About this restaurant

Come by Le Village in New Yorks East Village for the taste of French cuisine prepared by chef and owner Didier. Its colorful dcor and artwork create a warm and friendly ambience reminiscent of a petite French eatery. Guests at Le Village can order appetizers like onion soup, beet Carpaccio with red wine raisins, almonds and horseradish, as well as sauted Brussels sprouts with balsamic-glazed strawberries. Patrons can continue with main entres that range from goat cheese tart and veggie Napoleon with quinoa, pistachios, chickpeas and tomato sauce to red wine-sauted chicken and grilled salmon with spinach and oyster mushrooms. To complete the dining experience at Le Village, visitors can also enjoy dark lava cake with vanilla ice cream, banana brule, apple tart with coconut sorbet or other dessert selections. The restaurants menu shows the carbohydrate amount of every dish for the more health-conscious diners.

Good option if you have gluten free tummies to entertain, otherwise probably won't go back.

I always love a good BYO restaurant. They say they only allow one bottle per two people however they turned a blind eye when our group of three finished three bottles (I think mainly they just didn't want people getting rowdy). The brussel sprouts were amazzzzing definitely recommend. The gnocchi was also a great share item and cooked to perfection. The service was good, came when you needed something but not too in your face. I personally am not gluten free or vegan and still enjoyed the food. Will probably come back with my friends with diet restrictions.

The free BYO and friendly service are the best aspects of this restaurant.

The food was excellent and the service very helpful and efficient. The ambience is great and it does have a lovely cafe / bistro feel, the BYOW is also a welcome surprise especially with no corkage fee for the first bottle. Will definitely be back

I love this place. I have been there a few times - with veggie leaning and devout carnivores - all have been happy. The service is always attentive but with a laid back vibe. The food really is delightful - with a bounty of vegetarian, some vegan, and many gluten free options. But.. and this is the part that makes me love this place - with some solid meat options. Can't go wrong with the vegetarian cassoulet...it makes my mouth water just thinking about it! However, I have never had anything I didn't really enjoy and everyone I have gone with has been very happy with their choices. So...food is really tasty and doesn't lean on meat substitutes, etc. to create beautiful vegetarian options (which when well done can be great but frequently isn't well done)..the service is good and friendly (while not super upscale)...and the place is BYOW. It can be very hard to find a place that is BYOW and really delicious but Le Village manages it. The space is small and narrow and the chairs/tables are not luxurious.. but you are there for the food and company not decorations. It really is one of my favorite places in NYC and given the variety of restaurants that is saying something. I have come with locals as well as out of town visitors and it has always been great. I highly recommend.

Nice offerings of both vegetarian and meat dishes. Now vegetarians can eat with their meat eating friends. No one feels cheated! Brussel sprouts, cauliflower dish, veggie cassoulet all delicious! When I have my once monthly meat craving, going in for either the duck or angus burger! Also, I loved being able to bring my own bottle of wine. There is no corkage fee so it comes out to be a very reasonable evening! Great wait staff, nice evening, will be back.
