This is my second time coming Tilley and Louise. I’ve always loved it the previous times we’ve been there for today. The food was terrible. however, the service was great. The second time I’ve had the server and she was awesome.

Celeste was super rude, I’d drive to Charlotte from Fayetteville for this meal. I inquired sboot a drink that is on their menu , currently on their website.she stated the menu changes daily which is perfectly fine . I asked if she could speak with the bartender/mixologist to simply see if they had the items to make the drink. She looked at me annoyed and said “ no they don’t” I wanted to leave immediately. Nevertheless I stayed ... I’m a foodie I love trying new authentic cuisine snd allow my palate explore. The oxtail & grits portion size was quite a surprise I’d never seen oxtails like that before. It is as tasty but small in size for monetary value.

A very lovely experience for our Sunday Brunch. A lovely young lady was our waitress and the restaurant is very rustic but cute and cozy. The food was different, but like having a surprise given to you……a pleasant surprise. I had no idea what I was getting, but oh was it good. Every dish we selected was delicious. I personally enjoyed the Cabbage dish very much!

We ordered the turnip bread, catfish, shrimp & cabbage, carolina 75 and hibiscus margarita. The best dish was the cabbage with pork bisque, that bisque was a nice and different preparation. This was overpriced considering only one small wedge of cabbage was served. The turnip bread was not worth mentioning. The shrimp dish was disappointingly overcooked and flatly flavored. The "sauce" felt imbalanced and overly tangy. The catfish was wonderfully cooked and seasoned, but oddly plated. This was our 2nd favorite. The drinks were fairly uninteresting and straight forward. We felt the marketed dining experience and our actual experience left a LOT to be desired in service, portion size and flavor and as such felt a price of 16$0 was deeply overvalued.

It turns out all the hype about Leah & Louise is correct. Wonderful service, such delicious, creative food and a funky, casual, hip atmosphere. Our server made the best recommendations and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time. Can’t say enough positive about this experience.

Our experience was underwhelming. The options for drinks included water, juice or mocktails. We were told that we could not be served soda because the CO2 was out. There was some confusion about which menu was available to us-lunch vs dinner. We arrived at 4:20. The menu that was available online was not what was available when we arrived. If we had known the online menu was unavailable for our reservation time we would have gone somewhere else.

Most creative restaurant I have been to in Charlotte. Very cool venue. Delightful staff. I like that they keep the menu small, do a few things perfectly, and change it often. I will go back soon!

It was lovely. Asia, our server, was very knowledgeable, so nice and helped us make great menu choices from the drinks to the food. Everyone was very attentive and respectful. The food was excellent. Flavors and dishes were so good. Definitely will visit again.

Our experience was sadly not that great. Mostly tainted by our server. We ordered the mussels which came out spoiled and we had to send them back. We were brought a fresh order and told we would be comped for it. We were not. We had to then wave down our server to order as we waited quite sometime after our apps. We were ready to leave and asked for our bill and were told that he wouldn’t be able to split the bill without “closing out the ticket” and we would have to tip him cash. We were confused as we had never experienced that before. He then went to split our tickets and then the bill came back completely wrong including the mussels that we were told would be comped on the bill but leaving off an entree and our cocktails. We were again confused and asked for clarification as we wanted to ensure we paid correctly. He then split the ticket accurately and when he sat down the bill told us we needed to leave as others were waiting on our table. After most of us left, he insulted us to our friend who was gathering her things at the table “saying, nice company you keep”. It left us completely confused as no negative words were exchanged just questioning of the bill, and put a big damper on our evening and experience. Sadly, we will not be back.

I really wanted to like this place but service was rough. Had a reservation asked to sit outside and was told it would be 10 minutes ended up being 40 they can’t control that I get it but finally got seated and our waitress ignored us for another 20 minutes. When she did come she let us know she needed to check some other people out first and will get back to us with water so we put our entire order in. Another half and hour goes by and the bartender brings our waters followed by our apps. Cabbage and roll up were great and would recommend. Scallops tasted like I licked the grill top so either dirty grill or just burnt. Oxtail gnocchi was not bad but didn’t like it myself. They did comp the scallops and give us a free drink but overall not what I wanted it to be unfortunately.

Same as their sister restaurant Food was great! However service did not live up to my expectation. Service was very spotty waited extremely long for drinks. Server was very nice not rude but had to flag her down multiple times. Dining experience took too long.

