Le Zie 2000
Le Zie 2000 has been a landmark of Chelsea, New York City for years. Stop by and partake in classic Italian fare prepared by talented Head Chef Matthew Winters. Le Zie 2000 serves each dish in a sophisticated yet unpretentious environment. The menu adheres to Venetian tradition but rotates throughout the year to ensure that only in-season ingredients are used.
With over 200 wine vintages from which to choose and The Lounge area, which is also available for private parties, Le Zie 2000 provides an ideal spot for festive nights out with friends or family. Partake in the weekend brunch options, or visit the main dining room in the evening. The outdoor patio allows guests to take in the breeze while enjoying lunch, while the Galleria features numerous contemporary art displays from Le Zie's own private collection.
Food was fantastic and it has a nice, charming ambiance. Our waiter was grumpy.
Always a perfect dining experience! The staff treats guests like royalty.
We had a lovely dinner with great attention to service. The food was well prepared with good presentation
Great food and service! Will certainly return and recommend!
Very appealing menu. All courses of the meal were excellent.
Le Zie is a reliably good Italian restaurant, with some especially good Venetian appetizers. The service can be trying due to difficulties understanding the waitstaff, although our waitress in the back room was excellent. Considering that this is not a stellar restaurant, the prices are a bit steep.
we had a lovely lunch. I can only eat pureed soup and they always seem to have one that is delicious. The person with me enjoyed his lunch, too.
Food and service were very good, but prices are too high.
We had no idea about this restaurant. Had a gift certificate so went. We were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food, gracious dining, excellent service.
the appys were yummy. Both had fish as a main and were very happy with our meals.
Cappucino was delicious.
Place is casual, food is delicious, drinks are tasty, ambience warm, service perfect.
Le Zie never disappoints. Consistently good.
Such a reliable neighborhood favorite. Some dishes are truly excellent (spaghetti and meatballs, tuna main course for instance). The problem is that there are a few that are sub par (eg artichoke starter). Overall love this place and come back often.
Loved the fresh ingredients. Appetizers and food were great. A little pricey for me.
$16 for a 5-6 oz glass of house wine. Granted, the wine was excellent, but at that price ( as well as the rest of the menu) I will go back , but not real soon.
Absolutely delicious! Very attentive wait staff. We've gone twice and will return for sure.
This is one of our regular haunts. The food is always great!
Delicious sea scallops prepared with cauliflower puré were excellent. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, and the noise level was comfortable for easy conversation. When we left, the restaurant was full, and the noise level was STILL very comfortable! Bravo for a restaurant that gets it right!
Both wine ( by the glass and bottles) and food were extremely overpriced! Food was mediocre at best. My yellow fin tuna ravioli tasted like pasty crabmeat - with bones! A Caesar salad wasn’t much either. No romaine, no sign of an anchovy, and ordinary dressing. Not crowded so you could sit a long time but very mediocre for the high price tag.
Excellent service, amazing food and great atmosphere. One of my NYC favorites.
Very nice lunch- octopus and salmon were excellent
Excellent sophisticated dishes. Fine red wine. First-rate ingredients and skillful rendition
I was very impressed. Had the shrimp cakes and grilled vegetables. Delicious! My friend had the octopus which I tasted and was my actual favorite. The portion size was decent and we were so full we could not have dessert. I am sure I will be back. It exceeded expectations.
4 of us went to lunch on a rainy friday and took advantage of the price fix lunch menu - 3 courses = $29 with a nice bottle of Primitivo for $51.00. The fried calamari were especially delicious and our waiter Carlos was efficient and charming. We wound up spending 3 hours over a leisurely perfect lunch. We've been before and the food and service are always excellent.
We had an 8 p.m. reservation but our table was not ready. We were taken outside and around the corner to a separate lounge to await our table. There was no place to wait in this very small and narrow space, as restaurant staff also used the aisle to transport food and dishes. Having ordered a drink, we were directed to follow the hostess--drink in hand--around a corner, up two levels, to our table. The hostess stood at the top of the stairs and watched as I navigated the stairs, spilling portions of my full glass as I ascended. Saying nothing, she watched as one final overflow of liquid dropped onto the stairs. Later on, when our waiter asked if I wanted a refill, I told him what'd happened. He returned with what looked like 1/8th of a drink as compensation. All around, not very classy.
As for the food, the fried zucchini were alternately cold and tepid, and the fried calamari was under seasoned. However, the broiled salmon with a horseradish crust was superb.
I would return for no other reason than that salmon!
Very nice dinner.
Great food and service. This is a regular place for me and friends to go.
Always a pleasure. First class dining in a casual atmosphere. Gourmet food, great wine selection. Accommodating service. We’ve gone there a few times now and always consistent. Can’t wait until next time...
Excellent neighborhood staple. I've been coming here for 15+ years with my family. Cannot go wrong with any dish. I recommend the Lasagna and the classic Spaghetti & Meatballs. YUM! The service is on point and always friendly.
The scallops were cooked to perfection and the watermelon granita made for delicious and refreshing finish to the meal.
Very pleasant surprise as we had not been there previously and found the entire experience very welcoming with excellent service and a terrific variety of entrees and other menu items.
Will definitely return!!
An expensive meal, but well worth it for a special occasion. Excellent wine choices and attentive service.
Enjoyed our dining experience. Had a lovely table outside. Was a bit pricey. My partner had the scallops which were delicious but for the price it was a small offering
Always delish service tops.
Have been coming to Le Zie for years. On Saturday, the food was good, as always, but the service left a lot to be desired. The female server seemed inexperienced, not particularly friendly. Instead of the fine service we normally experience, Saturday's experience was rushed, awkward.
The restaurant was not particularly busy, but there were numerous employees observed checking their cell phones throughout our 2+ hour dinner there.
Probably won't be in a rush to return to Le Zie anytime soon.
Great place with a variety of rooms in which to dine along with an outdoor patio. Loved the marinara and bolognese. Gnocchi small light and excellent. Veal parmesan and chicken piccata very good.
Love this place.
The host was friendly and helpful, the menu offered some unusual choices at moderate prices, and the waitstaff was efficient but not intrusive. The warm rooms were hung with diverse, lively, and tasteful art, indicative of the owner’s charm.
Casual neighborhood restaurant with reliably very good food and atmosphere.
Waiter was chill, food amazing. All good. Very nice lunch ambience.
Excellent brunch spot before attending a matinee at the Atlantic theater company around the corner
had the lobster Benedict which was wonderful
a few nits :the dishes came with an undressed salad and we had to ask for dressing and were given oil but no vinegar; so had to ask again. we also asked that there be no onions or garlic in the food due to my companions medical issues and the dish came with lovely paprika potatoes covered with caramelized onions Le Zie is not alone in not listening and following through with this request- I have been with my friend on many occasions and I’m astonished (onions and garlic make her extremely ill ) that they can be hidden in seasonings and are just as important as garlic cloves but are usually overlooked even when they go back to the kitchen and make the request. I would recommend L Zie however. Just would like a little bit more attention from the staff.
I prefer the smaller rooms in the back but wherever you sit the food and service are perfect!
I have Ben to Le Zie several times before, but this visit was not a happy one. The food was the problem. The Panzanella with Buratta was all buratta, no panzanella. So much cheese that it overwhelmed the sparse serving of salad completely. The farfalle with salmon was simply overlooked. The pasta was literally falling apart, like the over cooked ravioli my mother used to make. And everything had so much garlic that I was up most of the night with indigestion. I’ll write this one off as a bad day for the kitchen (the hostess told me it was the busiest night they’d had in a few weeks), but I won’t be in a hurry to return for another meal.
