The only plus is location. Menu is poor. Too pricey.

It was a great evening with the a la carte menu that was the perfect proportions. Nice meal, cocktails and desserts. Great service from George. Perfect evening and meal before the theater. We will definitely be back.

Since they changed the restaurant inside, the food is more expensive ( you have to order all side dishes extra -up to $13 or more ) to go with your meal !! My duck breast was $34 . It came without any sauce ( I had to order the sauce extra for another fee !!! ) There was only a small handful of greens . They didn’t cut the breast. Horrible presentation! Then I had to order potatoes for an extra $10, which was brought on the side . They didn’t have the bottle of wine we ordered ( out or stock ) the waiter was too busy and not attentive. We’ve been there at least 10 times now over the years, and this was the worst experience yet. Won’t go back again ! 🙁

This restaurant is quietly tucked away in the concert hall. The location is perfect. Following dinner, diners can walk leisurely to their performance's seats. The popovers with honey butter are warm, fresh, and flavorful. They are splendid. The restaurant's new décor is contemporary with an open feeling. The floor to ceiling windows look onto a beautiful open plaza filled with music and people sitting on outdoor chairs.

We had a very good dining experience at Leatherby's Cafe Rouge. We were not sure what to expect when we walked in, but all expectations were surpassed once we were seating with a great table, excellent drinks, and great food. The pop over bread / muffins were unbelievable. Duck breast was very good and the steak was cooked perfectly.

Namaste'🙏
As defined by Mahatma Gandhi: In India when people 👳 meet and part they often say,
Namaste' which means:
"I honor the place within you where the entire Universe resides;
I honor the place within you of love, of light, of truth, of peace;
I honor the place within you,
where, when you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us."

Waited 15 minutes to be seated
Service too many tables, took drink request, slow to bring
Asked 3x for popovers as order slow
Asked for more of them & was told would have in25 minutes
Not! At 7:30 they said did not have more popovers 45 minutes after asked for them, we had 8pm curtain & could have had them so someone in kitchen decided to stop making them too soon
Duck breast was good though too salty

I have been a loyal customer of Leatherby's since its inception. I have never experience such a disaster of a meal like last Saturday night. Must have been a new server - I did not recognize him. He was disorganized, waaaayyyyy too friendly and chatty with promises about our upcoming meal (without any follow-thru) and way too quick to walk away. Glasses of wine took a long time to arrive - 15 minutes + from order. Popover (bread) was good. Appetizer - my guest had the Hawaiian raw fish and I had the bisque soup. Her's was tasteless and mine tasted burnt and was cool in temp. Server promised how good the soup will be with another bread (popover) but it did not arrive. When our appetizer plates were removed, we asked the person for another round of the Popover and butter. Never came. Then our entree's arrived. Order again a round of bread - never arrived. I order the pork medallion - arrived very cold. My guest ordered the Salmon - arrived warm and very, very rare. I took two bites of my pork and gave up. My guest ate half of the salmon and gave up. At first the manager on duty came over and was very condensending. Later he came by and offered to remove all of the food. A very nice gesture indeed, but in no way made up for the kitchen who was waaaayyyy off that night and the server who was way too new and inexperienced to have been on this restaurants floor. I usually do not complain - write it off as just a mistake. But this was a really bad experience at one of my fav restaurants so I had to say something. The usual manager was not on duty this night according to our server. The gentleman who took care of the food portion of our bill was filling in for the manager this night. This is the 2nd meal I have had since the menu change to a more a la carte menu. NOT IMPRESSED !!!!!!!!!!

Service was slow. Cesar salad was mediocre. The lettuce was not cold and the plate was not chilled.
We received the wrong meal from the server, who insisted it was correct. The waiter straightened it out but we had to wait an extra 5-7 minutes for our meal.
The New York steak was cooked to perfection but contained too much gristle. The Brussels sprouts where very good.

This is terrific for pre-concert, and has very good food. The service was also very good, knowledgeable, attentive, efficient. It was truly 4-star, bordering on 5-star. The salmon was excellent, the small loin steak was nearly the best i've had in a long career of fine dining. Beats most near-by restaurants for both food and convenience when attending concerts.

Food was very good. The Wine list is a bit high. The wedge salad was not a wedge and was small. The main course was good and large. Desert was not great. How hard is it to have a good desert?

This new Leatherby's is wonderful! A vast improvement from its predecessor. The new ambiance, menu...all lovely. The Diver Scallops were the best I have ever had. Also we ordered the Filet which was cooked to absolute perfection. A perfect Pre /Post Theatre Go TO!!!!

The remodeled Leatherby's is very nice: beautiful and relaxing. The food is fantastic, if a bit pricey. In our party of 5, we had a combination of meats, fish, and sides, and all were top of the line. Our only disappointment was the service. Constantly-empty water glasses. Waiter running away before we can make a request. Waiting 15 minutes to order another glass of wine. Having to track someone down to get the bill. Given the excellent food, it's sad to see the staff frantically running around, unable to sufficiently attend to guests. They need to make some adjustments.

We are season ticket holders and have dined at Leatherby's for years prior to every show. After the recent remodel the prices have doubled and the food is overpriced for the quality. Now everything is a la carte which in the food service industry means that you are getting ripped off. The side dishes are priced for 2 to 3 people so if you don't want to share a side dish then someone is stuck paying for an overpriced side dish. Sorry, but you can't take it to go because you are going to the theatre afterwards. Won't eat there again. Service is great, but the food prices are crazy and the food isn't that great.

Fun experience! Delicious food! Perfect dinner before the Theater or Symphony. Leatherby's is relatively new so I was hesitant to book, but we had Symphony tickets for midweek so this was the most convenient choice. We were not disappointed. We will be back!

This is our first visit after LCR's recent remodel. While the food is still spectacular, we were seriously underwhelmed by the service. LCR does a single dinner seating each night to coincide with performances at the Segerstrom Center (where they are located). We don't know if our waiter was overwhelmed or just distracted, but service was slow and not up to their usual standard (had to practically tackle the waiter for a drink refill, waiter did not let us know about that night's special, had to shout the last request on our dinner order as he turned away, etc.).

The food is great (even though the menu is now 100% ala carte) and we will be back to LCR, but we hope to have a better overall dining experience next time.

Disappointing. We’d been here many times, this was first (and last) time since the makeover. Trying to present themselves as a steak house, but falls well short of virtually all others. Ordered my steak rare plus. But waiter advised that we couldn’t do that, had to be rare or medium rare. Steak came out medium. How can you call yourself a high end steak house and not let customers order how they want it cooked. And then to significantly over cook made it even worse.
Waiter was okay, but kitchen timing was horrible. We weren’t half done with our drinks when salad came. Half thru salad when entree came. They promised poppers that never came. We were given lame excuse that others ordered double and triple servings. Then when my wife asked again while eating our entree, he announced that they deep sixed them, and there would be no more that night. And that was before 7pm.
Got a bill for $194 for 2 for bad food and bad service. Grrrr!!

Probably will not return as our order was screwed up both on the salad (brought beets instead of Cesaer)and the entree (brought scallops instead of salmon)! Also, we didn't order dessert because service was so slow from having to correct the entree that we didn't want to be late for the performance in Segerstrom Hall.