Great space, unusual menu, great food and drinks. I was visiting Charlotte and wanted to take a long time resident to someplace they had not been. We lucked out with a reservation, ordered the chicken and sweet potato puree and started with the cornmeal brioche and black garlic butter and margaritas. GREAT dinner. We did everything short of licking the plate clean. Hope to return to try more of the menu offerings (we had food envy of every dish delivered to our neighbors).

Sat outside in cold with multiple tables open indoors. I know we asked to add in late, and we’re accommodated, but… Also could not get the check splitting right, even though we offered to do it ourselves, and the final third try was still wrong, and we just decided to sack up and pay. I mean, if you wanna win a Beard, you kinda gotta try. And I want to see that happen in CLT. I love L&L; been a bunch of times. Recommend to all my friends. Love to see a great restaurant with a great chef bring respect to the dining scene of my city. This last time though, bringing my friends from out of town and my long time friends who just moved to CLT for the first time, was a disappointing experience. Felt rushed from the second we sat down, told kitchen was closing soon - in my opinion… don’t offer seatings for 8:45pm if that’s gonna be the first impression after seating. I want to go to dinner to relax and enjoy a meal with loved ones, not to feel like a nuisance who needs to be served and rushed out ASAP. Huge pet peeve, and maybe that’s just me. I respect the time and effort of the back and front of house staff. Idk that it’s gotta be that way. Love L&L; I’m sure was just a one off experience. I’ll be back, of course.

Hey Joey! I'm sorry that your seating arrangement started your dining experience off wrong, but there is a lot that goes into hosting/seating that doesn't meet the eye! Last minute accommodations affect our pace and every other diner's experience in our quaint 36 seat restaurant. We have been investing time into deeper training with our staff in the front of house and we sincerely apologize that anyone made you feel rushed--we do have a clear seating policy time of (1hr 45 max) but we do want guests to fully be able to enjoy their time while they are with us. We are proud of our four James Beard nominations, whether we win or not; there is plenty of effort in our policies to perform at our highest regardless of outside recognition. Thank you for choosing to continue to dine with us!

A fun restaurant with a unique menu. The mussels were small and tasty with a special toast for the excellent sauce. Oxtail with grits, fried like hushpuppies, was good but quite a small portion. Cabbage was also nice. We would not order chicken skins again but we glad we tried then.

First, this in no way an attempt to put the restaurant in a bad light. In order for these fine folks to succeed feedback is warranted and honestly, should be appreciated. I want to make this simple and plain as possible. 1. The cabbage appetizer was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sauce perfectly balanced out the cabbage and pork. However, the appetizer should never be the best dish of the night. 2. The drinks were fantastic 3. The service was exceptional 4. The grilled scallops were over cooked. Overcooked to the point that the char from the grill permeated the entirety of the dish and it tasted as though you were eating next to a campfire. The portion size for the price was an absolute disappointment. The oxtail dish was delicious but yet again, the portion size was a disappointment. Seriously, we left dinner, stopped by the store and picked up something for when we got home. When I read the description of this restaurant my assumption was that this would be someone’s interpretation of a home cooked meal from their childhood. This was not a meal, it was simply a tasting. Had this been a coursed meal then the portions would have made sense but when your menu literally labels you entree as “Big Ole” you instantly think that you’re going to leave satisfied and full. I truly hope that management and ownership read this and understand that what you imply through your menu should be followed through on your dishes and portion sizes.

I'm sorry that your dish came out burnt and we would've gladly replaced it with a properly cooked scallop dish. It seems that we didn't meet your expectations with portion size & pricing, but we do aim for all of our dishes to be enjoyed in a tapas style fashion with a group. Our Big Ole dishes are not entrees and just larger plates compared to those on the get ready section. I understand how that may be confusing or misleading and I will work with the service staff, so that all of our guests understand the best way to navigate the menu. Our management and ownership team will take some time to ensure our kitchen is operating at our highest level. -Cherisse

The food was overpriced and not a good variety of choices. As a “starter” they gave you a piece of Texas toast with a brown butter, unacceptable to say the least. The drinks were horrible! I had to ask for Tequila instead of Vodka which made the drink good. The first drink I ordered was drenched in ginger and black tea, no liquor, just a strong taste of ginger. Not a great concept with the food or drinks. The ambiance was nice but I would not go back or even refer this to anyone!

The "Roll Up," brioche bread is a dish that tens of hundreds of hours of research and development to get it just right, it is a fullly housemade brioche bread that's infused with a roasted corn flavor. The decor of the place is awesome. Food and service definitely matched our expectations. The menu is concise yet unique. Our cocktails delighted our evening and made the entire meal an overall pleasant night out. I could definitely come back.
