Great meals, excellent service. Have been to Legal many times.
Great sushi and fries.
I really enjoyed eating here. Food was great, portions were not gratuitous. Sushi was surprisingly delicious and alcoholic drinks were unique and fun. The service was great, and the spacing of tables was very nice.
Too slow omg 45 mins for oysters
Always a good experience albeit loud!
Coleen ,our waitress , was delightful and thoughtful
Stay away if you don’t like oily dishes. I will never go back there or to any Legal seafood
My wife and I had the tuna steak (test) and the meal was skimpy and without much flavor. The tuna was fine, but there weren't many vegetables and the ones that on the plate were boring. I have had many better meals at Legal, and will still go back - but will not order the same dish again.
Also - I had expected the menu to include some sort of fish salad - shrimp salad or lobster salad. There were three non-fish salads, and while you could add salmon or lobster it was not the same as a salad that is made with fish.
I would rate the the fish taco a D+. And paying $16. for poor quality food reminds me never to dine at Legal C again.
Two out of our four dishes were over-cooked, and one came out cold.
After not seeing my friend for almost two years, we decided on Legal C Bar in Dedham. The restauant was hot but it was a over 95 degree day so we'll take that into consideration. Our Sangria was yummy & the wellfleet oysters were equally delicious. Our meal was very disappointing, whole belly clam plate - The clams were awful, they were overcooked, small and many were just strips instead of the whole belly clams that we ordered.. we let our waiter know and the manager agreed that the clams were overcooked. She offered a replacement or something else - we went with one order of the whole bellies. The replacement were less cooked but still small and lots of strips. I would order them here again.
Food was outstanding, our sever was delightful!
Better than last time Still not as good as previous ownership.
I ordered a burger and it was overcooked.
Good quality foods
Never disappoints. Excellent food. Casual atmosphere. Not rushed.
I came in with my Mom and daughter. The server was very nice though a bit scattered especially towards the end of the meal. The noise was bad as there was a table near us on FaceTime on their cell phone being very loud with whoever they were taking to. We were also near the kitchen and bathroom which wasn’t great. Felt dark and the bathroom floor was all wet and seemed a bit gross.
The clam chowder was delicious but baked stuffed shrimp a bit of a disappointment; barely any stuffing and only 4 shrimp for $32? The green beans and asparagus were well cooked but sadly cold on arrival. And I miss the old way of having the baked stuff shrimp in the casserole dish with lots of the delicious stuffing. I barely had any.
My drink was very good and key lime dessert was also. Coffee was okay.
I’d say it was okay but the table location, loudness around us, cold sides, lack of stuffing, up and down service and price for an entree with 4 shrimp only were the low points. We will be back but will ask for a table far away from the bathroom and kitchen and probably try other entrees.
And the bathroom - gross.
The good: The food continues to be excellent at this restaurant
The bad: Keep in mind that we have been very understanding with all businesses during this unprecedented time, and our expectations are always on par with the trouble restaunrats are having hiring staff. With that, after 45 minutes of waiting for our food (sushi), we asked our server how our food was doing, and she cheerfully said i will go and check on that. Came back and told us it'll be 6 minutes. Another 15-20 minutes later, our food arrived, with no acknowledgement that this was perhaps out of line. The food was excellent, although a $6 seaweed salad was about 3 tablespoons (and when I asked if that was the proper size since it looked like a condiment, I was told that seaweed salad is expensive). Well, it was a good seaweed salad!
Hasn’t lost a beat from the sake or from Covid.
Big menu with a host of non traditional Legal” items, dishes with Asian flair, and big selection of non-fish -items for your friends that love you more than seafood. Kids menu too.
I had one of the worst dining experiences at Legal C Bar in Legacy Place, Dedham, MA last night. The waitress didn’t come to our table to ask for a drink until after 30 minutes of sitting down. I even went to the host stand to ask where the waitress was - and the hostess didn’t do anything about it. Immediately upon the waitresses arrival, we ordered our ENTIRE meal for two people, which didn’t arrive for over an HOUR. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, which was the size of a kids meal and was $44. Anytime we requested something, it took over 20 minutes to arrive. Absolutely disgusted by the price and the experience.
This use to be a high end restaurant. The place seemed old and not very clean to us. Floors were dirty unfortunately we sat a table where the servers were in and out Would not go back there Need to be totally updated
The ambiance was nice but the food was okay. The waitress didn't come by as often.
I am bored with the Legal menu. The c bar doesn’t offer much variety besides the regular legal. Prices are very high-$36 for a lobster roll. The food is all right, nothing spectacular except for the chowder. Mussels is probably the best deal and fairly delicious.
This was a dinner with good friends intended to celebrate post pandemic freedom. We were seated at a requested quiet table but many things fell short. The service was slow, condiments had to be requested multiple times and the quality of the food was mediocre, not up to usual Legal Seafood quality. The fish and chips were quite overcooked and the cajun shrimp were bland. Strangely, we had asked how many oysters came with the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer and were told 6. When the dish arrived, there were only 4. The typically great Legal Seafood rolls tasted as though they had been reheated in a microwave.
Unfriendly, unaccommodating people…, extremely slow service, the stuff shrimp had NO stuffing
What a waste of time and money.
Whoever owns this place should reevaluate it’s operation
Grilled fish dinners were bleak, overcooked and side vegetables were tough and discolored. I specifically ordered my salmon rare and it was well done. My boyfriends swordfish was like cardboard covered in a bottle of green olives. Overall just bad. Rolls which I used to love are smaller and flatter and the Caesar salad came with a pile of thick chunky Romano cheese on top not shaved parm. It was pretty much all bad and I’m a big legal fan in general. This is all new and I’m pretty sad about it. I did have a nice espresso martini and the servers were pleasant.
Food was fabulous as usual, but it seemed like they were significantly understaffed in both the kitchen and waitstaff. Everything was tasty and hot but it was slooooow.
It was noisy and we felt pushed by the waitress but I understand that bc it was busy. Food was good as slways
Moved us from a table outdoors at our request and put us right next to a table of at least 10 guys who were extremely loud. Waitress acted half dead and the personal touch was missing entirely. It was freezing cold and very uncomfortable. Bad experience.
Really appreciated being able to get patio service!
We were seated immediately and we had a very enjoyable Father's Day lunch with our family. The food was delicious as always. We wouldn't have minded more of a lunch memo than the full dinner menu, but it's all good.
Service was excellent. New tuna entree was outstanding!
Love Legal Seafood. First time going since Roger sold the business. New additions to the menu which were great. Service was excellent! Would definitely go back!
The food is becoming* uninspired. I do hope it
does not devolve into another low end hamburger place.
It was okay. After a year of home cooked meals we were looking forward to going out and being served. On a quiet Tuesday night, they were out of the Legal Test Kitchen Tuna entree we wanted. So for the same price, we got the grilled Tuna instead with 2 sides. It was tasty and a nice size but not so special to be worth the huge price. Just ordinary fries and grilled asparagus came with a slab of tender grilled fish. We ordered it rare but it came medium. The organic salad with tomato balsamic dressing was fresh and delicious, probably the best item we ordered. . The bread was a little stale. The dragon salmon maki we ordered for an appetizer was just okay, not super fresh and amazing. It was still fun to go out.
Excellent wait person - did not hurry us but was friendly and attentive to details - like dressing on the side or light on the feta.
Good consistent food. Service was ok given the times we live in
Really fresh seafood and the waitstaff is always friendly and helpful!
The fish tacos were outstanding. Lots of fish nicely cooked and presented.
