Excellent service, excellent food, nice ambiance

My absolute favorite French restaurant in NYC! I had a wonderful birthday dinner there.

While we ate outdoor due to the virus on a cold night, the seating was well ventilated & heated. The service was excellent & food was excellent.

Staff was extremely nice and accommodating. They had live music which was a bit too loud to hear the waiter speak, but the music itself was very nice. Overall we had a great experience.

Great Good, great service and a nice place. Everything was great except for them having a jazz band playing loud music. If we had known beforehand we we would have gone elsewhere since our group hadn’t met in a while and wanted to catch up but unfortunately we couldn’t hear each other. Great food and service though.

Not only was the food amazing but the staff was just incredible.

My husband and I have been dining at Le Rivage for over 10yrs.The French ambiance is felt as soon as you enter the restaurant. Their menus are either prix fix or you can order from the dinner menu.
If you are a lover of French food, may I suggest the escargot as an appetizer? Le Rivage is one of the very few French Restaurants that serve escargot the proper way-in the shell!
Their Duck L'Orange is my favorite entree.
Staff is very professional and knowledgeable as far as menu and refreshments are concerned.
And Giselle... She is lovely and always helpful in fulfilling any request we may have.
You won't be disappointed dining at Le Rivage.

The food and service were excellent as usual. My only issue was that the menu was different than what was presented online. I wanted filet mignon(which was present online) but it was not available that day. I understand the issues with the covid restrictions, but they should fix this because it was my birthday celebration and we drove in from Queens.

Love the atmosphere and the food is amazing

I know all restaurants are hurting from the pandemic but since Paul took over from Marcel (before pandemic) it went downhill. Even diners don’t serve toasted white bread. Instead of raising prices up to the 10% allowance and offering their menu, they have a limited lunch menu. And a 3.5% charge is taken for any credit card used.
I used a reward of 5,000 points and was only allowed $25 which I would not have redeemed at this time if I knew t was so low.
But can you believe they deducted 3.5% from my $25 redeemed reward.
The best part of the evening was that until we were just about finished we were the only people eating inside. Everyone else was eating in the noisy street.

Onion burger is unbelievable. A must have. One of my favorite restaurants in NY. First time having to burger OMG. You must try it !!

Food was good- service was very slow - place was empty and it took 15 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted a cocktail .. another 15 to take an order etc - food was good - but wouldn’t go back because of service

Excellent food and service

Le Rivage has excellent canarde l’orange. My husband had an excellent French onion soup burger. The outside dining was fine and the service was good.

After six months absences due to COVID-19 it was a thrilled to return. Always one of our favorites in mind-town Manhattan.

Oh My!! Was this just so fabulous. It was even better than we remembered. The Beef Bourguignon was out of this world. We also had Coq au Vin and it too was melt in your mouth delicious. The baked mussels were also better than they had ever been. Maybe new chef? Not that they ever were bad, but these were over the top wonderful. The waitstaff was so pleasant. Cedric couldn't be more attentive. Of course the street noise from across the street could have been lower (awful singer unfortunately). We saw the French Onion Soup burger on the menu. Someone at the next table ordered it- looked amazing - definitely going back for it soon.

Eggs Florentine was fantastic!!! Went for a nice brunch and the $35 prefix is a great deal and the owner is super sweet

Le Rivage has done a great effort in these times of Covid-19. The menu is less extensive, which is perfectly understandable, but the food is prepared up to high standards; the service is as kind and efficient as ever. Full marks!

Excellent. I just wish it was cooler as it was humid outside but that is the law and Mother Natures fault.Still very very good.Very important to support these small places now as without Theatres we need to make sure they survive.

The outdoor seating during these Times is lovely. The food continues to be so good.

Outdoor dining was very pleasant and food was delicious - I highly recommend the trout! Service was friendly and quick, too.

We loved our brunch with LeRivage. The waiters and waitresses are very polite and genuinely friendly. We love Julien who waited us patiently!! The food was great, melt in your mouth Boeuf Bourgignon, with the mashed potatoes that are very light. Escargots de Bourgogne was a delight, so garlicky yummy. The Baked Seafood Crêpe was really good too. Canard à L’Orange was top notch, the sauce, mmmmm good. To finalize it with a rich chocolate mousse was perfect. We wanted to taste some other dishes but we were so satisfied and full to the brim already!! Highly recommend this place in the theatre district. I’m sure, we will come back for more!!!

The frosé was just what I needed on the warm summer night when I went. Food came out fast. Highly recommend the seafood crepe appetizer.

Waiter would not let me have a box to take my leftovers home. He said he has to take it to the kitchen. Well, guess what. He brought it back missing my wonderful mashed potatoes. When I told him about it he brought it back with about a spoonful of mashed potatoes, much less than was on my plate. I will not return., because I don't like bad service. Can't see why I couldn't do it myself.

Really enjoyed and will be going again! Service was outstanding.

This restaurant was amazing. My girlfriend and I went for her birthday and we were able to speak French with the waiter (we studied it in school). My girlfriend had studied abroad in Paris also and said the restaurant felt exactly as if she was back in Paris. We would definitely, definitely recommend Le Rivage and look forward to going back soon!

Great meal and service

My friends and I were delighted with the table in the corner near the window. We were treated with such respect and was given ample time to review the menu.

The service was excellent. The food choices were amazing and everyone said their selection was delicious.

We would certainly recommend the Le Rivage to friends and family.

Very accommodating to guests and very warm and welcoming.

Three French waiters sang happy birthday to me. Nice French wine by the half bottle. Very charming.
