This is a favorite local go to.
Great food but a little overpriced.
We had to go back a second time during the week. Every dish was marvellous and great service - thank you Natalie. Great organic wine options. Great job!
I love this place -- which is why I keep going back.
The only improvement? Some noise dampening so it would be quieter
Loved, loved, loved Left Bank!!!!!!!!! Will definitely go back to Left Bank soon!
This is a good neighborhood place. The first time I went there because I don't live close by. The menu is limited so look at it before making a reservation. Mostly pastas and a few other entrees. Nice appetizers and friendly staff.
Amazing. The food was outstanding. The waitstaff was friendly. The wine and cocktails were all perfect pairings for the meals.
Great neighborhood spot with good food! Good specials too!
Left Bank is always a welcoming place. As soon as you walk in the staff is warm and accommodating . It is my to to place for incredible home made pasta, and the best chicken in town. The menu changes, but there are some staples that may have new iterations. I , for one, and crazy about the chopped liver bruschetta , with garlic butter and walnuts. Right now there is leek , bean and parmesan rind soup, that I can't wait to go back for. The brioche perdu, with creme fraiche and gelato is definitly something I look forward to having again !
We came here for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience! From the service to the food to the music, everything was perfect. The suggested wines paired perfectly with our dishes and the cocktails were well-balanced and inventive. The burger was outstanding and the seasonal pastas were delicious. Our waiter really took care of us and made our night special! Definitely recommend!
Overall this had highly disappointing service with an inattentive waiter who needed to be prompted multiple times to get his attention. For drinks taking our orders etc. other diners got there dinners before us even though they arrived later. This is not acceptable and too bad since the food itself was good.
Our waiter Peter was awesome - very attentive and funny!
The restaurant was good & in a cute neighborhood. Definitely more of a place to go for a great happy hour. The food wasn’t the best but was good quality. I got the gnocchi and my boyfriend got the salmon and honestly we were expecting a lot more for plates that were $24 & $26.
We’ll be back for happy hour. But a little pricy for a date night dinner.
Food was delicious, however, the A/C wasn't working very well. My group was sweating through our entire meal. Might be better to go when there isn't a heat wave in NYC.
The total package--food, service, and attention to detail. The chicken dish is amazing and the asparagus starter is great. For dessert, the maple syrup pie is recommended and not at all sweet in the bad way you might expect. Wine list is very good. Service was attentive and professional.
Nice place, cool vibe but no A/c - only fans on the hottest day of the year
Charming with great service. However there was no AC on a very hot summer day.
We had a great brunch here. The cheese omelette may be the best I have ever had. And the berry Dutch pancake is awesome.
Roast chicken was amazing!
Great food & service ! Dining room gets a little loud when it's full, but the food makes up for the noise !
Restaurant was unbelievably noisy nearly impossible to hear my friend from across the table food was fine but our server, nice fellow, was overwhelmed, will never return.
The salmon belly, watermelon & caper appetizer is so incredibly surprisingly delicious and satisfying. I made my reluctant husband try it , and he was hooked right away also , even though he can’t stop ordering the fagiole ! The chicken iteration is always a favorite of mine. Sometimes it changes , but is always delicious! The crowd always seems to have a good vibe. Great place to meet up with friends , or a date night !
Solid spot. So glad I tried it. Steak tartare was nice. The Brussels sprouts salad was a little salty. Gnocchi and Ragu v tasty. Everything on the menu sounded great.
The waiter was nice but a bit clumsy. He spilled water all over the table and then later coffee.
Also, I ordered an orange juice and received a mimosa, which wouldn’t have been an issue had I not been 7 months pregnant. When I told the waiter that there was champagne in my orange juice, he refused to believe me saying that the juice is just more acidic since it’s freshly squeezed in house... even though the juice was clearly bubbly/fizzy from the champagne. And even though, I’m familiar with what freshly squeezed orange juice tastes like (with AND without champagne, I still had my friends try it to confirm that I wasn’t crazy. It wasn’t until after they agreed that there was champagne in my orange juice, he finally brought me a different glass of orange juice begrudgingly, still insisting there was no alcohol in the original glass.
