Another great experience! The French onion soup burger was amazing! We will definitely return, refer others and order again! See you soon.
Everything was delicious. Everyone’s main course was tender and flavored perfectly! The desserts were divine.
My favorite French restaurant. So nice to be back after so long!
A marvelous choice for an affordably indulgent matinee supper on a Sunday night especially. Le Rivage lives up to its reputation for excellent homestyle French cuisine and a warm welcome which is getting harder to find near the theatre district. The succulent escargots, excellent salads and desserts that we had were all top notch. The Prix Fixe Dinners and Wine selections seemed very reasonably priced for Manhattan to this out-of-towner. Staff was very busy, yet never failed to be patient with questions or requests. Very much appreciated after a two year absence from New York.
Terrible service, small portions, messed up reservation, dirty glassware, never saw our server! Do not go here!
Very sorry for your terrible experience, normally there is no excuse but that night 4 people didn’t show up for work and another quit because they ended up with too much work. Now is not the time to push down on restaurants trying to dig themselves out of a hole. At the very least don’t right bad reviews at best ask yourself how you could help.
One of our Favorites on Restaurant Row for Pre & Post Theater Dining. The addition of a Piano Player in the dining room is a Wonderful Touch❗
This was our first time back since the pandemic began. It was as wonderful as we always found it to be. This is the best French restaurant in NYC and we are sure you will agree.
We lucked into an incredible lunch at Le Rivage before seeing a Sunday matinee. My wife and I both had a pre fixe which was perfect portions and sublime flavors. We had the seafood crepe and the mussels which were to die for. She had the quiche and I had the restaurant's famous french onion soup burger which I can't say enough good things about. We finished our meal with a cappuccinos and split the creme brulee and molten lava cake. All were spectacular.
We sat the counter and never felt rushed and found it to be the perfect atmosphere. My wife fond a new favorite in "the le rivage" cocktail and my bourbon old fashioned could compete with anyone's. We'll be back anytime we visit the area.
I love what they offer for all three courses. They were sublime.
The service was fast and efficient. The food was good.
I’m general it was a very good experience
Prix fixe menu was varied and convenient, Chardonnay was superb, mussels and pork were delicious, cordon bleu and trout were fine, desserts were ok. Dined outdoors with seamless service; we were in and out well in time for our curtain.
It was my first visit to New York City. My husband wanted to take me to a special dinner for our last evening in the city. He found Le Rivage on the web. From the moment we arrived, we felt very special. Paul, the owner, stopped by our table and not only greeted us, but spent a half hour chatting with us, telling us about the history of the restaurant, telling us about the art work in the restaurant, and showing us photos of a special event he had just held at the restaurant honoring heroes. The staff attended to our every need throughout the meal. We were treated like royalty.
The food was fabulous! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We loved every minute we spent at Le Rivage. We highly recommend this establishment. We will definitely be back next time we are in New York City!
food was excellent and service was excellent--I would highly recommend this restaurant
Great location for a Meal before the theatre. Would definitely go again.
The only problem was a fixed price lunch of three courses
Thought there was a brunch menu as advertised
Or Al La carte
Bisque soup one of the 2 bowls had No seafood in it!
Ducks were very tasty but also very fatty !
We enjoyed our dinner at Le Rivage. It was nice to be slightly off the beaten path of Eighth Avenue yet still not too far from our theatre to be able to make our show immediately after dinner. We very much appreciated the attentiveness of our waiter, and overall we enjoyed our dinner. The food was good but not show-stopping. I had the trout and my wife had the croque madame, and while we enjoyed our main courses, we did not find the food to be spectacular. We will still consider it for dinner the next time we see a show!
Food was fantastic. Not one complaint. Outstanding!!!
The food was exquisite and the service was impeccable. Great atmosphere and lots of variety on the menu.
Service that is hard to find these days. Portions are small for the price charged. Ambiance was great.
Waited over an hour and only salads came out. Ended up leaving before the entrees arrived. Tables extremely close, but could overlook that with good service/food. The entire experience was substantially subpar.
The prix fixe dinner for $55 was a very good value, but the food was nothing special. Service was very good and attentive.
I have been coming to this restaurant for decades. I recommend others all the time as one of our favorite picks.
Our meal last night was more the disappointing. I actually was embarrassed to had invited our guest to join us for dinner. I had raved how wonderful the food is. Last night it wasn’t. Not even close
We obviously did a very good job for many decades as you point out and this time we did not deliver. We are struggling with the pandemic to find proper employees who still want to serve people such as yourself who are unforgiving at the very first mishap. In a way we are grateful for this one shortcoming as we are dispensing with customers who will go on a tirade rather than help.
Dinner was great
The seafood crepe appetizer was delicious and the steak frites were very tender.
Amazing service, food and pianist!! My girlfriend and I both loved it.
We’re in NYC for a week of Broadway shows…we went to Le Rivage earlier in the week and came back on our last night. Great food…great service and music. A wonderful way to end our trip to NYC.
We celebrated our 13th year wedding anniversary before a Broadway show and we absolutely loved it. The food, the staff, and the value. Also, there was never a feeling of being rushed which is also a huge plus. It was perfect and we will definitely be back. ❤️
The baked seafood crepe was AMAZING. A little crowded, but it's cozy and the food is delicious.
Great menu options and tasty food. Steps from the theaters. Cute decor. If you are adventurous maybe not your spot but good solid French food.
The food and value were very good. However, we both ordered the skirt steak entree after our guests ordered their entrees, and the waitress took our or orders and left. She came back with our appetizers, and told us they were out of skirt steak and to order something else. That was UNBELIEVABLE TO RUN OUT AT 5PM on a Saturday!!! It was not yet busy, and that killed our entire dining experience. We were forced to take a 2nd choice quickly. It was good, but definitely not what we were looking forward to. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?
The answer is quite simple, we order a lot of skirt steak, unfortunately the quality we received on Saturday was below our standards and we had to send it all back. This rarely happens but it does. So rather than send you poor quality the chef made the decision to stop serving it. We apologize for ruining your evening and hope you’ll return to give us a second chance.
Delicious food, prixe fixe dinner a good value, nice atmosphere.
Food was great. Prices outstanding. Service could have been a little faster, even if it was mid-afternoon…hoping that was an anomaly. Will give it another try next time I’m in town for a show and in the mood for french.
A wonderful experience and meal at Le Rivage! The service was impeccable as was our food! Would definitely recommend and we will go again!
The hostess was helpful and knowledgeable. Made good wine and dessert recommendations.
Wouldn’t recommend the seafood crepe. Too much sauce and not enough seafood. The salmon lacked flavor.
It was an ok experience
Great venue and atmosphere and traditional French cuisine which was excellent! Service was the particular item worth noting: We had forgotten to print our Broadway tickets and both the waiter and host were super attentive, going so far as to print our tickets for us and delivering it to our table before dessert. Highly recommend!
Great location. Excellent service. Parking across street. Very convenient if you are seeing a show and drove in
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable; the service is friendly and attentive and they made sure we were in time for our 7:00 show.
A nice cozy French bistro with the addition of a jazz trio to entertain while you enjoy your meal
The steak & frites that is part of the pre fixe menu which is a great deal. Service was great food fantastic and the singer of the Jazz trio was awesome
Fantastic meal with wonderful service. Price Fixe menu reasonably priced with plenty of choices. Perfect setting prior to Moulin Rouge…only a block away.
The restaurant is beautiful and provided the atmosphere we were striving for.
The service was great. The server was professional and attentive.
The prix fixe menu was an excellent value.
