with many (delicious) Japanese flavors. Our lunch was excellent and Nancy was polite and attentive and a great waitress (Thanks Nancy).
I had out of town guests who wanted to experience New England seafood. They were thrilled!
Booked a table here for pre-theatre dining. Surprised it wasn’t too busy. We just shared a couple of appetizers - both were very good. My cranberry g&t lacked any gin flavour. It was tricky to flag down our server a couple of times but she was mostly good - friendly and helpful.
Fabulous dinner of small plates and appetizers before the Ballet. Very attentive service kept us on schedule. We shared a wonderful bottle of wine and had plenty of time to enjoy our meal before the show.
Excellent food. I liked being able to order a smaller plate. It cost less and was better for someone with a smaller appetite.
Very attractive space, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly service. Our appetizers were very good (crushed cucumbers and Korean short ribs). Unfortunately both of our fish dinners were overdone. The Everything Tuna was requested medium rare, and was solidly medium. Sea bass should have been moist, but was dry. For a seafood restaurant, this was disappointing. Side dishes were very good. I imagine if we had mentioned it right away they would have exchanged our meals, but we didn’t have time since we ate pre theater.
I’ve been going to Legal Seafood at different locations for almost 30 years and the service as well as the food are second to none!
Decent food seafood quality definitely a 3/5
This was our second visit here, the first with a reservation. We arrived about 15 minutes early but was seated immediately. Our orders were quickly taken. Bread was brought to the table and it was very good. My wife and I both had the clam chowder and it was very good- lots of stock. She had the seared scallops, I had the broiled shrimp. I thought the sides (squash and brown rice) was good, she thought they were so-so. The main entrees themselves were very good. For dessert, we both had the chocolate mousse and it was really, really good.
They have small plates to share and that might be the way to go if you aren't totally thrilled with the side offerings- we would have enjoyed the option of having the brussel sprouts as a side choice.
With a glass of wine and a glass of soda, our bill before tax was $115. Meagan our server was very good, attentive but not too much. Nice location in the heart of the theater district, just down the street from Chinatown.
Australian travellers staying near by Loved the small plates to share. We had crab cakes, calamari, sashimi, short ribs and bok Choy all delicious.
Delicious seafood in one of my favorite cities!! All the seafood looked good, but I had the sole and my boyfriend had the swordfish.
The atmosphere was great, and we loved the crab cakes, but my pan seared haddock was not edible. It was soggy and I simply couldn’t eat it. I love legals, hopefully it was just a one off.
My fiancé and I came in for a valentines dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the gentleman that sat us at our table(come to find out later he was the assistant general manager, Doug). The food was amazing, our server was knowledgeable about food and drinks and offered a great recommendation when we couldn’t pick between 2 entrees.
We were very happy with everything overall! We will definitely be back! Thank you Nick, Doug, and Joanna!
Our reserved table was ready in time and our server attentive. Generally everything was very nice, but my husband’s rare tuna arrived on the well done side. We mentioned it to the server. The manager replaced it with a perfect one - and took the plate off the bill. Obviously, would have been better to get it right the first time, but how they handled it was first-rate. We will return!
Everything was great. The waiter greeted us with happy Valentines Day which was sweet!
So different than Legal Seafoods! More experimental, love the small plates for sharing, everything we got was simply excellent. If you share small plates, you'll also find it a decent value.
Service was a bit slow.
Food was excellent, we had oysters, the linguine with clams, and the cod. It was a little loud and we were seated in a bar area where lots of folks were standing around so that was a bit uncomfortable. Service was pretty good, had an allergy certified server and food was presented separately.
Outstanding good and great service!
Not your average a Legal’s . Which is great Legal Crossing is superlative. Unique offering and friendly environment where everyone knows your name
Chef Par continues to amaze with unique offering. Bartender ReWell mixes up some terrific cocktails
Don’t miss this place
We had a great dinner before going to a show at The Opera House. Our waiter kept an eye on the time and made sure we were well taken care of. Perfect location if you are going to the theater.
We go to Legal Seafood all the time, Chestnut Hill and Assembly Square, Legacy Place. We love the menu here at Legal
Crossing. IT was so different from any Legal we have been to and greatly executed. I can't wait to go back
I was pleasantly surprised by this spacious restaurant downtown. It's beautiful, comfortable & delicious!
The staff was very kind to me and my family member.
The food was pricey and portions were small but it was delicious! We ordered the crab cake from the "Shareable Menu" and there was only 1 crab cake. Great kids menu and the restaurant was extremely cautious regarding my daughter's peanut allergy. The server of her dish (hot dogs with the best potato wedges in the history of potato wedges) assured us it was prepared on a separate space and was allergy free for her. We were sat immediately upon arrival. The only drawback was how dark the restaurant was- very poorly lit.
Great venue for lunch or dinner, prior to a show. The clam chowder is great, service is solid, festive bar.
My meal had to go back to the kitchen several times. Never did arrive as requested.
Great service. Delicious food as always!
Legal Crossing is our go to spot before the theater. The staff is always welcoming and professional and the food is always good. We are never rushed - even when the kids get dessert.
Haven’t had good food like that in a very very long time! Great reasonable prices
I have been going there for several years and I need to say the quality of the food has been better. Everything was ok but not outstanding as it has been in the past.
Wonderful pre-theater dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. All of the food we ordered was delicious.
Our favorite place to go! Always good food and service!
Went to dinner before going to a performance at the Opera House; very convenient location, right across the street from the theater and 2 blocks from parking garage. Our waiter was sensitive to our time constraints but did not rush us. Good food, nice atmosphere.