I understand that mistakes happen it was just odd that he was so insistent that there was no champagne in the orange juice I ordered (even though it was very clear there was).
Food was reminiscent of a 1990s catering hall in Long Island. No air conditioning on the most humid night in nyc was a nice touch.
We wanted to go to a restaurant with Slow Food NYC's Snail of Approval for my husband's birthday. We were lucky enough to book during restaurant week, so we each got a three-course meal. The liver crostini was generous and so tasty, and the rest of the portions were also great and delicious, down to my chocolate mousse and his maple syrup cake. I'm anxious to go back and try some more of their well-planned and well-executed menu items.
This is the third time I've been to Left Bank. I was glad to use a promotion for 30% off. Otherwise, I would have been greatly disappointed as it's somewhat pricey.
The food is very good. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. The beets, heirloom tomatoes all cooked to perfection.
The service was sub par. We had to keep asking for our wine. We finally got frustrated and just asked the waiter to leave our bottle of wine on the table. But, moreso, the problem is that this restaurant does not have effective A/C. I thought it was just last summer and decided to try again. Nope. It was quite uncomfortable and the noise level was really loud as well. I won't go back.
The food was all excellent. The wine was very good. The service was terrific. However, the noise was DEAFENING! Not just us but all around us people were leaning in and trying to hear what their table mates were saying.\, and the servers had to lean way in to be heard and to hear. If it wasn't so late we would have left but considering the food and the staff we were glad we stayed. PLEASE do something about the noise level.
Great happy hour specials (including drink + food!). A little pricey if not between 5-7pm, but perfectly cooked pasta. Though it was cooked just right (al dente) I've had better/tastier pasta. We went for the location. Can't beat West Village!
Food was good, but nothing special. Very heavy-handed with the salt, which detracted from other flavors. Noise level in the dining room was way too loud -- there are some dampening panels on the ceiling, but far too few.
Loved our pre theatre meal especially the perfectly cooked steak and homemade pasta. Everything was fresh and the service was outstanding. Looking forward to returning soon.
Food very good but the noise level made us not linger. 3 tables of drunken women (9-3-2) who were shouting and laughing.
I love visiting Left Bank whenever I'm in NYC. Although it humbly bills itself as a "neighborhood restaurant," the food here is serious business. From the locally sourced meat to the homemade pastas and sauces, everything is delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and service is always attentive. Left Bank is a gem in the West Village. I can't wait to return for my next dinner!
Delicious food and great service. The happy hour is a terrific deal. Cannot wait to go back.
Ordinarily, we love the Left Bank and go there relatively often. But, the air conditioning was not working, or not working well. The result was a sweltering hot experience. If dining there in the summer, one should call to check if the AC is working.
Food and service are always good.
Very accommodating to our party as some of us arrived early. All the staff seemed happy and friendly from the hostess to the assistant servers. Great atmosphere and cozy design. Excellent food. Burger and risotto were the favorites of the table. Definitely recommend!
We had a late reservation on a Friday night with a large group. Even though there were only a handful of other customers in the restaurant the service was painfully slow. Our server was slow to take our orders for drinks, appetizers, and entrees; forgot to get orders from members of our group; and extremely slow to deliver everything. It was like pulling teeth to ask him to order another drink.
That said, the food was delicious and the ambiance was great. I would recommend this restaurant if you can somehow guarantee you have a better server.
Exceptional service and delicious food. Beets appetizer was fantastic and Atlantic salmon was perfectly cooked accompanied with fresh vegetables and savory sauce
Really great experience from start to finish. Food, service, and all the rest. Sophisticated, a little rustic, good balance. The maple syrup desert was amazing, too--not too sweet and rather unusual in a good way.
Pleasant enough but very mediocre burger served with unbeatable bread. Martini small.
