Always one of our favorites. Food is consistently good. The servers are so friendly.
Excellent food & amazing service
We went to Le Rivage for my birthday dinner last week and had an absolutely wonderful time. The $29 Prix fixe is a fine and affordable choice. The Truite Almondine took me back to childhood dinners in France, though I would have preferred to get the whole fish, head and all, rather than just the filets. I guess they think the while critter would make Americans squeamish.
The creme caramel and chocolate mousse were classic and delicious. Service restrained and perfect.
This is an old-school neighborhood French restaurant. No silly sushi or pad thai "fusion" nonsense; this is about butter and flavor and tradition. Chef Denamiel even came by to visit our table and we enjoyed chatting with him about food and old-timey French restaurants in the city. When he learned it was my birthday he sent a yummy sweet rum drink to our table after the meal.
In short, we loved it. It awoke memories of old fashioned French days past, and promise if buttery happiness in days to come.
We will return for sure.
Another outstanding meal at one of our favorite French restaurants. Decided to leave my comfort zone and order some new things. My wife had the great pate and I had the roasted beet salad for appetizers. Both great. I did have my favorite canard d'orange (duck) with some of the delicious brigard sauce on the side, and my wife had the beef burgundy--again very good. Dessert was chocolate mousse and creme brulee . The owner was at our table numerous times asking how everything was. Our waiter was very attentive. Again, not disappointed. It is a great deal. The prix fix is just $39 per person if you don't order something with a supplement but I just can not pass up the duck ($8 supplement but well worth it). The menu is a catalog of great French food items. If you want to feel like you are dining in Paris, go here.
This place was just fabulous. Every single member of their staff was so polite n pleasant. The food was great and was definitely worth the money
Had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch here. Everything I ate was delicious. The seafood crepe was exceptional. Have been there many times and will definitely be back.
My steak and my girlfriend duck were absolutely unacceptable. I ordered File minion. It was so far from that cut. Plus it was over cooked and waiter didn’t check with me
Great authentic French bistro just metres away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Great selection of starters and mains on the fixed price menu, with a large selection of reasonably priced wines. All the food was well cooked, good sized portions and very tasty. Don't be concerned about the location near Times Square, this doesn't have the feel of a touristy place and the taste delivers. Service a little hap hazard but friendly. Great to get away from the lights and noise
Family get-together for 8 worked out very well, was given a nice near-private space in the back of the restaurant. Prix-fixe menu had plenty of good choices at a fair price. 4/5 for service because a late arrival, who ordered after the rest of the group, never received his starter or main. Food 4/5 because I've been to Paris often enough to know the difference!
Great for pre-theater.... nice menu with great service.....
Very nice restaurant. Good food. Very friendly service
Great food..great service. Shout out to Caesar. Great waiter!
Le Rivage is consistently excellent. I have never been disappointed. Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Always a beautiful experience.
Consistently excellent. Great service, perfect pre theatre
Great pre-fix menu! Outstanding service!
Girls night, we had the escargot, bone marrow and steaks.. all was delish!!
Excellent food and service. The chef even came around to see how we were enjoying our meal. I would go here again for sure!
A great choice for pre-theater lunch or dinner. Prie fixe is a bargain, food and service are first rate.
Food was average. The waiter was Very Loud!!! Gave me a headache. Kind of counter to what you'd expect at a French restaurant.
I have eaten here several times. Food is always very good and service is excellent. Plenty of choices on the pre fix menu. You will have trouble deciding from so many wonderful options.
It never disappoints. $29 price fix lunch is a bargain.
Their peach Melba is to die for:
Great food and great service. Such a little gem in the middle of the Theatre District. Perfect for pre-show!
This was a family dinner. Dinner then a show
Chef Owner Paul put together a delightful assortment of appetizers, entrees and desserts. His crepes with goat cheese is outstanding. Two people at our table had Halibut that was outstanding, others had the Bronzini which was also a five star dish. The wine list is more than adequate. WItstaff is efficient. Desserts leave you wishing for more. We have fined here many times for dinner and when it served lunch. Paul never disappoints.
Very good prix-fixe ($29) dinner after 8 pm with good choices. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere.
Good food, good service but very cramped. No room between tables made for a challenging evening. Ended up sharing a table with couple we didn't know. We do now because we heard all their conversations.
Thank you Cesaer for your wonderful friendly service. The food, drinks and service were top notch. Merci!!
This is the second time we've been to La Rivage pre-theater and they know what they are doing to get people in and out on time for their shows. It's a 3 course fixed price dinner for $39.00. There are a good choice of selections. The food comes out fast and is good. I think reservations are a must and when making the reservation tell them your show time. Our group of 4 enjoyed everything.
Our favorite theater district restaurant. Great food; Great service; Very friendly people; reasonable prrces.
I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the staff is welcoming.
Good food, better service. Great place for dinner before a show. Very good value and very nice people. Will go again.
We had many dietary restrictions, and the staff was extremely patient, helpful, and accommodating in meeting our requirements. The amazing onion soup has a vegetarian based broth! One of our favorite go to places in the theater district.
The onion soup burger was spectacular and due to a misunderstanding of their theatre menu they nonetheless accommodated our request all without any fuss - we'll definitely be back
A quaint restaurant. Perfect for before a show. They were respectful of your show times as well not rushing you through.
consistent food and service. pleasantl
I often come here when I go to the theater as the Bistro food is excellent, tasty and light, and the service is very pleasant and efficient. It feels like a cozy neighborhood restaurant. The quality has stayed consistent.
Quality all the way -- the food, the choices, the service, the location. A great experience on my birthday.
It’s not he first time I’ve been to Le Rivage and it certainly won’t be the last. Always great food. Service is superb. And the best is that the proprietors are in the restaurant
Don’t think twice. Just GO !
After having so much Italian I was ready for French. The service here is top notch, and the price not bad for prix fixe. However my baked seafood crepe with sea scallops was covered in melted cheese, made more like a Tex-mex enchilada, and my vegetarian friend's ratatouille was not good (she picked out the squash and ate that, but most was left). My other friend had a baked fish and it was great. But we would try this again and just try something else. The tables are v close together, and that would not have bothered us if there hadn't been a very loud lady from Jersey monopolizing conversation at the next table and using her "outside voice". But this was not the restaurant's fault.
