Anchoring the renaissance of Rockefeller Center is Le Rock, a thoughtful revamp of a historic Art Deco space from James Beard Award-winning chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr. From the team behind some of Manhattan’s best restaurants (including Frenchette and Le Veau d'Or) comes an updated take on a grand brasserie in a iconic space, hailed by The New York Times in a Critic’s Pick three star review as “truly exciting”. Though focused on French cuisine, the location is iconic New York - Le Rock is located on 50th St between Fifth and Sixth Avenues adjacent to the Theater District, as well as MoMA and Radio City Music Hall. Open six days a week (closed Sunday), weekdays with continuous service from lunch until 9 pm.

Expect the same impeccable service, but true to the iconic skyscraper’s Art Deco style, even more over-the-top glamour in the design details. This is the scene for soignée seafood towers, saucy bison au poivre, and showstopping tarte tatin. No wonder Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr have been named James Beard Semifinalists for Outstanding Restaurateur.

What a wonderful new addition to Rockefeller Plaza: beautiful space, hospitable & caring staff, and delicious food. The roasted chicken salad is enough for the trip but the chocolate mousse closes the deal. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable meal to a (hopefully) new Gotham staple. Thank you Le Rock!

Service was lackadaisical and disinterested. Food was whatever. Tourist trap for sure.

Loved the service and beautiful ambiance . The portions of some of the appetizers are small. $27.00 should get a decent size pasta serving . I passed on getting chilled shrimp when I was told for $27.00 there would be only 3 shrimp which is inadequate for a couple to share . Six would be more adequate. I splurged on my entree which was a duck breast for $54.00 . The preparation including flavoring of the duck breast was superb .But the duck breast was split in two and there was a think layer of fat on both halves which was very difficult to remove with a knife .

It took over 30 minutes to get our two salads. Our server was not really engaged. Not a great way to spend a business lunch.
