   A friend I had not seen in 2 years asked where I wanted to go for dinner om the North Shore, Ledger of course!! As always the food was superb, the service excellent and the atmosphere welcoming and friendly. As my late, great father would say, "truly a top shelf place"! Ledger never disappoints.

   Our server was nice, location good, food good but was not a fan they added an olive oil in my hot soup made is oily, not good. Popover was nice, drinks good, happy we split the pasta portion it was good size

   It was very loud, our waitress even asked us to speak up. We asked to be moved outside but were told that tables weren’t available for 1.5hrs. I’m not sure that this was true as we saw multiple tables that remained empty throughout our stay. The Bloody Mary was not great (cannot put my finger on what was missing) considering how expensive it was. The mysterious mimosa (I believe it was passion fruit pineapple) was fantastic! The bananas foster waffle was just meh. It was a little cold and needed more syrup. The chicken and waffles was good - chicken was crunchy and fluffy. Overall, I’m disappointed to say that brunch was just okay. This was really surprising because dinner at the Ledger is always an amazing experience.

We do not seat these areas to ensure the best possible service for all of our guests. We do make most items in house, so during times of high volume wait times may be a bit longer than other restaurants. We of course try to minimize this as much as possible.     Very excellent meal and fun ambience. The wait staff was on top of everything. We took my 96 year old mom and they went out of their way to be helpful. I don’t have to say it, but those popovers were a treat and delicious. We had tasty oysters, an excellent salad and the mains were great. Highly recommend this restaurant and glad we were able to eat there.

    Our server, Martina, was amazing! She was so attentive and kind. Our entrees were so goodX the chicken was cooked perfectly. We also went for an anniversary and they gave us the sweetest dessert in celebration! Cannot recommend this place enough! The food, drinks and atmosphere were awesome.     Great spot for outdoor dining in downtown Salem. They have tables in the sub and the shade. We only had appetizers and drinks but everything was super yummy. The waitress was very nice too!

    Ledger remains a favorite of ours. We ate here for an early Mothers Day celebration. The food was well prepared, tasty and well presented. We had both cocktails and wine at the table- cocktails were balanced and delicious and the wine selection by the glass interesting and varied. The server went over to the top on her hospitality which we really appreciated. We will be back.

    Everything was perfect, from drinks at the bar, to food and dessert! Yes, the menu is limited, but you don’t have to have 3 pages of entrees if you have fantastic dishes! Tuna tartar was great, super fresh, delicious flavors. We then had the popovers of course, AMAZING! We had the chicken and salmon for main courses, both excellent. Chicken was moist and salmon was nice and crispy on the outside! And we had a scoop of bourbon ice cream for dessert, yummy! Our waitress Martina and any other member of their staff we interacted with were all fantastic!

    Apps were good, but my main dish - duck came with horrible over salted salad ( I love salt!), but even I couldn’t eat it. They exchanged the salad for me, but 2nd time around it came dry, no dressing at all… They probably over salted the dressing.

    Absolutely delicious! Perfectly prepared. Not a big menu. Could use another 2-3 choices. A little pricey but quality, service and ambience are worth it! Great location in a beautifully renovated bank building.

    We came here with a few family members for a pre-wedding dinner. This was the best dining experience I have ever had and I’m eternally grateful to everyone for making it so memorable. The food was beyond excellent, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, the ambiance was absolutely lovely. My sister ordered a cake for later and they were so accommodating and completely knocked it out of the park - it was delicious and beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding dinner and I look forward to visiting again next time I’m in Salem. Thank you so much to everyone at Ledger for giving us such a beautiful evening!     We were up in MA for a girls weekend and went to Ledger for brunch the day we were leaving. The food was so good and the service was excellent. We wanted to stay longer to try their dinner as well…. Next time. I highly recommend making this a must on your agenda. I cannot wait to come back.

    The server and sommelier were excellent, as were the oysters, popovers and both the smoked duck and the pasta. We are never disappointed though it is an increasingly noisy setting that makes even conversation between two of us difficult.

    Food was excellent, service was spotty; sometimes fast and others slow, martini’s were skimpy for $17 and not that tasty.

    We chose Ledger as a birthday celebration and glad we did. The service was amazing; Martina (spelling?) was top notch. She timed the service perfectly, super friendly, appeared to enjoy her job and did not rush us. I have to say the entire staff was friendly, smiling, all on the same page. I think the prices are a bit expensive, but I think this is how it is at most places now. It does not bother me for a special occasion and when the food and service this good. I recommend and would go back.

    We had a terrific dinner here with a party of five, and everyone was happy with the meal. One of them were very happy with an appetizer as an entree instead of the larger Entree offerings. The lamb shank special was outstanding, as was the duck entree. Deserts were excellent, especially the pecan pie. My only complaint about the food was that the popovers seemed a bit overcooked to me. They were a chocolate color instead of the golden popovers I've always loved. I think that was disproportionately disappointing because I was so excited to see popovers on the menu, and I almost downgraded a start because of it. But really, that's a pretty minor criticism on a meal that was otherwise flawless.

    I was there for my birthday dinner and I was feeling awkward because I was there by myself. However the staff made me so comfortable and we were really welcoming! The food was probably the best I’ve had in my life! Highly recommended!
