Established in 1937, Le Veau d’Or reopens under neo-bistro extraordinaires, Chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson.

Le Veau d'Or serves a $125 prix-fixe dinner menu Tuesday - Saturday and an $85 prix-fixe lunch menu Tuesday - Friday. We can accommodate up to four people per reservation in our main dining room. Unfortunately, we don't push tables together for larger parties, but our private dining can seat up to 20 guests.

Our bar is available for walk-ins where guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, or just a drink!

Our intimate dining room means we are unable to adjust party sizes once a reservation is confirmed. Decreases in party size will be subject to a fee of $50/seat.

Finally, as a courtesy to other guests, we kindly ask that you book reservation times when you can join us. If you have no intention of joining us at an available reservation time, please allow others the opportunity to book the reservation. Thank you for your consideration.

Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: The James Beard–recognized restaurateurs from Frenchette, Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson, took over one of the oldest French restaurants in New York when they restored and reopened Le Veau d’Or in 2024. Take comfort in the wood-paneled walls, red leather booths, and red-and-white checkered tablecloths, and get ready for a polished prix-fixe menu of pâté en croûte, poached lobster, and île flottante, among others. Catch a nightcap at the cozy bar—it’s a tiny treasure with only five seats.

Lunch at Le Veau d'Or was disappointing. The fixed price for very limited options and very small portions was excessive ($85 per person) and it included only an appetizer and main with additional charges for some items, for desserts and sides. As long as this would have been clearly shown with the reservation which required a Credit Card with a $50 cancelation per person. The food was well prepared as should be expected but again small portions and very limited options.

Everyone from the impeccable host Derek, to wait staff Olivia and her colleagues (whose names we regret not asking soon enough) seem happy to be working there, and that translates to the quality time they spend with the clients. The food is delectable, a 180° turn from before the Frenchette Group took over. We are grateful for a delightful lunch spent at Le Veau d’Or and look forward to returning both on our own and with more friends. Thank you.

Classic French bistro in Lenox Hill. The steak frites and chicken were amazing. The floating island dessert was also excellent. I wish it was a la carte instead of prix fixe, especially for lunch.

We loved Le Veau d’Or! It was everything we heard it would be. The service was exceptional. Food was really special. My martini was a 10+. Can’t wait to go back and we will try our hardest again for that last minute cancellation to get in! Fabulous!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience. My boyfriend and I were visiting from New Orleans and snagged a reservation for his birthday. The staff went sooo above and beyond to make our meal special. We ordered the Oysters, Pommes, Duck, and Chocolate mousse but they sent out a few extra plates for us to try. For such a wonderful upscale meal, the staff was so unpretentious and refreshing. For $125 prefix it is absolutely worth it and is hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Only thing I’d do differently is skip the drinks. We spent $75 on two cocktails and a glass of wine. Already looking forward to the next time we are able to have dinner here.
