Legal C Bar - Hingham Ratings and Reviews
The food was nothing like Boston, portions were a joke! half the size of Boston shame on you!!!!! ripping people off for good numbers will NOT bring them back... the men,s room with these stupid out dated no water urinals the stink just awful...if? you like Boston DO NOT GO there please...
Prices are rather high for what you get. Brussels sprouts were delicious however the almost $30 truffle Mac n cheese entree I ordered had no truffles or truffle oil and had about 1-1.5 ounces of lobster and about 2 cups of Panko bread crumbs that seemed to be from the bottom of the bag. Also the dish was supposed to have peas in it and I counted 8 peas. It was dry and not creamy. To be fair the manager took it off our bill but I left hungry. The wine was good and salad was as it should be. Restaurant is good for a quick easy bite after shopping with easy access and good location. Convenient.
We had terrible service once again at Legal C in Hingham- we will not be going back. There were two waitresses assigned to our table, but I don't know why, as there was no communication between them. It took forever to get our drinks and appetizers. They then forgot to put in my dinner order, and 40 minutes later when we asked where our meals were, the response was, "Oh you ordered food?" They brought the one order of crab cakes and said my meal hadn't even been started. I said I had to leave to pick up my daughter- no apology or compensation, and the restaurant was 3/4 full at that point. So sub par to Legal Seafood. Never again though!
The food was amazing! The downfall was that all of the guests that were seated around us had small children who were not happy. Some having birthdays. I’m not sure if it’s routine to sit kids towards the back of the restaurant but there were plenty of tables available in front as well. Maybe we were placed in the back mistakenly? I love children and have many of my own along with grandchildren but sometimes a quiet meal is nice. A little disappointing with so much noise.
My wife and I had the Thai-influenced salmon with rice noodles, which were flooded with a very salty Hoisin type sauce. The noodles were very long and too tough to cut up. My granddaughter had the sole with spinach, which she enjoyed. We had the pumpkin cheesecake, which was average at best. Overall, not up to Legal standards.
We eat here a lot and the food is always very good. The Legal Seafood franchise may have the best tasting burger of all restaurants suuprisingly. We had a new waitress on 11/11/17 we have never seen before, Sarah, who was very efficient, friendly and curtious and made the dining experience better than usual.
A friend was visiting from Ohio and said she was craving seafood. Legal C was my first choice in that area of town. She was thrilled and so was I. I've been to Legal C a dozen times at least. Everything is consistent, from menu to service to quality and ambiance. I give it a 10 Thumbs Up!
Enjoyed most aspects of the Legal C Bar in Hingham. Food was good, and service was very good. Only major issue was the noise. We sat in a booth (that was good), but the high-top tables that were adjacent had larger parties of 5 or 6 people, and they were very noisy. The high-tops do not provide any shield from the shrill laughter or those yelling across the table to others.
Had difficulty having conversation.
Dined there many times, always a great meal. This time the service ruined the meal.
Daughter ordered an adult cheeseburger and was served a kids hamburger. After waiting 15 minutes the chef delivered the correct burger. Only once did our server come to apologize.
We all finished our meal before the burger came. Kind of killed our family dinner on a Saturday
Legal Seafood has great options at every location. The Derby Street C Bar is one of the best options at this mall. The waiters are really knowledgeable and the food excellent. What's great about the franchise is that the menu changes frequently enough that it's easy to find something new to try.
There were 6 of us. All of us had different food requirements. The waitstaff was most helpful and patient--very friendly. Also, the manager came over several times to make sure everything was ok. So, between attentive staff, amazing food and wonderful ambience, we would not hesitate to go back there again, even tho it is not close to our home.
Legal C is a great place to dine almost any night of the week. Food is very good and the service is attentive as well. The servers are always willing to accommodate any special requests or needs you might have. If you go there during the week or before 6:30. it's more likely to be quieter. Saturday nights after 6:30 will give you a noisier crowd, often making it difficult to carry on a conversation. You might want to ask for a booth away from the bar.
