I have been here a number of times and always enjoy this charming little restaurant. Three of us had lunch at Le Rivage the day a nor’Easter was passing through. We were absolutely soaked with wet snow and slush by the time we got there. The staff could not have been nicer in helping us get out of our wet coats, hats and gloves and seating us immediately. Their prefix menu offers a wide variety of choices and includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. We were all very happy with our cocktails and lunch choices. Our waiter was charming and helpful throughout our time there. We were never rushed, but the staff kept in mind that we had a Broadway matinee to attend. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a charming atmosphere, lovely staff and good French food. We plan to dine here again on next trip to New York.

We went to Le Rivage for my birthday dinner last week and had an absolutely wonderful time. The $29 Prix fixe is a fine and affordable choice. The Truite Almondine took me back to childhood dinners in France, though I would have preferred to get the whole fish, head and all, rather than just the filets. I guess they think the while critter would make Americans squeamish.

The creme caramel and chocolate mousse were classic and delicious. Service restrained and perfect.

This is an old-school neighborhood French restaurant. No silly sushi or pad thai "fusion" nonsense; this is about butter and flavor and tradition. Chef Denamiel even came by to visit our table and we enjoyed chatting with him about food and old-timey French restaurants in the city. When he learned it was my birthday he sent a yummy sweet rum drink to our table after the meal.

In short, we loved it. It awoke memories of old fashioned French days past, and promise if buttery happiness in days to come.

We will return for sure.

Another outstanding meal at one of our favorite French restaurants. Decided to leave my comfort zone and order some new things. My wife had the great pate and I had the roasted beet salad for appetizers. Both great. I did have my favorite canard d'orange (duck) with some of the delicious brigard sauce on the side, and my wife had the beef burgundy--again very good. Dessert was chocolate mousse and creme brulee . The owner was at our table numerous times asking how everything was. Our waiter was very attentive. Again, not disappointed. It is a great deal. The prix fix is just $39 per person if you don't order something with a supplement but I just can not pass up the duck ($8 supplement but well worth it). The menu is a catalog of great French food items. If you want to feel like you are dining in Paris, go here.

My steak and my girlfriend duck were absolutely unacceptable. I ordered File minion. It was so far from that cut. Plus it was over cooked and waiter didn’t check with me

Great authentic French bistro just metres away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Great selection of starters and mains on the fixed price menu, with a large selection of reasonably priced wines. All the food was well cooked, good sized portions and very tasty. Don't be concerned about the location near Times Square, this doesn't have the feel of a touristy place and the taste delivers. Service a little hap hazard but friendly. Great to get away from the lights and noise

Family get-together for 8 worked out very well, was given a nice near-private space in the back of the restaurant. Prix-fixe menu had plenty of good choices at a fair price. 4/5 for service because a late arrival, who ordered after the rest of the group, never received his starter or main. Food 4/5 because I've been to Paris often enough to know the difference!

This was a pretheater dinner. They have their service well orchestrated to cater to the theater crowd. This was prix fixe set with plenty of options to choose from. The cocktails and wine were nice. Every course was well prepared and tasty French comfort food.

We dined Pre theatre and nice prix-fixe meal. Good quality and quantity. We we're dining before evening theatre and it was obvious that many we're dining after matinee show. Kitchen staff was obviously over taxed and food courses were slow to appear and uneven in arrival.

Chef Owner Paul put together a delightful assortment of appetizers, entrees and desserts. His crepes with goat cheese is outstanding. Two people at our table had Halibut that was outstanding, others had the Bronzini which was also a five star dish. The wine list is more than adequate. WItstaff is efficient. Desserts leave you wishing for more. We have fined here many times for dinner and when it served lunch. Paul never disappoints.

This is the second time we've been to La Rivage pre-theater and they know what they are doing to get people in and out on time for their shows. It's a 3 course fixed price dinner for $39.00. There are a good choice of selections. The food comes out fast and is good. I think reservations are a must and when making the reservation tell them your show time. Our group of 4 enjoyed everything.
