Le Salon Privé
As well as a gorgeous Private Dining Room on the first floor, Le Salon Privè is a little piece of France in St.Margarets
Nice place overall, with good service and ambience. Starters were very nice, we had a good soufflé and a beetroot salad. Main courses not amazing but solid. Hake was a touch over and broth not particularly remarkable. Overall a nice experience though.
Loved everything about it! Perfect meal, great service.
Wonderful restaurant, the staff were perfect and the food and drink happened to be amazing also. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
We had a waitress who was clueless e.g. she didn't give us a food menu. We had to ask for it. It was a shame because everything else about the dinner was pleasant.
Delicious meal, and very well looked after by Gianluca. We love going there.
Charming warm service, tasty food, good value if one uses the menu du jour option, lovely ambience and soft noise level facilitating conversation. Rare to find a restaurant of this quality nowadays that ticks most boxes.
Had the most amazing meal at Le Salon Prive for my partners birthday - Food and Service was 5 star!
Had the Sunday set menu which was fantastic value.....Will be returning ASAP! Thanks
Birthday dinner with the girls and everything was spot on. Perfect service, excellent wine choices and amazing food = happy diners!
I had the four gras starter, which was delicious, but all four starters looked and tasted great. Trio of pork was perfect and the chocolate fondant just finished the meal off perfectly.
Standard of food and service has gone down since our last visit. They need to make improvements to the all
sections of the menu. Basically improve the standard and quality
High quality French cuisine served well. A really great find
Lovely experience. Attentive and unfussy service, great wine list and really enjoyable food in a pretty dining room.
Lovely meal, beautifully served. Calm and friendly atmosphere.
My parents came to visit from abroad, took them out for a fancy dinner and we were not disappointed. Ordered escargot and oysters for starter and they were brilliant. Steak for the main was somewhat quite salty but the grill and quality was still amazing. The owner himself takes care of the customer and although it was a very fancy restaurant, we felt welcomed and they treated customers very well. Perfect balance for a homey feeling and fancy restaurants! Will definitely return sometime in the future. Thank you very much :)
Ps. The chocolate fondant was 1000/10 definitely recommend this dessert dish!
Extremely overpriced. Nothing on your site when I booked, OpenTable, to say we would have to pay £65 for a three course “Rugby Menu”. Without any drinks included. That is mis-selling on your part, OpenTable. I see the normal three course lunch is £35. Even that is generous, I would say, for extremely ordinary food and hugely overpriced wine - the cheapest bottle was £35 for a £6 bottle of plonk.
A truly terrible rip off. Here’s hoping you go out of business soon, as you deserve it.
My last visit here was when it was called Brula. Today my brother treated me to meal for my birthday. Service was lovely, food was delicious and still great!
Lovely food, quite expensive and there was a limited menu / wine list due to the rugby which was a bit frustrating. We also felt a bit as though we were rushed out the door as well. Overall however the excellent quality food meant we would return.
Excellent food and service
This is an excellent restaurant. It is an attractive room, the menu is interesting and the food is mainly
good. I use the word "mainly" because there was one dud main dish, very overcooked skate with skin so tough it was not possible to access the flesh without a struggle. Could the skate have been pre-cooked and then re-heated? Only the chef would know!
Truly terrible meal. The escargot were cremated, my brother sent back his fish and I could barely cut my chateaubriand. The waitress couldn’t open the wine and split the cork in half. We were so disappointed because we’d only heard good things but it reeked of a substitute chef.
Having been to Le Salon Privè for dinner, we decided to try lunch there. The Steak and Vin offer was excellent in quality and value. The house red, included in the offer was mellow and smooth, a very pleasant accompaniment to the meal.
We travel 9 miles to get to this restaurant - well worth the trip.
Our new favourite restaurant around Twickenham / St Margarets. Loved it and reasonably priced.
Without a shadow of a doubt the best food in the area. We really enjoy going here and would highly recommend it.
Had a lovely meal with friends who liked it so much they want to go again.
Great food, good value altogether a very good experience.
Really nice Sunday lunch at my local french bistro
Love it here. We have been a number of times and have always enjoyed it. This time I took my other half and daughter for his birthday. They went over and above to give us great service and even made a special desert with a candle and a big happy birthday in chocolate sauce. We loved it. Thanks for always giving us great service.
A lovely lunch. The menu had just changed for the summer and it did not disappoint. I will visit again.
Excellent food. The service was friendly and speed has been adapted by the waitress. She grasped the context of the dinner. Thanks
Love this place, very attentive service without being over bearing, the food is of the highest quality and presented every well, Highly recommended.
The food was excellent and the staff were so lovely. Have been meaning to go here for a while and enjoyed it so much we will back again soon.
This place is a gem recommended to us a few months ago. We finally went, and it lived up to the recommendation. Nice size restaurant that is not overcrowded. The service was polite and efficient. The food was just amazing. Fresh, full of flavour, good portion size and most of all, French!
Lovely food and our waitress was so lovely. Nice atmosphere and although attentive not over so.
I went out with a colleague for dinner. The service seemed rushed from the start. It was like they wanted to get us in and out. My starter of pate was simple but good. My friend ordered a steak which he enjoyed. I ordered fillet of sole which I have had many times and enjoy. From the first bite, I knew I did not like it. It had an odd sauce and it was quite mushy which is unusual for sole. I took a few bites and could not finish it.
What really surprised me was that both the waitress and manager recognized that I was not enjoying my main course but they made no effort to offer me something else. It is a neighborhood place and perhaps they recognized we were not from the neighborhood. So no need to encourage our return. I usually don’t complain but when you are paying 200 pounds for dinner, you expect a little more. There are better places in the area.
A nice place for a quiet meal - very civilised. However, it is on the pricey side, and what we had wasn't exceptional: my beef which I'd asked to be cooked 'medium' was closer to 'well done'; the potato fondant didn't taste that fresh either. We were a bit underwhelmed really, though not disappointed.
Very enjoyable meal. We found the starters more enticing than the main courses and as such had fun building a rather indulgent tasting menu of almost all of them. The malden oysters were excellent, the snails hit the spot, the endive and goats cheese delicious, my favourite however was the soufflé not to mention the scallops and pork belly which is a must. The pigeon and the octopus carpaccio were the only slight disappointments, both very pretty on the plate however otherwise and comparatively underwhelming. We got slightly jeoulous when we saw the chateaubriand so went on to order a 200g filet steak which was perfection, the sear and glaze was amazing. The wine menu was well considered and reasonable value I thought. The service was very attentive.
Good, classic french fare. Price wise at the high end for what is on offer. The classic ambience has suffered as they got rid of the proper white tablecloths and a proper written menu has been replaced with grease spotted printed menu cards. An average still a decent place.
Exceptional value for money and quality. Old school dining and delicious, beautifully prepared food.
Birthday lunch. We went for the a la carte menu and it was all delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food. Reasonable wine list.
Poor ambience. Too quiet and too bright.
Service Ok. It was fair priced but I probably wouldn’t go back.
We had a fabulous meal at the Salon prive but being the last and only table left at 10 PM on a Friday night was disappointing. Also, the waitress started cleaning up while we were still drinking and the smell of bleach was rather unpleasant and spoilt our experience. The food was outstanding though.
It was my 2nd visit in a couple of weeks, it really is a great little french restaurant. Food was excellent again with a beautiful mix of flavours and very well presented.
