Leeds Public House
First visit to Leeds and I wasn't disappointed. Saturday lunch (a brunch menu) was very good. I had the burger and asked for several accommodations to it which were easily granted. The burger was delicious and cooked to my specifications. Saw several other menu items being delivered and all looked wonderful! The decor is very pleasing and comfortable. There is an outdoor seating area (closed because it was winter) that will certainly be a draw during the warmer weather! Will definitely come back when I'm in the area!
Great atmosphere, service, and food. Would have given it 5 but the enclosed outdoor section was letting in a bit too much cold air for a NWI winter night.
Enjoyed the brunch. Was a good tune away with my husband. Chicken and waffles a hit.
Salmon is great! Always get the cheese board!
Food is good, a little overpriced. Wine per glass portions varied from first to second, a bit pricey. Food portions are iffy, not top shelf in quality but still very good. $100 dinner for two, not bad, but not great for what you get.
Great food and great service, absolutely loved the Moroccan themed meal on Valentine's day. Will be visiting again for sure.
Fantastic food and service!
The food wasnt bad but it came out cold and my fish was overcooked. We had 6 people in our party and 2 of which didn't get their food until we all had finished. They did comp us and took our drinks off our bill
We enjoyed our first experience at Leeds Restaurant.
Great place for brunch
Gabby, our server was outstanding as was the food.
We went here for our Christmas Dinner. The food was wonderful, our server was excellent, and we had a wonderful time!!
Great food and great atmosphere. A welcome addition to the Michigan City dining scene. Previous reviews are spot on. The ONLY issue is a slow kitchen when they get busy. Feel bad for wait staff as they are busy and attentive but the food can take a LONG time when they get busy. They need to either increase efficiency in kitchen at busy times, take out seating, or just don’t go when they are busy.
We dined here on the New Years Eve. The food came out delicious, the size of the portion just right. The server Taylor was one of the best we met last year overall. Thank You!!!
Went on New Year's Eve. Table for 2 was reserved through app. Arrived and was presented with 2 tiny tables in strange spots. One table was a few inches removed from a large group. Another table appeared to be added in the walkway. Both were relatively close to the door/host stand. Strange locations. Please don't add tables to accomodate if they are inconvenient uncomfortable spots. We would have reserved another time or somewhere else. Without us reacting to the strange table setup, the hostess who I am sure knew the tiny tables were in weird spots indicated that the bar area was first come/first serve for seating and may be better. The bar area is a tented outdoor area with heaters. The tables were normal size and in normal spots so we chose an open table. The issue is that the "server" was also working as the bartender. This worked well at first with regular attention at the table. After the first 30 minutes, a large group arrived at the bar. The bartender/server then stopped coming to the tables unless he found time. I kept walking to the bar to ask for drink, dessert menu, check, credit card slip. If there won't be a server, let someone know. Also, please don't book tables on OpenTable unless you have a normal table available. We or whoever booked later could have gone elsewhere or booked another time.
The food was mediocre. The chocolate cake was very dry. The drink menu is excellent.
The designer for the space should be commended. It is a beautiful space. As it is open longer and the kitchen and service improve, I hope it turns out to be a great spot. For now, I can't recommend.
To the owners, please be sure that your host staff explains seating better and please do not set tables in strange spots to accommodate guests who think they have a confirmed reservation with no issues.
The server was exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. Great food.
Fantastic food & service! Cool bars and good atmosphere! E ha pork chop and the steak frites , excellent!!
Had a wonderful date night here! Highly recommend the meatloaf and vanilla/lemon cheesecake.
Nice spot. Good to provide options for locals and visitors.
Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. We also had a great server.
Leeds is a work in progress. I would give it a try and will try again in the hope that they work on their recipes (smoked everything is not cool.) waiter was bored and brought requested “HOT” soup luke warm. Butter or olive oil with bread would be expected. Tiny Spanish olives in a Grey Goose martini are not remotely adequate.
Please, we need a great place!
Loved the outside bar area. Good martini. Restaurant very loud. Plate appearance rather plain. Pricey for amount of food. Will definitely try it again when we could go to the outside bar.
Everything! There 3 times in one week. Brought friends. Will look forward to better weather so we can get back out on that patio!!
Leeds continues to show promise. Our meals were good but not yet in the range of excellent. The mains were good, especially the duck, but the portion on the short rib though tasty was reduced by a third from previous visits. The sides were a bit overcooked. Service was very good.
Turned out to be a very good place to eat. Food was excellent, service was great. Wish they had more varieties of wine by the glass. All and all a great place.
Duck entree was excellent. The outside deck area by bar was perfect with good energy.
Great addition the the newly emerging downtown Michigan City. The ambience beats any in the area, especially the outside dining/bar area.
We had a phenomenal girls night out at Leeds. We sat on the beautiful patio and the food and service was perfect! Best new restaurant/bar/new hangout in Northwest Indiana!
Great to be aeated outside on the patio-a lovely night plus it is crazy noisy inside. Hope the owners can figure out a way to correct that when outside isn’t an option in cold weather. Server was a bit overwhelmed-a holiday weekend must have been busy.
Very good food with service to match. Outside dining is wonderful. Inside is loud. I would like to see more Indiana beers.
Staff was attentive and friendly, but there was a mixup as to who would be our server, so it took a while to be waited on. Food was generally quite good. We will have to try Leeds again.
Good food, beverages and service at reasonable prices.
We made a reservation for 4 but ended up with 5. They graciously accomodated us. Michelle, our server, was outstanding. Food and drink was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
New with a very nice outdoor patio space. A varied menu with very fresh ingredients, the crab salad is excellent. Service uneven to very slow. Probably will improve with time. A great addition to downtown Michigan City.
Great server! Very attentive! Food and drinks were great!
I have been here twice.
The first time we had great service and the food was delicious. Then we went back on Saturday night. It took 1.75 hours for our food to come. We had a great waiter, but the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. The food was once again delicious. The noise level on Saturday night was really high, so while we waited that 1.75 hours, we sat at our table and shouted at each other, that gets old fast
Perfect evening. Sat outside.
Muscles/frites appetizer was spot on. Everyone’s meals were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable! Will be going back for sure.
Great food, great outdoor seating. Fantastic chef and server. Creative menu. Can get pretty noisy.
Would go there for the atmosphere but not for the food. Food very good, but not great and menu needs more selections. A few hits with food as well as misses and some issue with food temperature. Tomato soup, smoked chicken sandwich, coleslaw and fries a miss wings, duck, and chicken and fish good. Serving staff very friendly but need more coordination with the kitchen. Staff were bringing my soup out of kitchen before waitress even finished orders at our table. Felt very rushed with food service out of kitchen. A few hits with food as well as misses and some issue with food temperature. Great job with patio remodel. Inside seemed noisy.
Beautiful patio and great crowd on a Friday night. Mussels were ok - a bit fishy; smoked shrimp a nice change from regular shrimp; duck and burger were good; short ribs very disappointing- meat was very dry; not enough “sauce”; needed salt/flavor; fries were ok but all short “pieces” which was odd; good wine selection - great cocktails. Server was so sweet but need some training. Didn’t seem to have enough knowledge of menu; didn’t know what certain liquors were and couldn’t help with white wine decision (for ex. hadn’t tasted sauvignon blanc).
