Service and food always great.
Our server Samantha was perfect. Three of us went to dinner on a Wed before a show. It was a very relaxing environment and the noise level and view were perfect. The drinks were very good and Samantha suggested the swordfish and we all loved it. The fresh baked popovers were a treat too.
We will be back for sure.
A perfect spot for dining after or before theatre performances. Love the ambiance and the delicious food is served graciously. Love it!
The gnocchi was flaccid and tasteless. None of the desserts was appealing. I allowed 2 hours before theater and the service was slow enough that we didn’t get there with time to spare.
Food and hospitality were very good. The room is large, cold and, in a word, 'dull'. There are restaurants with more pizazz close by. Don't understand the Cafe Rouge part of the restaurant's name - or the Leatherby's for that matter. Neither fail to deliver on the anticipated experience.
Great location to have dinner at before a concert or show. Menu had a wide range of options. Service was timely.
Very nice early New Year’s Eve celebration.
We were promptly seated and service personnel were attentive. It was not a busy time for the restaurant. We 4 friends, who had much to share, loved the quiet. We enjoyed the view from the big, curving windows overlooking the Segerstrom Plaza. The food was excellent. The only downside: it was a bit chilly.
Place was outstanding. Food was great. Service was exceptional.
Will definitely be coming back.
My girlfriend and I had a prefixed meal before the ballet. We were disappointed with the meal selection as we thought there was a choice for the main course. I think the other choices on the menu would have been more satisfying. Given that we were on a time crunch it was not the best optimal time to experience this restaurant for the first time. It was a good value for what we got but I would do it differently the next time.
The entire Segerstrom performing arts plaza has become more and more beautiful! Leatherby's is great for pre-performance dining-- excellent service with a really friendly wait-staff. The food is also excellent--
I know we'll be back-- (Parking in general around Segerstrom is a little annoying. If can't get the "Performance rate of $12 until 5:30--- which makes an early pre-theater dinner reservation difficult." Other than that deal parking is $20.00-- and up. Disney Hall Parking is $9.00. It would be nice if the restaurant had some sort of arrangement where you could get the performance parking rate AND arrive early for dinner reservation.
We were seated and there were no other guests around us. It was 5:15 when we arrived. There may have been four tables occupied in the whole restaurant. The next guests (party of 4) were seated right next to us when there were many other tables available. The guests next to us were not the quietest. There were many other tables available for more than 30 mins. after we arrived. When we make reservations again, we will ask for a table by the window as there is an aisle next to you.
Got the feeling most care and attention used up by the Nutcracker crowd which had just left. Service casually attentive, except food servers. Drinks good but not memorable. Food looked kind of thrown on the plate. Steak nicely cooked but its crust and potato 'chips' exceedingly salty. Couldn't eat. Mentioned to disinterested waiter.
Love location, convenience and even decor. Others not up to Patina standard. Sorry.
The food was delicious but it took over 40 minutes to get any food - and we started with SOUP.
When I explained that we were going to a show (thank goodness we were super early), he pointed out that I had no need to worry. We almost MISSED the beginning of the show.
Slowest service, most stressful pre-show experience ever. We dined here before a once in a lifetime show. It took 5 minutes for someone to even come to the hostess stand to acknowledge us. It took 25 minutes to bring our food, and the first course they brought was dessert. Then they delivered another tables desserts. Our rolls came out after the entree. Our cocktails came with the entree. Food was good, but the service and pace was lethargic and disorganized. Leatherbys used to be excellent before-show fine dining that was precisely run to get you out on time. Since the big remodel, it’s been a disappointment.
My husband is very hard to please. He only accompanied me because I had a serious surgery the day before and did not want to miss a concert next door. He likes to eat early and the restaurant sent an email that they missed meso I responded with how about tonight in a quiet booth pre concert
We have had reservations at Leatherby's restaurant many times in 2018. The food has always been great as will as the service. We continue to come back at least once a month. We are looking forward to our next visit.
The food was great. The service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion and theater going! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Loved everything about the restaurant. Food & service were excellent!! I ordered Filet Sole. It was the best I’ve ever had and my friend ordered lamp chops & loved them.
People were awesome. Attentive but not in your face. Very efficient. Food was awesome. We had salmon and corn ravioli. Cocktails were top notch. Dessert was good, not inspired, but very good.
Andy, our server, was great
Butternut squash soup was watery and had to be sent back. Entree was so-so...
A little rushed for a slow rainy night.
Ina Garten appearance
No bread served just popovers. No bottled water option just tap water.
Once it got busy service was almost nonexistent
Why do you make female servers wear men’s ties? This was a style that originally started and was popular in the 1980s but now? Women must wear a male accessory???
Really enjoy dinning at Leatherby’s! Have never had a bad experience.
I have been to Cafe a Rogue twice. The food was average to poor both times. The meat and fish were over cooked and the soup had no taste. The service was very good and the place is very convinient to the concert hall. Very expensive for the quality of the food
This was our second time dining here, the food is fabulous and service really top notch, they truly know how to take care of their guests. Andy was our server, we wanted for nothing and he was super personable! Order the swordfish!
All good, food, ambiance, & service excellent.
I LOVE Leatherby's! What's not to like? The most spectacular architecture, the best undulated all glass wall surrounding the space, top of the line decor, great food, great service, an all around wow each time we go.
thank you for bringing back the pre theater menu. I had it tonight and it was excellent.
This is a good restaurant to go to before attending a performance at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. A little pricey but worth it. As for the table by the window
Everything was perfectly done--food, service, and ambiance. It has been a long time since I have dined at an establishment that hit so many high notes. It was a refreshing contrast to the many Orange County restaurants that are so over-rated, so noisy, and so celebrity-chef driven. The stars of this restaurant are the food and the customer. What a culinary experience! Bravo!
The food and ambience were excellent. Our servers were gracious. The only reason it's not getting all the stars is the food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. It was obvious they were understaffed.
We enjoyed it very much. Our server, John, was excellent. I had the duck and my husband had the scallops. Nice selection of wines by the glass; it was not lengthy but it covered all the bases nicely.
After noting on advanced dinner reservations it’s my wife’s birthday not one of our servers or manager even said happy birthday to her as not one read our reservations as having birthday celebration!
My “medium rare” steak was over-cooked and came with brocolini?? Yuck!!
When we were going take our seats for the performance our server was nice enough to offer sorbet for dessert. Tall male server was fairly inattentive.
So convenient for performances for Segerstrom. The salmon was not overcooked & the sauce tasty.
The scallops maybe could have used a few seconds longer in the pan. Love the popovers.
Great place to start a night out at the theater!! Pricey but worth it.
Service was slow for a restaurant that is used to play attendees. Food was just okay, not great.
We dined at Leatherby's Cafe Rouge prior to attending the theater, and it was a great experience! The food was excellent, the service was efficient and it was nice to be so close to the theater so we did not have to move our car or feel rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice meal prior to attending the theater.
Very enjoyable. Good food and service. Great choice for a pre-theater dinner.
