The bartender, Lauren, took great care of us and made us feel at home!
A really lovely dinner for a date! Delicious from appetizer to dessert!
This place is outstanding. Great service better food
Good, but not great basically sums it up. (Which sums up a lot of restaurants in the W. Village) My date and I had the brussel sprout salad, two pasta entrees, a couple of cocktails, and the flourless chocolate cake. As mentioned in the beginning, our cocktails were good. The pasta was good. The salad was good. The cake, mediocre. For the price we paid, it should've been better. Not sure about dinner here again, but would go back to the bar for a drink. Seemed quite cozy and lively.
Food - SO average and uninteresting. This could be any mediocre restaurant in NYC
Always enjoy coming here, excellent drinks, from classic cocktails to their own mixes, very friendly and knowledgable staff, and the food is just plain excellent.
Pasta was phenomenal! Ambiance was great
Pleasantly surprised. Pass by restaurant several times when walking dog, etc. Made a reservation for Restaurant Week. Very good. Great staff. Definitely go back again.
Justin was our server and he was a gem. Patient and funny. Kind and generous. Even after the restaurant had cleared out, all patrons had left, and almost every table's chairs had been flipped over, Justin still offered to get us some dessert and coffee. Thank you sir. You made this nervous first-date an easy one!
All servers in NYC should be like the ones there, genuinely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Food is outstanding, great ambiance.
I'm gluten, dairy and wheat intollerant and our server was so sweet and patient trying to find the right dishes for me and working with the chef to find me alternatives. Our server was so nice and came around the perfect amount throughout our meal.
The burger was great as was the maître de!
Unfortunately our waitress had attitude and that changes the dining experience :(
The fish had no taste and the coffee was luke warm.
Odd given the prior reviews
Hostess was lovely and inviting. It is a pretty and cozy spot. However, I thought the food was good but not at all special. Was hoping for more.
Wonderful neighborhood place in the West Village! Cozy, friendly, and great food. Delicious preparations, very fresh, generous portions. Brussels sprouts salad, crispy seared chicken, gnocchi all exceptional. We’ll be back!
First time dining at Left Bank and went during Restaurant Week. Sooo many great items to choose from—luckily when you dine with friends you can try a wider variety. I thought my soup was under seasoned, but the pasta dishes were phenomenal (cacio e pepe and pesto gnocchi). Very generous portions! We enjoyed all the desserts as well, though my fav was the mousse. Service was spot on and our waitress made great cocktail recommendations. I’ll definitely be back.
Very delicious food and intimate date night spot.
The food, consistentlyy excellent, gets more and more imaginative with time.
Great Sunday evening “happy hour” dinner. Everyone at Left Bank made it an exceptional evening.
Had brunch, food was great, service was warm, we had our child and they were extremely accommodating, it wasn’t too crowded, great location. Very nice time.
A great W. Village place to eat, drink, talk and hangout. Music playlist tends to jazz, and jazz like, played at background level and never intrusive.
Excellent as usual. Menu always something different
Came during the snow storm and everything was amazing! Service, food, & staff A+
Good dinner, pleasant service, nice menu, good wine list. Would go back
Muy buena atención, camarero excelente, sabía vender muy bien todos los platos. La comida es espectacular, la mejor pasta que comi. No es barato pero lo vale!
Everything from the decor to the lighting to the music to the food to the service was fantastic. The waitress could not have been classier - both warm and knowledgeable (even about the wines). Dishes we had included parsnip and apple soup, oysters, the chicken, and the brook trout. (I had the trout, which was extremely juicy and flavorful). And the portions were huge and the prices quite reasonable. In sum, I think this is my new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food and cocktail selection. Good service, very solid, we have been there several times and will continue to go back.
The food was great but very small portions. We were also initially placed in a very uncomfortable table where my sit was positioned in a busy hallway. Our server was very nice and allowed us to move.
Absolutely a wonderful evening. Our server was top drawer and the food was delicious. What a wonderful Sunday evening dinner.
Everything was good, the food and especially the atmosphere.
Except to noise level!!
Delicious! Great spot for a date or a nice dinner. Slightly too expensive for a casual night out but definitely recommend.
It's always a pleasure to visit NYC and dine at Left Bank. This cozy neighborhood restaurant is friendly with many neighbors stopping in for dinner and a drink. It's reminiscent of New York in another time. However, the food is very serious and shows loving preparation by everyone in the kitchen. I started with the calamari appetizer and the newly added Coq Au Vin. The sauces were exceptional on both and showcased the high quality of ingredients as well as the skill in the kitchen. Pastas are housemade and served perfectly al dente with a variety of sauces. I had the Orecchiette, with sausage and kale ragu. The sauce was slow cooked overnight and the flavors were delicious, creamy and satisfying. The maple syrup pie with creme fraiche is a signature dessert and not to be missed. The wine list is well curated and pairs nicely with the cuisine. Service is always warm and friendly. Left Bank feels like home, and is a gem in the West Village. I love this restaurant and look forward to my next dining experience.
Overall service ,wine reco, vibe and food were great. I have to say the caccio e Pepe was really salty.
Food was really bad. Especially for the price. I wouldn’t feed my dog the steak I️ ordered. Given, We also got a few cocktails and appetizers, but everyone else at the table got pasta as a main course and for $400 I’d say we certainly could have done a lot better.
Service and food not what it once was, new owners? From start to finish service was terribly slow. Chicken was slim pickings with the cassoulet entree. So much skin and no meat. I complained and the waiter did nothing. We will not be back!
Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. I got the cacio e pepe which was incredible, and our waiter even let us speed-order to get the happy hour specials which was very nice. Overall a great experience and would recommend.
We read about the Left Bank's happy hour special so we decided to give it a try. The happy hour includes an appetizer and pasta entree for $25. Of course it doesn't include the entire menu and upon seeing the rest of the menu we got excited and decided to order off the full menu. We started with steak tartar and grilled calamari. The steak tar tar was kind of a deconstructed version as it was more untreated with all the accoutrements on the side. It was a fun treatment of this appetizer but not the best version we've had. The calamari was in a stewed red sauce with green and black olives and was really delicious. The calamari even had a nice charred hue to it.
For our entrees we got the potato gnocchi with butternut squash in an incredible butter sauce. It was decadent and scrumptious. A perfect fall dish. We also got the grilled brook trout with salsa verde and roasted potatoes. First of all the potatoes were crispy yet tender inside. Perfectly prepared! The fish was also perfectly prepared and the salsa verde was an ideal accompaniment although we would have preferred a little more of that.
We finished our meal with the dark chocolate mousse. I have to say that I LOVE chocolate mousse and it has been awhile since I have had a version that I thought was worth writing about. This was one of them. Delicious finish to a wonderful night. And not to be forgotten was the great wait staff that was spot on.
Eric (Bartender/Mixologist) and Jasmine (waiter/host) - were amazing to us. Helped secure the perfect table for our date! Thank you for defining hospitality. It shows.
The food is amazing. The service is always friendly and unpretentious and the wine selection is great.
Wanted a quiet place to meet an old friend to catch up. Sat in the larger of the two rooms. Eli, our waiter was terrific. Had the chicken which was so juicy and the skin super thin and crispy. Delicious. Shaved brussel sprout salad with pignoli nuts was not what I was expecting but also very good. Reasonably priced and very cozy. Quiet enough to talk easily.
