                                                                          An elegant dining experience in Salem. #1 positive was our outstanding server and her assistants. They kept their eyes on us discretely and knew exactly when to approach. Very helpful and charming. Definitely deserved a 25% tip based on entire cost. Food was absolutely terrific, with one exception. Two of us shared popovers, arugula salad, and half chicken. Truly delicious and plenty of food for a hungry couple. We also ordered the duck onion soup. Fortunately, we were too full to need it. It was greasy. It didn't have any duck confit. Tasted foul, to be honest. That one "miss" didn't spoil a terrific evening. Great decor snd atmosphere. Pretty noisy, but not unbearable. We'll be back. Try the restaurant - you'll love it.

                                                                          Set in a former bank (circa 1818), the vibe of Ledger is excellent, with a combination of exposed brick, old timber, and ornate ceilings. Dominated by a large central bar, it was full of energy on a Saturday night and did not disappoint. The popovers are a must-have, the salmon was perfect, and the steak frites was even better than expected. Loved it.

                                                                          Overall a delicious meal. I had the steak frittes and it was amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the side salad accompaniment was very tasty. My husband had the duck. A couple of things about this dish. The amount of duck, (or perhaps the way it is presented), was miniscule for the $42 price tag. It was also very difficult to cut, even with a steak knife. It did taste yummy, just not enough of it. The brussel sprouts appetizer was also delicious, and the popovers should definitely NOT be missed. Overall, it was a good experience. Limited entrees offered. The night we were there, of the 5-6 menu entrees plus 2 specials, included a burger and two steak options. I would definitely eat here again if the menu changed.

                                                                          We loved it and will be back...not sure how I feel about the 3.5% surcharge for the "back of the house staff". Say what you want, but with that fee added on, I did tip a bit less than I normally would. 20% tip + 3.5% service fee + tax.....when does it end? But again, we will go back.

                                                                          Went there last night for our 45 Anniversary . Started with the chicken wings . Very tough to eat . My wife got the Specisl Rib Eye with potato and broccoli rabe . The Rib Eye was all fat the potato was rock hard . The kicker is they charged 75 dollars for a Rib Eye . We go often on Sunday for brunch a lot . We both felt very dissapointed and ripped off . We will not be going back . EVER !!

                                                                          We had brunch at Ledger and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the service was great and the food was amazing. We had the daily donuts, the hash, the dutch baby and chicken and waffles. It was all amazing, especially the chicken and waffles. We’ll definitely be coming back!
