Very nice food, water at $7.50 is a bit much. French Onion soup was the best I’ve had.

First time here, bartender and waitstaff were all very friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. Even though it was packed (classic NYC with tables very close together), the service was fast and food was delicious. Portions are realistic (not oversized) so we were full and satisfied by the end of the 3 courses.

The food is consistently excellent. I have eaten at LeRivage many times, and I am never disappointed. Even though it seems that there is a new owner and new servers, I still rate it one of the best in theater district.

Excellent food -- as always! I've never been disappointed by the food. They've recent changed the staff from women to young men, so they're still learning and their accents are thick -- but not a real problem.

Second time here. This time for pre theatre. Food was excellent. My friend & I both liked our dishes. I had a seafood crepe. It was pre fixe $29 brunch. Good selection of wines. Good service. Very nice.

They have a price fixed pre-theater dinner where you can order an appetizer, an entree and a dessert from anything on the menu or even specials that day. Some things have a small additional cost. It is all very worthwhile and delicious!

We went after a matinee so it wasn’t very busy. The prie fixe menu offers many choices and it is a very good value. Been coming here for years. Service and food are excellent.
However, when we came in we were asked if we wanted to check our jackets. We said no as we had lightweight, short jackets. The hostess then said we had to check our jackets as she didn’t want them in back of chairs as the restaurant might get crowded. So we checked the jackets but then we were seated where our chairs were against a wall so our jackets would have been in no one’s way plus it didn’t get crowded while we were there. Don’t ask if we want to check our jackets if you require us to check them!

This is a great restaurant with authentic French food. They treat you like family. The atmosphere is classic French, cozy and laid back. The bathrooms are large and clean. Great value. Food is superb!!!

We love, love, loved this restaurant....our only complaint is that it was only 6:00pm when they ran out of a special entree that we ordered. Everything was beyond delicious and service was attentive.

We thoroughly enjoyed the prix-fixe lunch before the theater.

One complaint: there were only 2 of us & the server asked who gets the crepe? At a restaurant like this, the servers should not have to ask who gets what dish. I waited tables all through college & didn't find that hard to do.

Delicious food and fast pre-theater service.. I would have liked to have lingered over the meal to appreciate it longer, since it was delicious. I had the salmon an d it was cooked perfectly. The peach compote dessert was SO yummy, but at that point all I could think about was getting to Hamilton!

We go to Le Rivage when we go to the theater. The food is always excellent! The Seafood Bisque is outstanding, we get it every trip.
The portions are perfect to make you feel comfortable but not overstuffed. The desserts are wonderful. Le Rivage is our favorite restaurant in NYC!

We went to celebrate a double birthday; the staff welcomed us warmly and wished us Happy Birthday on arrival. Pleasant French ambiance, with Mediterranean paintings. Friendly staff. Good value menu of French fare: we had the Pate de Campagne and Liver and Bacon, and Stuffed Mussels and Truite Almondine; all dishes tasty and well prepared. For desert we had Peach Melba and Bread Pudding, neither outstanding; perhaps we should have stuck to the French menu. Service was good. My only adverse comment is that the tables were too close together, but I suppose squeezing in as many as possible keeps the prices reasonable. Will certainly try this again for value.

They are very sensitive to guests on a pre-theatre schedule, bring the food quickly but with no feeling of being rushed. They have this down to an art. Since their prix fixe for lunch includes the entire menu, it's an extremely good bargain.

We were lured in by the $39 prix fix menu, which was extensive. We were catching a show afterwards, and the restaurant was close to the theater. The service and food were fair, at best. We were disappointed.

Our dinner at Le Rivage was absolutely delightful! They offered a three course prix fixe dinner with an extensive list of selections in all three courses for $39! The escargot were perfectly prepared, and I tried their special French Onion Soup Burger which was beyond the best. I had no intention of ordering a burger in a French restaurant but I am surely glad I did because it was delicious. We took our desserts home because we were too full to eat them and I'm sorry to say my friend ate both of them so I can't comment but she must have liked the both - the Napoleon and the bread pudding.
Our server, Ionnis, was charming and helpful.
If I lived in NYC, I would go to Le Rivage all the time.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The French menu was authentic and the food was well presented and was quite good. The server was very attentive without being overwhelming. We had a fixed price Sunday lunch and the portions were ample and quite satisfying. The tables are close together so if that bothers you, I would say do not go. We do look forward to dining here again at a future date.

I have been many times. Good food & good value. I love the celery root remoulade starter, but they didn’t have it this time so we had the stuffed mussels. They were disappointing: greasy & needed much more garlic & some acid. Won’t get them again. The trout almandine was very good, altho I had to request lemon. The peach Melba was a lovely dessert.

I chose this place because of its proximity to the theaters. A group of us were seated timely ( we had a reservation ) and in a good location, good for people watching! I think the group appreciated the prix-fixe idea. The menu provided many choices. Everything was plentiful, well presented and delicious! Several had the Beet salad & Trout Almandine. I enjoyed the salmon tremendously. My friend who ordered the duck ( paid extra for it ) said it was fantastic. Another friend who ordered the creme brûlée ( also extra surcharge ) was disappointed in hers. I loved the mousse; and the berries looked amazing! cant wait to go back to Le Rivage with my husband next time we are in NYC and near the theatre district.
