La comida excelente, un ambiente súper agradable y excelente la atención y recomendaciones por parte de Diego y el chico de Guatemala
Le Rivage is warm, welcoming, with wonderful food. Their pre-theatre prix fixe lunches or dinners are well-priced with a wide selection of menu options. The beautiful art work that line the walls make the dining experience very special.
Spectacular food. Cozy and rustic ambiance. Excellent service. New favorite restaurant.
Excellent experience for pre theatre dinner. We will definitely return.
The wait staff was great and very attentive. Would not order the Chicken Cordon Bleu again (overcooked and dry) although the skirt steak, french onion soup, pate, and chocolate mousse were very good. Good value in the theater district.
Another great pre theater dinner! Staff always super attentive as usual. I had the Tuna special which was done perfect medium rare with the mashed potatoes and spinach
My wife had the skirt steaks with fries and she was very pleased . We also split a chocolate mouse and strawberries desert for a great finish
Will be back!
This was the first time we had tried Le Rivage for pre-theater dinner and we were extremely pleased. It's extremely convenient to the theater district since it's on 46th Street. We made a 4:45 reservation for a 7pm curtain, arrived early since the traffic was light, had a drink at the bar and a very nice dinner. Had no problem making the curtain; these guys know what they're doing. When we give the 5 stars some of it is relative; is it really the best restaurant at which we have ever dined. No, but for this purpose and this location it's really quite good. Same thing for the value. Is it an outstanding meal for the price. No, but given the location etc. it's really good. Our old pre-theater go-to seems to have closed and we are planning on making this our new regular.
Enjoyed this cozy place. It was quite empty so the noise level was low.. enjoyed the piano player but wasn't great. Food was good but not exceptional. But reasonably priced.
Excellent food and service. The pre-theater prix fixe is a wonderful value in NYC. Highly recommend.
Always a pleasure. I can count on Le Rivage for delicious food as well as courteous and capable service.
We arrived on time for our reservation and our vaccination status was checked and we were seated into a cramped space 3" away for the person next to you on either side. (total strangers, no mask).
We ordered a cocktail and within 3 minutes the server asked for our 3meal prefix dinner.
Before we were done with our cocktail the appetizer arrived and moments later the meal. Rushed is the word, no sense of spacing out the courses. My wine came while I was more than halfway through the meal. A disappointing Anniversary celebration.
Fantastic meal at Le Rivage! This should definitely be your top choice for pre or post-Theater dinner. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and the service was quick!
super endroit pour avant et après le théâtre, des rendez-vous romantiques, des amis se réunissent
Excelente comida y atención
We arrived early but were greeted and seated with no fuss. Attentive waiter, delicious food. This place is a new (for us) favourite.
We dined outdoors on a Thursday night before going to a Broadway show. The shed has good overhead heaters. Heavy curtains cover the shed's entrance, which is good for keeping out the cold, but also limits airflow. Fortunately, only one other of the 10 or so out-door tables was occupied. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was excellent, though a little pricey. We enjoyed the Boeuf Bourguignon and the grilled trout for main courses, and, for appetizer, the mushroom crepe.
The food is special, the prix fixe 3 course dinner is a bargain, the service is friendly and efficient, the bartender is good and a nice guy, the ambience is lovely despite the really bad paintings of French scenes, so I highy recommend Le Rivage.
Lovely food, gracious staff, attentive service without being pesky.
Always a pleasure. Cozy,European atmosphere with excellent service, a varied menu and delicious food. We'll be back
Coq au vin was absolutely delicious
The restaurant is in the Broadway theater district. The menu is authentically French and the cooking competent, albeit not memorable. Service was friendly and the ambience is very charming.
Our evening at Le Rivage (New Year's night) was outstanding. From our greeting at the door to the excellent food and service (courtesy of Amaury) it made for a memorable birthday celebration for me. The food - what I'd say is French comfort food - was delicious. My husband said his beet salad, chicken cordon bleu and apple tart were among the best he's ever had. Likewise, my coq au vin was delicious and my creme brûlée came with a birthday candle in it.
The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and as I said, Amaury provided excellent service - he was attentive and personable, with a great sense of humor.
Great value for the money, I'd say, and we will definitely be back.
Great food great ambience and stellar, super accommodating staff.
Coat check, Must have proof of vaccination. Got to reservation early and still sat us right away. Only mishap was we received after entrée but honest mistake because someone had taken our bread/app plates so they assumed someone had brought appetizer. I got the steak frites and my hubby got the La coq a vin chicken plate. Steak frites were amazing, the steak was tender with a great sauce and frites were crispy. His chicken plate was a bit dry but overall he said good. Once apps did arrive we had the beet salad, super amazing and then the seafood crepe, IT WAS OUTSTANDING ! We were actually happy our apps came second and because the crepe was AMAZING - its a must try.
Good French food in a nice French style and well decorated restaurant. Live Jazz music to add to the good ambience, adapted for a dinner with friends or for a romantic one.
Nice place for small group and excellent food quality
Wonderful meal! Prices fixe lunch, 3 courses all delicious. Great drinks and friendly wine list. Highly recommend and will go back for dinner
Went for our anniversary dinner. Highly recommend for your pre theater dining. Excellent staff. Food was very good and yummy cocktails too.
This was a great experience in every way from the delicious food to the great service. Onion soup burger. Best in NYC!
Great little French bistro, good service and great food
Great service. The food was good. French onion soup was Delicious. The cordon blue was good but the pork chop
was outstanding. The chocolate mousse and cheesecake were best I’ve ever eaten.
Amazing place! Hidden gem! Reasonably priced, great food and drink selection. Very cordial staff. Would come back again!
Overall the food was tasty and great value for the pre-fixe meal. Tables are VERY close together and it makes you feel like you’re dining with the people next to you. That would be my only compliant
Real Fun. Entree selections all on point and well cooked. Apps could have been more seasoned and executed but a super value pre fixe, music and energy were great. Quintessential pre theatre.
Have been coming here for over a decade and it’s absolutely the “BEST”
Beautiful French restaurant with great food and accessible prices. Especially the escargots are highly recommended. Service is great and everyone is very kind. I'd go again.
Best Christmas brunch ever!
The restaurant is nice and cosy, and the workers are awsomely nice, we highly recommend this place
Quaint, fancy spot. Was very quiet so felt like I had to whisper. Also, was small so was seated close to other guests. But food was delightful, slightly under seasoned but typical for French cuisine. My son said French onion burger was the best he ever had!
We were enthusiastically welcomed, and had arrived an hour before our reserved time and they were fine accommodating us. Our party of two had a quiet late lunch using the prix fixe menu, which was a great value. The seafood crepe was outstanding and the onion soup was tasty but seemed to be a bit skimpy on onions in our serving. The trout amandine was superb, but the beef bourguinon was nothing special. For dessert we chose creme brulee (which was blah- it seemed to be missing the vanilla) and chocolate mousse (which was delightful). The service was excellent with the waiters coming only when needed. Access to the bathrooms is down a set of stairs.
