About Lee Chen Asian Bistro- King West
We are a cozy restaurant located at the heart of Toronto. Our goal is not only to provide the best food, but also warmth and welcoming for those who visits us. The interesting part of Asian cuisine is the art of sharing. Yes, just like tapas, but Asian food. At LeeChen, you have a variety of food from appetizers to desserts, and drinks from freshly blended honey lemonade to selected wine. We provide the best for those who come to dine not just for food, but also for the experience.

Lee Chen Asian Bistro- King West Ratings and Reviews
The food was terrific and the service was great except I booked on open table - arrived on time - let the service person know I booked on open table and the following day I get an email that I did not show up and was further advised that 4 no shows and your account is suspended. I appreciate that some may not be courteous enough to let a restaurant know they changed their mind and not show up - but the reality here is that we did show up and on time. There had to be a better way to confirm guest arrive as noted in their reservation. But for this I would have rated the service higher.
Most dishes were very tasty and each dish was distinctively flavoured. The passion fruit custard dessert was exquisite and an excellent way to finish a large meal. The wait staff was responsive and the physical space, large and airy, was very comfortable. Background music was not distracting.
Love Lee Chen Asian bistro mainly for the xiao long bao soup-filled pork dumplings (which are amazing), the chive/onion pancake and the honey beer! Everything we’ve tried has been great but those are the standouts for me. Perfect for a couple to try a few plates to share, or even better with a group. Attentive friendly service too...Highly recommend.
This was our second time. It is very close to the theatre. Nice to have options in that area of Toronto. The food is excellent but the service is awful. Nothing we ordered came together. My husband was served his food. Mine came 20 minutes later. We asked for water and napkins at least 3 times. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Terrible slow service. We didn't get our second round of drinks prior to leaving to catch our show at the theatre despite ordering them with plenty of time to spare.
We had to work very hard to even get the attention of a server
They wouldn't let me use my Open Table voucher and were very rude about it.
I won't return.
My fiance and I were craving dim sum this weekend. I did some research for top spots downtown and found this place. I have walked by many times but I didn't know what it was all about. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. I loved the atmosphere in here, dimmed lighting and great decor. We ordered the spring rolls, green onion pancake, the veggie steamed dumplings, the soup filled dumplings, and the shanghai noodles. Everything was delicious and came out so hot! The price was affordable as well. We left very satisfied. We will be returning in the near future :)
The food and presentation was great, but I started to notice they forgot our order after waiting for 20 mins. One of the waitresses saw our empty table and started running around and checking the computer. I heard her asking in mandarin where our order sheet went, so that was when i asked why it took so long. They didnt admit they forgot about us, but ended up giving us some free spring rolls and said they were complimentary.
good venue and location (located at Toronto's entertainment district).
great ambience and facility, very friendly and accommodating staff.
authentic Taiwanese cuisine, however the portion size is small - usually need to order 2 X to accommodate usual serving expectation
We arrived for our 8:45 pm reservation approximately 10 minutes late and initially were told we were not showing on their hand written list until I mentioned it was an Open Table reservation.
The host stated that the restaurant closed at 10:00 pm...'were we confident we could order and be done by them?' We stated we felt we could and were shown to a table. The table had a printed menu similar to what you would expect at a sushi restaurant as well as a laminated picture menu. We had to ask for water and waited 10-15 minutes before our printed menu we filled out was picked up and reviewed by a waitress.
I ordered shrimp green curry and my partner ordered sweet and sour chicken; rice was not included and needed to be ordered separately. My shrimp green curry was good but lacked flavor and tasted like they used some strange starch to thicken the sauce; my partner's sweet and sour was tasteless and a bizarre red color definitely not found in natural colorings.
They sat 6-7 parties after us and we heard them give the same speech about closing to each party. They also came around at 9:30 and said the kitchen was closing so if you wanted anything else you needed to order now.
Average at best and with the focus on closing a strange experience
This was the first visit to this location...I usually visit the Yorkville resto. This location is a huge space...very comfortable. Was a quiet night so difficult to tell what the noise level would be if it was busy. The food is tasty and well-prepared even though prices are a little steeper than Chinatown. The evening would have been nicer if our server wasn't asking every 5 minutes if we were ready to order. I understand if it's a busy night and they need to move tables however it wasn't even half full this evening and that just added some unnecessary pressure to a relaxing night. Also when booking the reservation I had requested a booth or banquette seating and that didn't happen even though those were available....I had to ask make another request.
Very good restaurant in downtown Toronto. I have been to Bloor location long time ago. I like the King West location better. Most of food we ordered taste good and authentic, couple dishes I believe can make it better.
We love Xiao Long Bao, Pork Belly Bao and spicy beef tendon.
Braised Bamboo shoots and braised pork belly over rice have room to improve the flavor.
This was an office lunch and all of us were there for the first time (a total of 12). The food was fantastic and each and everyone person enjoyed their lunch. The only negative was that the service was a little slow and the some people had to wait much longer for the meals and they did not come out together rather in phases. There was a little confusion on this but overall great experience.
I saw quite some reviews complaining about slow services, and was quite concerned. My experiences were just the opposite. The dishes came promptly, and the waitresses were polite and efficient. The dishes were not the "wow" kind, but were delicious and well presented. Would definitely go back again.
