We have been dining at Le Rivage for years. Food always reliable. Very good value and selection with their prix fixe menu. Seating very close quarters for lunch for two. Did not appreciate a $3 surcharge to switch from potatoes to another vegetable.

Le Rivage is our favorite NYC restaurant. We go there whenever we are in town. This time we had a friend join us. He was as complimentary to Le Rivage as we are.

Had dinner here before a Broadway show on Friday night. The service was very good and the atmosphere was nice as well. As you would expect, this isn’t 5-Star dinning in the theatre district p, but it was fine and was a reasonable value. They serve a 3 course prix fixe menu. Good selection and overall decent quality food.

Great classic French food. Service was attentive but not intrusive. They understand that many need to finish in time to get to a show. 3 course prix-fixed pre-theatre menu offered sufficient variety of choices, reasonable price for NYC. They put a candle on my teenager's napoleon dessert but didn't embarrass her by singing, which was appropriate for us. The beet mango salad, trout and chocolate mousse were exceptional. Caesar salad was okay, coq au vin was melt in your mouth with good flavors and napoleon was terrific.

Our meal at Le Rivage was delicious and the pre-show prix fixe menu was quite extensive and varied. The space is small but nicely decorated. Tables are fairly close together, but in our case, it was a plus since we struck up a lively Broadway play conversation with the folks at the next table. We reserved 5PM to ensure we were in and being served before the horde of diners came in at 5:30. It worked well. We highly recommend Le Rivage, and made a note to come back next time we are in NYC.

We selected Le Rivage because it wasn't known to us, and because one of our party is very fond of French food. It was an excellent choice. All our dishes proved classic and perfectly made, and service was very good. I hope to revisit the restaurant in the future.

The STAHhhhhhh of Restaurant Row! We like to avoid the pre-theater crowds since we are NYers. So we love to come in later and enjoy our favorite famous dish the french onion soup burger!!! But this time around they had bone marrow. Get ready for a mini dinosaur to come to your table! So I️ had my meat fill with that and went with Caesar salad. I️ love this one because there aren’t anchovies in it, which they are quick to tell you if you have any reservations about it. My BF amazingly double downed on the meat and went filet. I️ admit to having a bite. Cooked to pretty pink perfection. If you’re in the area... don’t miss it;)

Foos and service were good except that the waiter was not clear bout the choices for water.
We thought we were getting tap water, and were charged for Evian Spring Water.
It cost $14 we didn't anticipate.
Annoying, but not enough to ruin our appreciation of the good food

Ended up here by default since Saju Bistro was booked. Everything from the French onion soup, with its thin veneer of cheese and little onion, to the beef boulonnaise, with its sub-par quality meat and, finally, to the peach melba, which was dreadful made this a one-and-done. At least the Broadway show was good.

What a wonderful place. You would think you were in Paris. We went pre-theater. Having seen the ala Carte menu I was sad only the prix fix was available. I do not eat dessert often and what I wanted was not on the menu. They made an exception and we loved the frogs legs and duck sandwich. The quiche makes you wonder why it is still not a craze. Service was excellent especially when they were filled with theatre goers

Great food right down to those scrumptious desserts. Wine really good as well. Only draw back is the tight fit; you can actually join the conversation at neighboring tables. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit and certainly worth it considering NY prices.
We were there many years ago and it has actually improved since then.

Suitable for pre theater

There is nothing great about the food here - but the restaurant is large enough to take diners who don't reserve weeks in advance and knows how to get diners out in time for nearby shows. Order simple items that are more than acceptable.
